So I can retire. I could afford one. The frame and all wheel drive etc, it would last that way. The gravel, itself would chew the tires to pieces and those tires would nave been much worse. There would not be a single drop of protection underneath from the gravel. The suspension would have required a pretty constant level of maintenance. The suspension was much different from the regular S10. The S10 was, in regular form, a piece of crap. I could go on, but don’t have to. Go troll someone else now.

You dont see Syclones at all and this one is a very nice and clean example of taking care of timeless rare muscle truck. I have both sides of those rear pieces if he wants them. I bought them not realizing the syclone is a bit longer than the Typhoon and yes they are very rare and costly.
Thanks goodness this wasn't another Jeep! Love the Typhoon and Cyclones. I have an 86 S10 Blazer, had for 30 years, it's like a member of the family at this point.
Had a friend in 2003 that had a Syclone, he fabric wrapped the bed. Installed a stereo system, NOS, and an even bigger turbo, among other mods, he would race street bikes and exotics with it.
What a great truck! I remember the first time I saw one and how great it looked then. It was May of 1991 and my Mom and Dad brought me to a GMC dealer with them and we ended up driving away with a 1991 GMC Sierra but in the showroom of this dealership was a GMC Syclone. To my 11 year old self, it looked incredible!
Love the truck! $12,000 is a steal of a deal. This truck is a show stopper and can easily make a grand a night at any local drag strip in America. And no it is not a car, where do you get off saying that? The S-10 was never called a car. It is still smoking fast, has there been a faster truck to date? NO! Anybody out there remember the predecessor to this truck? The Dodge Dakota Shelby small pickup?
@Mitch09 people don't listen or pay attention. Like when they test vehicles offroad in the snow and ice starting the test them ss they get them. And what's the first comment. Should've used snow tires when they've stated at the video they test them
actually the interior is more reflecting of the late 80's than the 90's this boxy look is the first gen body and interior that was for most of the 80's. Also comparing the body of these s10 to modern trucks these trucks when you do not have the turbo and can hall things, are so usable in dimentions. You can reach over into the bed of the truck to load and unload things. in modern trucks everything is so high off the ground and the bed of the truck has massive tall sides so you need all those steps to be tall enough to get in and out or reach in and out. Same with the old toyotas and nissan small trucks. Small trucks rock.
To add to that I'm pretty shocked at how well the G-body GM's aged. They looked out of place in the 90's but seeing them now (those in good condition) the cars were well-styled and far from the stupid jelly-bean approach of modern cars.
I was a young man when these came out. My Dad has always been into cars and I went with him as he looked at & and test drove one of the first ones in the Portland metro area. Because it’s a two seater, I didn’t get to go on the test drive. Dad came back with a big grin on his face. He said that he accidentally roasted the tires just trying to pull out of the parking lot onto a kind of busy street. He was super apologetic to the salesman, who just laughed and said they had all accidentally spun the tires. Dad didn’t end up buying one, but I’ve always loved these. I also remember that at the time, one of the major car car magazines did a funny article comparing the Cyclone to a new Ferrari. The Cyclone beat it in almost every category including number of kegs they could each carry. Awesome truck, thanks to the owner for sharing and thanks to TFL for providing the video!
I hope GM finds a true performance again as in street NOT raptor or trx ram they are offroad. I want drag & track performance which in terms of the 6.2L it beats a lot of them but a factory Supercharged SS Silverado/Sierra Supercharged HO version would be awesome.
SOLAR SS I agree, long overdue. chevy 454SS Ram SRT10 Ford Lightning and Tremor gmc SyTy would really like to see this segment return. definitely would buy one.

great point about US and large trucks, we spent over a year in Central America, 4x4 was a necessity but large was not, they just dont have the roads to support extra-large SUV/pickups, its a great privilege to drive them on great roads
When the grand national got scrapped GMC took some of the guys to work on their new performance truck. So they used what they knew from the grand national but went with the 4.3 instead of 3.8. Used the front diff and trans from the awd GMC safari van and some gauges from the Pontiac sunbird.
I really like the size of this truck. I had a Comanche that felt just right. I don't understand the desire for vehicles the size of all modern trucks. I'd really like Jeep to build a two door Gladiator.
I have a B&M shift kit in my 1991 GMC C1500 single cab step side. It barks the tires into 2nd gear almost every time. I honestly wish I would have put the stage 1 spring in the valve body instead of the stage 2 solid space for the 1-2 accumulator because it's a bit much even at light throttle in a parking lot. If I ever drop the valve body out again I'm swapping the spring. 2-3 shift is firm and perfect.
It’s amazing how little GMs switchgear and instrumentation has evolved in 30 years. I’d be willing to bet that if you look at a current model GM product five years from now, the painted on bezel and switch color will be flaking off.

Ford was smart and came out with new Ranger n had great SUV but GM Holden fall apart with poor quality n customer servicing on their Captiva SUV. The once reliable Holden Rodeo or now Colorado had few issues but with updates it starting to gain traction in sales. GM SUV need works done to it if going a place in market not rebadged with high fuel mpg n price tag is not helping. There small cars are losing ground because they come from Korea not Europe and with loss of European built cars I reckon this is nail in coffin for GM unless they going build great small cars, SUV from USA with RHD truck off manufacturing floor only this save GM. I reckon FCA learning this moment all need is time and might replace slow GM. There was talk of Holden been sold through PSA which sell Peugeot. But gone are days of great RWD cars n utes that there still a neèd for in Australia not everyone wants SUV or truck to get around in Australia.

I was thinking the same thing. Been watching the prices on AutoTrader and eBay lately... just like the GN they are priced too high for me to pick up as a toy. I don't know if you can finance one this old.
Scott Long Yep, the exact same thing happened with GN’s/T Types.. even 10 years ago, you could find a decent Buick for 10k, now it’s virtually impossible. Guys are trying to sell 85 GN’s for 20k and those are horrible. Looking at Syclones, it seems like 25k is the avg for something in this condition. Typhoons are a tad cheaper, but even those are becoming hard to find without breaking the bank. I would love to have either a Syclone or Buick soon, but it’s getting crazy. I’m currently looking at Sonoma GT’s which I love as well, I’ll be happy with one of those and toss a supercharger on that 4.3 and save 10k.
Yeah i didnt hesitate to buy it when I came across it. Guy stored it indoors and took immaculate care of it. The mileage didnt bother me with the condition it was in.
Because the grand national is a g-body and chick hicks is based on the g-body. G-body is 80s Chevy Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Buick Regal(which is the Grand Nationals base platform), and Pontian Grand Prix.
I have an 06 Silverado SS 6.0 and it still has the same downshift issue lol it could go down 1 more but it usually doesn't...still a fun truck and it can haul weight. Great video I remember when they came out, I was thinking buy and store it for 12K in 19 glad I didnt lol
Model year on my Syclone was late 1990 so technically they made them for over a year. Wish I had it now knowing it was 1 of only a few hundred sold in 90.
As far as I know, the Syclone, 25 years later, is still the quickest production truck ever made, and it was the quickest through 0-60 and the quarter mile of any mass production vehicle at the time.
15:04, keeping up with the office Touareg, but not passing it.... Hmmm, I'd like to see that in a drag race. I think the Syclone would take the the Touareg.

FatKidsLeaveTheHouse Beautiful truck. I would have jumped all over it at that price as well.
@@aaronbrown4366 Thank you sir! People thought I was crazy but who's laughing now? LOL
12:53 The Grand National Kinda Looks Like Chick Hicks And Cars & Cars 3 Movies With The High TakeOver Bank 86 Number
Wtf?
Because the grand national is a g-body and chick hicks is based on the g-body. G-body is 80s Chevy Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, Buick Regal(which is the Grand Nationals base platform), and Pontian Grand Prix.
Love those trucks. Those gauges were borrowed from the Pontiac Sunbird GT.
I love my Typoon fast as hell
they should have built many more of these.
Well, more people should've bought em back then.
15:56 Go To Dayonta Race And Get Racing Truck And That's Puts You Power In It
I had one , it was so fast 0-60 . I got rid of it because it was stolen and totaled . I miss it a lot.
big turbo ? that thing is a tiny 48.5mm with an 8cm exhaust side .....choke
I would love to see GM build these little bullets again, it would give the raptor a run for it's money and what a fun little ride.
Still own my Typhoon to date. But I love the Garage 😍 Soo clean!!
You asked him what’s unique about the interior and he missed something. The gauge cluster is from a Sunbird GT.
Time to buy a replacement mph gauge it will fit in my Sunbird 😎
Dream car right here.
Love the truck built 3 v8 s10s one was a blazer when the v8 swap boom came in on the s10s and rangers
It was not the fastest GM vehicle
It was the quickest. Fast is top end. Quick is 1/4 mile or 0-60.
Love these things!!!
I would like to see how a single turbo truck has true dual exhaust.
Oh how I want one of these so bad.
Love those trucks. Want to throw up when I look at the new gm is making.
Blast from the past !!
Great classic for a great price. Back when GM had the balls to think outside the box! Roman is right, someone needs to bring back the small pick up.
I have an 06 Silverado SS 6.0 and it still has the same downshift issue lol it could go down 1 more but it usually doesn't...still a fun truck and it can haul weight. Great video I remember when they came out, I was thinking buy and store it for 12K in 19 glad I didnt lol
When Roman pushed the hood down I almost passed out. My 335i hood woulda touched the radiator. 😂
If you wanna see something cool look up top gear testing this back in the day and they are at a drag strip
I miss mine. To this day it's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned.
What about the Monaro ute?
Seriously so cool.
I think the Syclone would take the the Touareg.
this episode was almost like he was insulting the syclone..
Fog lights are still a big deal option. Weird he says it like a cliche.
The ZR1 had a certified top speed of 189.Fastest G.M. car that year was a ZR1.
Most people still don't know about how bad ass that car was in stock form
Yea but a v6 pickup truck could match its 0 to 60. They were both 4.3 seconds
I’m surprised the owner didn’t say “quickest” I know he’s in the SyTy groups and that’s common vernacular. Not “fastest”.
