You can reuse the simple green until it gets nasty, so you don't need to refill it every time you use it. I built a 55 gallon drum jacuzzi to boil engine blocks with a coil of copper tubing in the bottom with holes in it to hook up a compressor to cause agitation and help scrub the block clean. Have a great day.
Crazy D it's definitely worth the money to have a cleaner like that it will save you time and now days thats worth while you're time cost you money I would recommend that you stock the most common carburetor rebuilt kits in stock you're bound to need them sooner or later
I have cooked carbs whole in one plus make your self be a little basket out of screen door screen to put you little parts in you also want to rinse parts with carb or brake cleaner if not it gets a sticky coating on it from the cleaner
A buddy of mine had a tank that was so gummy I told him to throw it away. He blasted it clean with a power washer and I couldn't believe how well it did
Ultra-sonic cleaners are definitely worth the money if you use them enough. I actually have 2 of them, one for carbs and the other for parts that just need a good cleaning but aren't crudded up with old gas. I use Simple Green or Orange Power (whichever I find first on the shelf) on carbs and POR-15 Cleaner/Degreaser (it used to be called Marine Clean) in the other one. I also use the POR-15 stuff in my big parts washer and always rinse the carbs and other fuel system parts in it because it removes the residue. Another reply mentioned making a basket out of window screen to hold hardware etc. That's a good idea IF you can find actual metal screen material, most of what I see these days isn't metal and I don't know how it would hold up. What I use instead for hardware and other small parts is a small-medium size metal kitchen strainer.
Same rig as used by Musti 1. If you've not looked at his channel, do so. Excellent all around mechanic but focuses on small engines and strange builds.

I could tell Dave was excited. That's the best recommendation.

That is what use. Simple Green worked great for me. I wish they made them big enough to do gas tanks.

I love my ultra sonic cleaner and yes I use it on all carb period
Hardly ever use acid anymore but still keep it
Cool video! Super interesting how well it worked
That carb. looks the same as the one off my old IH Super A ?
Friends tell me to put parts in ziplock bag, fill with cleaner, close up. Fill rest of tank w water. Saves on ckeaner
Elliot Alvis approves simple green. :)
I wonder if you could find one that would fit an entire engine. :)
That's a good question
Yes, you can. They cost thousands of dollars though.
