    Before you start spending 100s of dollars automating you're system, make sure you know how to grow a quality plant to begin with.

    I have a 4x2 tent that is climate controlled for temp, rh, filtered air flow/exchange and overall dew point and runs under 100 watts. Cost under $400 all in. I have also modified a electronic cigar humidifier to hold temp and rh BUT it requires extra equipment, a pi pico and some code. I am still tweaking it but still, has potential for under $500 ish depending on size.

    Great job Gents !! When all of you are saying the price of Cannatrol drying and curing machine is outrageous, are you forgetting this is prob the most critical stage of your grow, with germination probably the #1. It is only expensive in the lack of value … or Price is only an issue in the absence of value ! Talking about automation 1000 dollars etc… pssssshh.. manually control your environment, use great genetics and cannatrol. It’s only expensive when it’s not full of flower, ha. Perpetual harvest as a home grower is a diamond .

    I swear by 3 things now. IR red lights, UVB for flower, and Rooted Leaf for nutes. Just insane diffeences

    • @evzevz06
      @evzevz06 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I know people who used to swear by UV in flower but now do the opposite.
      Im not saying you're wrong, but there is still no conclusive proof of UVB working or having any change in quality or quantity of trichs or terpenes when used in flower, most recent studies I read reported no change between UV and control group trich levels or concentrations contained in them, or terpene levels, though UV did slow ripening, every UV exposure is damaging the plant and the plant can take 2 weeks to fully recover from that exposure. Aswell as showing permanent damage to older foliage.
      From everything gathered its suggested to try it backwards,
      As the plants have trichomes once the first set of real leaves appear, introduce UV, increase the levels until you flip to 12/12 then no UV. By 12/12 you have trained and acclimatised it to UV, and naturally UV would decrease after it switches.
      You wouldn't wait until you flower to increase your root mass, why wait until flower to try then push it to produce more trichomes, especially near the end of the cycle when in nature UV would be at its lowest and because UV damages trichs which they need time to recover from (think sunburn, you wouldn't go back out into the sun for a few days) and it doesn't increase quality or quantity.

    • @livingeclipse
      @livingeclipse 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @evzevz06 I just finished my first run on it and I saw an increase in perceived potency (didn't lab test). I'm going to try to get it dialed in just right and really see. You may be dead right on, I hope to understand better in a couple of grows. I'm running it 15 minutes a day starting week 1 of flower then upping weekly until its 2 hours this time. I may see a big mistake and have to back off quickly, but it's worth a shot. I like the idea of starting in veg then backing off, that makes a lot of sense.

    Good morning…it’s President’s Day and I’m watching episode 167. I decided today I would write you guys and tell you what an impact you three have had on my journey growing the plant we all love. I started watching you all a couple years ago when I started setting up to grow. I’m growing Autos in an AC Infinity 4X4 with an AC Infinity 5x5 bar light, humidifier, fans and the Controller 69 Pro. I’m using the Stash Blend…..holy cow what a difference! Obviously you three have made a huge difference in how I grow. I hope you see this message and it finds you doing well. Thanks for all you share. The three of you are a perfect combination.

    I liked the cannatrol but for the $ there’s no way! I got a 20 cubic foot refrigerator, a couple of pid controllers to adjust an internal humidifier and de-humidifier, and now I use it to dry/store/cure. Perfect temperature/humidity control. Threw out the shelves, made some wire racks, I can hang (4) plants to dry (cannatrol makes you lay the buds flat). Dry, trim and put buds in breathable paper bags and they cure nicely! Kind of hard to go wrong. I grab a bag out from 6+ months ago and it’s great, perfect product! Get off your butt and build one yourself!!!

    Hey rob , I know you had a bad first experience with the hey Abby . The app has come a long way from when they first came out and the problems you had with it have been fixed. I feel like it’s being misrepresented, I’ve grown 16 plants in the hey Abby successfully and also forcibly learned some good tricks and techniques growing in the small space. I have ac infinity tents as well! But there are a lot of hey Abby users that are successfully growing great medicine in the machine. I really hope you will give it another try.

      @gangofgreenhorns2672 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good catch on the salts from seaweed. Hadnt thought of that. I know in organic/no till greenhouse growing (for food production) they have to flush out the soil every few years bc the lack of rain allows salts to build up. Something to keep in mind even without their additives.
      At the same time i know a no till gardener in the maritimes who collects/topdresses seaweed all the time and has never had a problem (outside). So probably a periodic flush to simulate spring rains will keep everything in check.

    🙋🏿‍♂️ Is there anyone that has done real science on if photos must be transplanted and not just planted like auto's? Because everything I've read is all B.S. bro science.
    I was given free seeds and thought if I ordered all autos, clearly I didn't want photos and they would only give me auto's. I planted all the seed like auto's and the photos took over my tent. I didn't realize they were photos until all the autos started flowering. So is the transplanting concrete or bro science?

    Canna related things I am looking for this year. New shears for wife with spring left in. Need new totes because of drain placement. My bad didn't think it through before hand. More lucky dog the pro mix needs more nutrients than lucky dog. The pro mix don't dry out as quick. Need to put glass block vent window in old coal shut window. So can lower humidity levels.

    I'd really like to see a Video describing what Leaves SHOULD look like, towards different stages of its growth. How to tell if it's too dark or to identify light intensity or height from Canopy, also with Noots! Like during Flower, should the ends of the Leaves fold up at the edges or how intensity plays a roll in the looks of the Leaves.

    I think having an EC meter is a must in the garden. I grow with synthetic nutrients and it's important to check runoff EC to get a good understanding of how your plants are doing.

    I am a believer in anything worth doing is worth doing right and the first time. That means it starts with your soils.. not store bought crap.
