    Thank you sir, for not rushing though this song like most tutorials do. It is not a hard song to play, If instructors would just slooooow down. I find that to be the case with most songs which seem to be complicated. I have been playing since the 1960's and am just now able to play this song and many others thank to people like you, who take time to explain the various techniques being used in the song. Many of us are able to play the various chords, diads, triads, hammer downs, pull-offs, octaves, scales, partial scales, etc being used in many of these songs. We just need help understanding the timing, strum patterns, rests, etc. you have done an excellent job.

    Sincerely thank you for this playing example. I was able to pull most of it from your other video but the part that has been kicking me more than anything is the droning octave part. Also a couple of your embellishments are SO nice, I’ll have to steal a few. This has always been one of my very favorites along with ABC, you have done such a wonderful job with this, I honestly never thought I’d be able to play it and now I can. Top work!!! Thank you! Buddy

    Wonderful video rhythm guitar tutorial on this great song! Of course the "bass guitar shadowing" (for lack of a better term on my part) at the 19:00 minute part and beyond, was actually played in the original recording live in the studio by the great Mr. Don Peake who played along side the bass guitarist, the late Mr. Wilton Felder.

    Thanks, Dave. I've been waiting for that. Great work. Question/Hint ... I think the downs and ups in the first bar on count 2 and 3 in your tab for the octave part are switched.

    So if I just want to learn one guitar part to play with a backing track it's guitar 2 or play along with guitar 1 for the intro then do guitar 2 from then on? www.karaoke-version.com/custombackingtrack/the-jackson-5/i-want-you-back.html

    • @DavePriceGuitarist
      @DavePriceGuitarist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you could do that. On gigs I play octaves for the intro then chord work (guitar 2) for the verse and then I go back to octaves for a chorus. That's just the way I do it live with a band.
