Bach only wrote 12 bars of this wonderful piece. Let's see what happens when I try to complete it as an improvisation!
Most completions of this Bach fragment only finish the Fantasia. It's amazing to see someone finally append a whole Fugue in Bach fashion.
'Incredible' improvisation! Yet so credible and rich. This organ still believes in God.
What I appreciate most is that I did not really detect a change in the composition style. I have listened to Bach regularly for over 40 years, I have in my collection almost everything that we have of his compositions. It has always been an enjoyable pastime to think through different musical possibilities in his styles. This was masterful in performance and in composition. Few can do this as well Sietze.

I can do you one better: come to a concert of mine and give me a theme and a form. 😊
Take the theme of the 542 and amaze us. Do another Fugue on that theme, post the video here today and amaze the whole world, not just me. 😉

Bach wrote whole piece, but what is preserved is only 12 bars...

Only the first bars and the fugue theme. The rest is sheet music from the rest of the concert (it's a live recording). But feel free to transcribe it!
Why is this called an improvisation? Anything that's not playing as exactly written is considered improvisation? Would playing figured bass considered a form of improvisation?
We only have the first 12 bars from Bach. The rest is made up on the spot, including the Fuge. 😊
