Hey Man love your channel! Ive just Gotten into the TH-cam Scene a couple of months ago, and I would love to connect pick your Brain on some content stuff? Appreciate it!
I agree. I am nitpicking with this maybe, but I do have concerns about his shot release. He basically shoots from his forehead and shovels it up. Because of that, his shot is going to be challenged and disrupted much more easily than it would otherwise.
always have felt if giddey improved his finishing at the rim and through contact and his 3 point shooting he will be the perfect 3rd option and complementary piece next to sga and chet glad to see he is improving those parts of his game
@@mrmiguel_00 Thanks. But entirely different positions and in two years the basketball world will marvel at what Chet does and soon at Ousmane. It’s coming.
As an Aussie I'm always going to support him. But I said at the time when people were questioning why OKC took him 6th that he's a tall guard in addition to being an excellent passer and floor general and if the OKC coaching staff can unlock his offensive game he becomes the kind of player that every team wants. Seems like they're on the right track.
What they have building in OKC is nice. Giddey and SGA are fun to watch. we will see if Chet can make an impact but you gotta feel good if your a thunder fan.
@@pfrmdamuddythe Timberwolves too lol they don’t draft based on team needs. Include the mavs as well, their draft selections besides Luka have been awful and the trades don’t work well either. They just got lucky that Luka was available for them to get
Josh Giddey is a young and exceptionally talented player who possesses a high potential. He is an outstanding playmaker, with a towering size and high basketball IQ, despite being only 20 years old, he is essentially at the beginning of his career. While his game is already impressive, if he can improve his defensive skills and shooting, he has the potential to become an All-Star level player in the near future.
Something else pretty awesome is the thunder have their rotations set to where shai runs with a shooting lineup to end the first and Giddey and Jdub lead a second unit to start the second quarter. He’s been amazing in that role as of late and really taking over as the primary ball handler.
@TriVos Ahren He wrote foundational which is correct, and the roster even right now is replete with them. And when Chet plays with these quick kids it will be a force.
@TriVos Ahren Sorry to nit pick. Keep expressing your opinions. I love Poku, and Ousmane too. Poku is such a mystery as he does all things well, is so long, prone to mistakes as all 21 year-olds are but who could be a star. The incredible thing that stands out with the Thunder as I see it, is they right now have 4 kids who could be all-stars, two more, Poku and Ousmane, who might, a bunch of others who might be starting on other teams, and the real possibility given they have the Clippers and Rockets possible picks the next two years. And they are the second youngest team in the history of the NBA, second only to last year’s team.
@TriVos Ahren Sorry. As I read just now, the Thunder last year was the all-time youngest team and this year the second youngest. Can’t verify but if you go through the ages of the roster you see that Muscala is by far the oldest at 31, Kendrich Williams at 28, Lindy Waters 25, Shai is 24, Dort is 23, Isaiah Joe 23, Mann turning 22, Bazley 22, Robinson 22, Poku 21, Jaylen Williams 21, Jaylin William 20, Giddey 20, Holmgren 20, Dieng 19. That’s pretty surreal especially considering most players really mature at 24 according to Coach Mark.
I got good vibes from his camaraderie with Chet on and off the court during summer league too. I think they're going to be a good duo on the court next season.
@@scottgriekspoor1767 imagine Giddey, SGA, Poku, Chet and Dieng as a starting five if they all reach close to their potential 🤯 just a team of giant playmaking shooters. But you know… we still have 20 first round picks to go so plenty of improvement on the way 😂
Good timing, this was posted hours before Giddey would casually drop another triple double against the Miami Heat with a clutch Jimmy Butler narrowly snatching the game away from OKC (okay, SGA's shot selection and two missed Kenrich free throws helped).
Good video, good research on the year-to-year improvements. But you didn't even mention his Center-level rebounding, which involves effort and anticipation at a very high level. He's not a big, he's not a leaper, but he's got double-digit rebounds in a third of their games. That's either magic, or some ability that hasn't been full explained.
Giddey is my favorite player in the NBA. He's got to get stronger and get his confidence up so he is more consistent. He disappears at times, especially after a turnover or a bad miss. He's much better with the ball in his hands too which is not great for him playing next to SGA.
He reminds me a lot of Bird. Same height, similar passing, not that fast or athletic, but just knows basketball. He even moves like Bird. Just gotta get that shot perfected.
Thank you for emphasizing his youth. Most casual fans get into a player after he has played for a few years, at least but are incredibly impatient on a 19, 20 or 21 year-old. They can’t project how a thin kid who has played against college kids can be totally different with experience and 15-20 pounds. Think Tatum and Giannis. Also, this is why the Thunder will be vastly different in two years as Poku, Chet and as we will see Ousmane Dieng get stronger and bigger.
I wish the thunder were in contention for a top wing in this draft but regardless I love the development of this team. A top wing would make this team unstoppable
he reminds me of rick barry. not necessarily how he impacts the game (not really at all, actually) but just the way he looks out there and moves. something about his gait and non-fluid/sudden/erratic decision-making really reminds me of Barry.
I saw Rick play many times when he started out in San Francisco. I immediately was mesmerized by his intensity and incredible speed which most younger people saw. He changed his style as he got older and bigger but he still is one of the greatest. Josh’s game is different, a pass first but the comparison is very apt in their drive and intelligence, and incredibly like so many of this fascinating team, just babies. He is amazingly composed and mature.
@@charlescohen6140 i love how if you watch games from throughout Rick's careers, you can see him evolve, specifically as a passer. From a shoot-first gunner, to an exceptional quarterbackof an offense
@@allank8497 Few realize he averaged 37 per game his last year at Miami and 35 in his second GS season. He was a blur but as many NBA stars do like Walt Frazier stopped driving as it can be dangerous and became a great jump shooter and passer. He was cerebral although not the easiest person to get along with which is probably why he never succeeded as a coach or tv analyst. A great, great underrated player.
He's a fantastic passer and rebounder! Imagine if he gets a good jumper! He's only going to get better. If he can average 15pts a game then you've got a huge problem from the OKC backcourt
He's already averaging 16 points per game. That's improving as the season progresses too. Over the past 20 games or so, he's averaging the shooters' Holy Grail 50/40/90. Giddey is legit.
I’m a die hard thunder fan, not 100% sold on giddy. But if you take into effect who was drafted after him we did well. I mean I’d rather have giddy than kuminga or franz Wagner who are the only two drafted after giddy with any potential near his.
I still think Josh giddy is a tall version of Ricky Rubio good passer but offensively not so much Shai the best player on okc hands down not even close
