What's funny too is if you look carefully at the actual scene for the false police report, Charlie and Dennis are still cracking up. So they just had to go with the best take they had LOL.
opalexian b'nafia It's started to dawn on me that just about every scene that airs is a collage of snips from parts of different takes they liked and weren't cracking up in. You can really tell when you watch the blooper reels and notice that quite a few of the scenes where they were cracking up were aired, but they cut the aprt where they lost it
+Jake Rittlinger In the episode with commentary they talk about that part, Charlie said that was his first time in his whole acting career where he couldn't do a scene because of his laughing. So they just spliced up some of their better ones to put in the episode. Also, it was late on Friday night and Rob (Mac) and a lot of others were going out to the bar and they felt bad since the guy who played the cop, had to do 17 takes of that scene and stay later cause charlie couldn't get through it lol...
@@tvojslauf well it's like that for this show in particular because the actors are also the creators of it. It's not usually like that, especially on a movie set, where millions of dollars are at stake. Only the a list actors get any say there. I imagine that'd be alot of pressure if you're a lower tier actor, and especially if it's your first and only chance there.
I love that you can tell how much Glenn Howerton loves his friends, they make him laugh with like his whole soul and he hugs and touches them, like he’s a loving awesome guy, obviously the exact opposite of Dennis.
It's a gag they use alot. I believe Charlie dreamt about going to the "marriage store" with waitress. Someone also used the term "welfare store" in the crack episode
The outtakes really show what good actors all these guys are. Scenes like Dennis grabbing the fetish gear from his car. That wasn't just once, he had to bring that insane energy to the scene however many dozen times until they finally nailed it.
I love that this show was created and is written, produced, and controlled by the actors in it. Rob McElhenney (especially since he's the creator), Glenn Howerton, and Charlie Day are geniuses with this show. The fact that Danny DeVito, an incredibly accomplished actor and produce, went to them wanting to be a part of it, despite them being D-list actors at first, really says something, like he knew there was something special to the show! I agree with another comment: this show is SO underrated!
Robs listed as the creator, but I remember hearing on an episode commentary the other two saying to devito "we let him list himself as creator", seeming to imply that he first came up with the idea and came to them with it, but from that point forward they all worked together to write it and get it on television
Seriously, how is there not any from the back-office rave where Charlie dances for Dennis? I cannot see how Glenn would be able to keep a straight face for that scene haha
Whenever they would want to get high together I always assume Mary Jane but then I’d see them all batshit and remember they were huffing and just be like Jesus Christ
Amazing scene and even within this one scene his wavering vocal pitches up and down are hilarious in multiple parts (Idiots! F-fff-etish etc) but this. THIS LINE. It's unbelievable. Probably my favourite single piece of dialogue in the whole show thanks to Howerton's delivery. "I like to bind, I-I-I like to BeEE BoUNdd" so good
I agree but all the actors are true professionals if this is all the bloopers. I find this show so goddamned funny that I don't see how they get through a single scene. Maybe it just aligns well with my sense of humor, but I find this to be the funniest show I've ever seen.
Dee As just an audience I don't judge an actor by how few takes he needs to get the scene right but by the end product. For me bloopers are just a bonus, I've actually laughed harder from these bloopers than I have from the show
@D that's the best observation about one of these blooper/outtake reels that I've ever read....love it. The best part is that he does this all on his own, without being set off by any other cast member first...and that's completely rare.
Mac's slow-burning idiocy is such a great part of the show. Charlie is spectacularly stupid and Dennis is just barely smart enough to mask his ignorance, but Mac has so many great bits that make you think for two seconds before saying, "Jesus, that guy is a *moron*."
I´m not an expert...But I really find it unlikely that there´s a store that only sells burgers or even a store called The hamburger store. Well, maybe now...
Captain Obvious Yeah, and in the behind the scenes stuff all the other actors thought it was stupid. I love how Rob explained it, it's like in most shows you see the characters morally progress and as they do they get more physically attractive. And since this was a show about assholes who own a bar in Philly, it logically made since for the actors to look worse and worse as the show goes on. I agree, Fat Mac added a lot to that season, and shows true actor dedication being that he DIDINT wear a fat suit, and actually gained and lost that much fucking weight. What a champ.
Devin O'Mara i didnt think of it in the way he explained it at first. i just always knew mac wanted to "build mass" and be strong bc in his mind he is this tough badass, so to me it was just hilarious to see him be in such denial about being fat thinking he was just swoll lol.

I don't see how they got through that scene where they got interviewed by the detective and Charlie said the rapist made soup of Dennis' insides without laughing at all.
Honestly... the great thing about this show is their chemistry. You would not know from watching that they have all these bloopers. It seems so natural. Like Dee is Denis's sister and they disagree all the time... not laugh together. That's what makes the show so great for me.
That first bit with Kaitlin on the moped was funnier than I expected. Just the quick and silent procession of crew guys into the frame made me crack up
I think it's the best Sunny blooper reel. Between Dennis's "bind & be bound " scene plus "the hamburger store" & finally "fat Mac", I laugh hard every time.

3:40 is so funny. The timing is so good. I notice in these bloopers Charlie and Glenn has the best timing with each other. This part and the “holding up?”
I love that in every take the cast are finding it harder and harder to keep their shit together and you can see the crew getting more and more pissed off at them
