Ashley, let me take a moment to applaud your outstanding work on your channel! Your ability to express yourself with eloquence is appreciated, and your meticulous attention to detail when getting to the essence of a book is excellent, it has helped me save time on searching for my next read, so thank you! Congrats on all your successes, Keep up the incredible work!
For some reason even though I’m not a huge crime/thriller fan, I find myself coming back to your channel from time to time and hearing about your recommendations 😆 The way you talk is so calming, and it’s really fun to sit back and relax and hear about all these cool story premises ☺️
This was such a good round up! I also went in blind for The Writing Retreat, and it was so much fun. I love the "trapped in a strangers house/there's a snow storm/weird stuff starts to happen" trope hahah. It was really unpredictable and playful. x
I have been SCOURING my history trying to find this video!!! Finally found you! Just finished Foe last night (because of this video) and loved it! I had also added The Venue to my TBR when I originally saw this video as well. I'm an 80% non-fiction reader but books like Foe, Bunny and My Best Friend's Exorcism fit nicely into the other 20%. Count me in as a new subscriber! Looking forward to more thriller/suspense/horror recs!! 😊❤
Our Wives Under the Sea is one of my favourite books of the year too ☺ Sign Here and The Writing Retreat are both on my list of books to read. Just added Foe and The Venue to it!
Ashley, time for a thriller. 'The Siberia Job'. It masterfully combines historical context, heart-pounding adventure, and high-stakes suspense, all wrapped up in a well-written narrative. If you're in for a thrilling read.
I’ve read so many of this list! Yellow face (4 stars), Our Wives Under The Sea (5 stars), Lakewood (3 stars), Foe (2 stars), The Writing Retreat (2 stars for the writing style but 5 stars for the fun factor), The Last Word (4 stars) 💕 you convincted me to read the venue! And I’ve had the chain on my tbr for years now, maybe I’ll finally pick it up ❤
Hi Ashley! You might really like the Damned and Doomed books by Chuck Palahniuk if you’ve never read them! 😊 Thanks for the recommendations! I added Sign Here to my TBR. Lots of love to you from Utah ❤
My five stars are low this year as well. Right now, I’m standing at 11, which is only 17% of books read. They are: 1- Lessons in Chemistry 2- The Measure 3- Demon Copperhead 4- The Dream Daughter 5- The People We Keep 6- Mrs. Wiggins 7- Someone Else’s Shoes 8- The Storied Life of A.J. Fikray 9- Silence for the Dead The last 2 aww older, but both were great! 10- The Honk and Holler Opening Soon 11- Kaleidoscope
Thank you for the great reviews and lists, can you please do a top list of Audiodramas? I find it the most effective to listen to a great one and so satisfying. Also i think no one talks about that.
So happy to see The Last Word in the top spot! It’s also my favorite read of 2023 so far. I know a lot of people think it’s just okay, but it was perfect for my taste - very clever and Scream-like.
Hi Ashley! I've read The venue and it was so wired and disturbing but I loved the experience. I'm reading Our wives under the sea and I adore it. I thought you were putting Looking glass sound by Catriona Ward on the list...it is also very good. Thank you very much for your advices, thanks to you I discovered lots of very god thriller authors! 💛

I got the Audio of The Last Word on Libby but I'm first on the hold list for the hardcopy at my library. I would rather read it but I keep being tempted to listen to the audio, I'm about 25% in now and trying to have some inner strength to wait for my library :)
Hi there, I love Taylor Adams novels. First one I read last year was No Exit. It was so fast pace and I had to get through it. Finished in two days. This year I read Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams. I really liked it, too. Next one I want to read Eyeshot by him. It also is a fast pace thriller.I got The Last Word from Book of the Month. .
I just finished “Beware the Woman” by Megan Abbott, and it’s been a surprising, claustrophobic domestic thriller turned family horror. A non-paranormal Rosemary’s Baby meets Get Out.
@@ashleyslittlelibrary Trigger warnings for gaslighting and misogyny. I usually hate the gaslighting trope (Insomnia by Sarah Pinborough drove me MAD), but it worked for me here. (And I wasn’t a big fan of The Turnout, so this one surprised me.)
Hi Blue moon, I read some Stephen King. I try to read a Stephen King novel each year. Loved Salem's Lot andThe Shining. I want to read The Exorcist.I seen The Exorcist several times. Very scary! I would like to read Misery. Loved the movie. Good to in the winter just like The Shining.
I find these lists so useful (because it saves my time by reading only good books) so thank you, Ashley! ❤
Same. I've started and DNF'd 3 duds recently, now I'm like, let me work smarter and not harder and find the ones people already read and liked.
Exactly!!

.
Hitchcock's strangers on a train is based on Patricia Highsmith's novel by the same name. It's very good.
It’s One of Us by JT Ellison is something I think you would enjoy. A thriller that also has so much heart and soul.
👀
nice work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I have been thinking about Our Wives Under the Sea every time the submersible comes up😮 Can't imagine anything more scary for me personally
