I would love to see a general “unique and viable builds” video, although the bar for viable has gotten a lot lower thanks to stuff like the SA and the lead sprayer,
Same, I also wondering if assassin build with smoke grenades is viable for endless health but I’m not sure if it’s just me that’s using it wrong or the way the game works but cops that die to something that isn’t me won’t mark other cops and team member smoke won’t mark for anyone else but them so it seems like it’s only good on solo only. Perhaps Kknowley can shed some light on that build
I’ve recently created a half decent build that gets me through overkill that I’ve simply named ‘demoman’ where I just run grenades, ammo bags with ammo skills so I get more ammo in those bags, and just dump skill points in to the demolition skill line along with other little things. It’s great fun, since each ammo chunk (if you used the correct skills) you get 5 grenades, and you get 8 a bag and 2 bags. Do the math. The only downside is that you REALLY have to watch out for self damage, it’s a pain.
@@DavidXanitosit’s working as intended, if you didn’t kill it or did but not with a suppressor it doesn’t count. It would likely be really op with all 4 people using it. Also if you get pin puller in CQC skill line you could also drop smokes that way
currently, my favourite build was a random decision after seeing someone else using body shields to keep naders from filling dirty ice with gas: full send manipulator tree, keep a few hostages near the objective at all times, always have a human shield, equip the new pocket awp, and spec into enforcer for that grit and edge. it's been a lot of fun on heists like dirty ice and road rage where you don't have to be as limber. oh, and the thing that really makes this build fun? that one skill that makes you immune to stagger when you have grit and edge means that swat CANNOT BASH HOSTAGES OUT OF YOUR HANDS! hearing a weird noise and turning around to see a poor swat repeatedly bashing his gun into my brick wall back and then one tapping him has been the most satisfying thing i've experienced in this game
In my opinion, this game needs to not re-work the skills, But re-do the entire system all together (edge, rush, grit). That is still the main thing that is really not making me want to play is how bad and repetitive the skills are. In PD2 you could always make something gimicky to play around with. That was the beauty of the perk decks that people don't talk about enough.
We need skills trees back. I honestly can't have fun in PD3 due to the limited same-y builds. 70% of skills are worthless and unfun. I know trees won't make the game balanced, but I am sure it is way way way easier to balance than all skills being worth 1 point. If they change it, then we might be back. Adding skill lines feel like change for the sake of change.
It would balance things a lot more is the thing, UT is just a fact that a lot of the skills are better or worse than others when you consider they all cost 1
Funnily enough, this was the build I gravitated to normally after already going into ammo funnel and plate up since launch, even if it was a bit buggy at the time. The best part is this works with almost all weapons. If you're not using a scoped weapon, you can swap extra scope damage for Med Kit reviving downs for some extra down refreshments, etc. There's so much versatility in terms of weapons and extra utilities that it's just a fun, all-round build, SA included or not. And for Triage, all buffs means one Med Kit should max your adrenaline, so it ends up being super efficient. It's just fun for all weapons.
Smokes are super underrated right now. 40% damage reduction on all cops which can now be marked due to the assassin skill death knell. Add on combat marking and threat assessment for 20% increased damage done and 20% reduced taken from all cops in smoke for a god smoke. Run with throwable build for easy games
Will definitely have to check this one out but to be honest I think I'm having way too much fun with a hipfire LMG build. Heavy stagger on every shot goes fairly nuts
I used this build. It’s insane. Just. Wow. As for a unique builds like you did back at launch? YES PLEASE. That video with those unique and wacky builds was so much fun and I genuinely want to use builds like that again. Maybe you could fit 5 builds in this time instead of 3, but I’ll take any spice up fun build. As long as I get to enjoy my Payday 3 to the fullest!
I basically already have the armor variant of this build, with slight variety (no points in medic for example) and the one thing I really struggle with is the overkill modifier Armor-Piercing Rounds in Rock the Cradle, Gold & Sharke and Touch the Sky. A build designed to soak up damage with regererative armor really crumbles against direct health damage if nobody on the team got a medic bag.
@@derandere4356 it’s a really good point against pure armour to be fair! Probably keep the modifier in mind and switch over to the fortitude variant if it’s armour piercing.

you need to try the adrenaline assassin build, you use infinite trowhables to constantly gain back health, without having a limited resource,i think that is the indisputed best build right now
I've been playing with a hip-fire LMG build that completely forgoes the micro management stuff and I just get all the core buffs from killing cops, with headshots refreshing edge, getting close up kills giving grit and suppressed kills giving rush. Its not as strong as the build you showed off but its just as flexible as the build you showed here being able to grab transporter skills, hostage trading skills and QoL skills. its a really good support build for just turning off my brain and going BRRRR all over cops and gives me the power trip fantasy i expect from heisting, while helping out my teammates with actually playing the game (its also really good in solo too)
If you want a real good build, you should use the 💜Purple💜Heart💜Healing💜Medic💜Build💜! It absolutely wipes the floor with this watered down one-shot build.
I would very much be interested in some build variety videos. Especially a hostage/human shield focused build and a smoke grenade focused build would be really cool to see. Also, perhaps a Hybrid build that works for both Stealth and Loud, as something to just bring into quick play and not worry about too much.
I personally like to have Medic line focused one where I use Combat Medic. That 5 seconds of invulnerability is so so good. Also you really do not need the scope magnification damage boost when your aim is true with the SA, SCAR or the new G3 or even the AK. Dozers shouldn't be an issue when ys have teammates backing you up. Or hell, any special in that case. It's a co-op game
Just realised how MK14 EBR (SEI?) in this game is referred to as "SA", a designation used in British nomenclature. Although come to realise; it is called "Mark" instead of "M", so I guess it was already swinging in that direction.
@@TheKknowley Small clarification in that case: SA stands for smallarm, a term used in all militaries; it's just that Britain uses it specifically for designations as names (like SA 80).
why not use the 6x time scope? wouldn't it be more powerful when it comes to dozers and maybe shields? Do its drawbacks outweight this small advantage? I mean One shot with most enemies is still an oneshot, that can't be improved.
Infinite maxed out Explosive, flashbangs maxed out for stun and marking, then just armor gating, and edge skills. :) any gun works just keep people marked and living the dream, also adds the use of tool which is nice to use as there worthless.
I find I don't particularly need the reload one because aim ace and transporter skills let you have all 3 in near perpetuity so long as you can keep on top of the bags. This way I can stay on usually 3 of 4 plates and my AI team in the right spots just never die. But for a build that wants active fun then this is probably the best for that. Also the Bullkick is so good I may run a build around it soon, got any ideas for that?
The Bullkick is wierd because it's not even as if it needs Edge to one shot! That's why it hardly needs a build setup around it. As for transporter, I completely agree if you don't mind micromanaging the bags. I find that too annoying!
@@TheKknowley maybe gunslinger to tighten the hip fire and mower for continuous ammo, then user choice of ammo, armour or health bag builds or enforcer for grit.

I don't normally comment on other people's videos, but I'm going to this time because someone sent this to me. I strongly disagree with many parts of the build. I'll try not to nitpick. I think it's a tragedy that the medic tree was so heavily invested in, yet not a single point was spared for arguably the best skill in the game other than precision shot: combat medic. I also think it's incredibly wasteful to try to spec for a hybrid build when you should commit to either going full armor or full health. As it stands, your adaptive armor will get in the way of your health, which you've invested a decent number of points in. Between armor and health, I'd recommend committing to health and just going all in with standard lining. Trust me, I've tried adaptive armor with similar builds and it's just going to be a problem. You're better off with assassin's mettle and killer kinesthetics. The armor isn't strong enough and will slow down the game for no reason.
Appreciate the comment! I also think you're wrong though. You become a resource burden if you just run health, you have a serious issue vs Cloakers and the penetration modifier if you just run armour. I've tried both extensively. For once, you're better doubling down on both playstyles.
I feel like we have too many skill points, in the beta we only had 8 and i feel like that's way better as it forces you to pick the skills you really want. Right now we have enough skill points to get every op skill and then some. (obviously every skill costing 1 point is stupid but that's a different topic)
