Active Noise Cancellation

During playback two additional inward-facing microphones measure what you're hearing, and then use adaptive EQ to adjust frequencies for a consistent experience and faithful audio reproduction.
Transparency Mode
When active noise cancelling mode is on, you can easily chat with others or listen in on your surroundings without taking off your AirPods Max. Simply press the dedicated noise control button to active transparency mode, and let outside sounds back in.
Save Battery Life with a Smart Case
Included with the Airpods Max is Apple's Smart Case, which conveniently stores the headphones and puts them into an ultra-low-power state to preserve battery life.
Built for Comfort
Over-ear headphones can be cumbersome to wear for long periods of time, which is why Apple redesigned the headband of the AirPods Max to incorporate a breathable knit mesh canopy. This canopy is designed to optimally distribute the weight of the headphones to reduce on-head pressure. It's connected to two earcups that sport a mesh textile-wrapped memory foam for pillow-like softness.
Each anodized aluminum earcup rotates independently to further balance pressure and improve comfort. Telescoping arms extend smoothly and stay in place to ensure the earcups maintain a precise fit. Hands-Free Calls & Siri

Siri

On-Head Detection

Holy shit! Thank you! I did this, I cleaned tf out of em and they work like they’re brand new now! I had given up on these, they would disconnect so frequently that they’ve been parked in my shelf for about a year because they were unusable. I spent 15 mins cleaning exactly like this, and they’re perfect now. Thank you for resurrecting my Max’s!
Just an FYI for those struggling to put the earcups back on, you dont have to put the sim tool in the hole when you are putting the headphones back together, you should just be able to twist them on.

Mines aren’t charging, not showing light anymore and earlier today it stopped wanting to connect to my phone
I did this, and they’re still having issues. And now they’re refusing to reset.
That’s confusing, so they charge, power on, connect and play music but won’t reset?
What kinda damage did they take previously?
Mines randomly started doing this today . They have been fine I keep them in protective covers and now all of a sudden I wake up and they won’t reconnect and apple agent told me because they sent under warranty they couldn’t help me
@@Fredo.heavyy mines took. I previous bandage. I had them for around 2 years and if you ask me Apple knows them headphones only are gonna last 2 years I’ve red a lot online and it’s happening to a lot of us just like them getting sued for slowing down older iPhones

Take your time cleaning the connectors and the inside of the the connectors. One time cleaning is not enough. There was some piece of dirt really stuck on one of the connectors. Had to clean it very thoroughly to get it off.
very helpful, cleaned it up nicely and after reseted my headphones with pressing down the sound canceling button up until a white light showed up and started blinking. Pulled down my bluetooth preferences on my mac and was able to finally reconnect my headphones. Thanks for this video and hopefully this comments helps others having trouble!

The headband *technically* isn't reversible, since the cups can only rotate to the flat position in 1 direction. If you put the headband back together backwards, you won't be able to use the charging port while they're in the case. Not a dealbreaker, but something to consider

Wow, this helped me out! Massive thanks, saved a few hundred bucks by doing this. Although, I only used a microfibre cloth.
You have to really go to town cleaning the points, I use an electric toothbrush, alcohol solution, a wooden scraper, sometimes a harder brush and the magnifier on my iPhone as the corrosion is difficult to spot with the naked eye. It's not a quick job.
The problem has nothing to do with sweat, condensation is not sweat, condensation is the reaction of warm air against a cold surface. Moisture held in the air rapidly hits a cold surface releasing the moisture in the form of droplets-a process called condensing. it's not sweat being sucked into the headphones it's warm air hitting the cold surface of the headphones - in this case aluminium. Aluminium is a very good condenser, and so is copper - both used in air conditioning units. Aluminium corrodes quicker than copper due to condensation build up, in fact it is particularly prone to corrosion caused when it comes into contact with air and water. In some instances this can be useful as it actually strengthens the aluminium, but not useful when it's used in something like headphones. The problem in the AirPods Max is unavoidable, because of the extensive use of aluminium.
As far as I can see in the four pairs I have had the problem seems to be focussed on corrosion forming on the connectors in the APM headband, they look like little lightening charger points. I have cleaned them and most recently have gone to town cleaning the points using alcohol solution, an electric toothbrush and a wooden scraper along with the magnifier on my iPhone as the corrosion isn't easy to spot with the naked eye, it seems the tiniest spots cause the APM to malfunction. I'm talking a good 15 minutes scrubbing each side of the points, to get rid of all corrosion. Every time I do this it works, if it doesn't I repeat the process and it works.
This is a huge ball ache for something that costs £500, how this was not considered in the design, production and testing by Apple and is pretty shocking. If you live anywhere there is air and moisture it will likely happen and that is planet earth - otherwise you'd be dead! If I had realised this before buying them there is no way I would have got them - but as I didn't I am stuck in a return / cleaning cycle - this is not water damage it is corrosion. Your head and body is warm the headphones like anything using energy get warm, the warm air around them hits the aluminium, rapidly cools causing condensation which causes corrosion. The design of the aluminium connectors seems to be the downfall of the APM although I can't be sure if it's not happening in other areas you can't see. Apple should have done a product recall a long time ago, it is impossible for them to not know this - I have a high school science education and worked it out. Avoid them like the plague.

@@Shaboomquisa not that I know of - but you can clean the connectors frequently by detaching them from each cup and clean with alcohol solution. But it won't help any internal damage inside the cups. One of the times I took mine back the genius guy said to use them infrequently! wtf if I spend £500 on headphones I expect to be able to use them as much as possible - plus this should be highlighted before you drop the money on them. Apple really have let customers down with this issue.
@@55tranquility you can add some diametric grease on the connectors to prevent water forming and corroding the connections. its a fine line too much of it and they sat having issues
I just bought a pair brand new, and they will try to connect but cause my apps to not run properly and I can’t hear my phone audio out of them. I hear the noise cancellation when I switch it and they are fully charged but it won’t connect properly. I don’t know what to do but I’m gonna drive to my Apple Store and hope to get a new pair bc I’m so mad
hi Fred I was wondering if using a 91 percent cleaning alcohol like you have will make a difference ? bcoz I was using a tv screen cleaner liquid for the AirPods max ..which may or mayn't have the right percentage ... but it works time to time but then looses connectivity

@fredo thanks. This fixed my connectivity issue. Headband connectors and the holes on the earphones were dirty. I was also getting a sharp short static sound in my right pad after listening for about 20 mins that seems to have been resolved.

Thanks. I also did this. The Airpod Max are looked after only brought in 2021. Yet I get Green- WHITE and Three Amber Flashes. They refuse to pair to any device
It worked for me!!! Make sure you clean the connectors more than once. They need to shine like new again and make sure you clean the inside of the connectors also more then once.

What if I don’t use isopropyl alcohol? Would they still fix or no? Do I absolutely need the alcohol to fix the problem or I could just use dry q tips and tissues?
You want to use the alcohol to dissolve any dirt, honestly I wouldn’t use anything else because the components are sensitive.

yesterday again I had a heaven of moment when the AirPods max came back online...this cleaning does certainly help..just cant understand why is this conenction fluctuation so much..on and off...also my AirPods no longer connects automatically to devices in home ..I have to do it all over again with factory reset ..maybe the internal components need more cleaning

Just get a bowers and wilkins px8 , thats what im gonna do now… Im really sad because i use transpaerncy a lot and there is no other headphones with this good transparency mode.

I tried this method it worked..but only 20 mins later to again go into disconnection ..maybe I didnt clean it enough ?which side of headphone deals with Bluetooth detection ..my headphone is not being detected at all at times..
you have to make sure the contact pins at the end off the band are really clean.

I have actually a solution which cleans screen on tv it is antistatic ..but I my cotton buds couldn't enter the hole inside fully is this the reason ? the contacts I made sure are clean 100 percent ..I did twice ..dunno why my headphones wont show on the blutooth

Not sure if you've gotten it out yet but my SIM card ejector didn't work. I had to try several different earring backs to get it to work. Maybe try that??
