I wish they'd stop nerfing the tankiness of melee focused ogryns gradually. They don't have mobility, a small hitbox, or the ability to deal with different kinds targets simultaneously as well as the other 3 classes. Let my Ogryn TANK. On the brightside gunluggers are really strong.
Yeah, they should buff the Ogryns tankiness instead of nerfing that aspect. It makes no sense from both a gameplay and lore perspective for the Ogryn to feel like tissue paper, which at times he does feel like and that's with stacking heaps of toughness on him.

@@user-nu7xc4wp1h I think they were being sarcastic I also think Auburn should be able to be very thank you whenever they have my enemies to beat up on there are positions where massive amounts of range enemies just feel like you auto go down as ogryn with very little ability to do much
+250% stagger on push shouldn't even be a talent and even less with a CD. It should be one of the basic traits of Ogryn to do this, we already got the downside of being a massive target with a gigantic hitbox but no real benefit of our size. Sure, we can cut puny heretics like grass with massive cleave attacks but being able to feel our mass by pushing them around or just pushing them when we sprint (maybe not stagger but just push them out of the way) to feel how big we are woul have been good an fun.

@@hankjw_40k I think that should just be a built in feature that Ogryn has. Maybe add it to Zealot as a skill as well, replace one of the more useless Zealot skills, like the Emperors Bullet skill that basically does nothing since it's pretty rare to dump an entire mag in one go on zealot, the very melee focused class.
There's the Psyker Atheneum for Pskyers, Haven't found a good one for Veteran yet (call it the Militarum Handbook), Zealot should have one just for the heck of it, yet it already seems to have things covered by other guides
For those that want to be cursed with the knowledge of what No Pushover used to do, it used to be a 20% cost reduction to pushing each time you blocked. It lasted for 5 seconds i think. Yeah pretty forgettable and deserving so. 😅
"There was a poll on reddit that showed that gun lugger was the least popular Ogryn playstyle" It's mostly because it only has 1 loadout worth using, the fast firing stubber with Light'em Up. None of the other weapons mesh with the bonuses as well and you can't even use Hail of Fire because of the ever ubiquitous bulwark negating your existence without Light'em Ups ability to penetrate shields but then that makes it kind of lackluster vs Crushers. The Rumbler just doesn't need the talent investment and the shotguns already murder hordes and if I'm getting close enough to kill armour with them I can just hit em with mi stick.
Try Rumbler with new blessing - blast zone and explosion buffs from right wing in skill tree. Its hillarius how large is explosion radius, its basically permanent stunlock of whole screen. Its qite nice with gunlugger, not the strongst build, but decent for auric domnation and definitly fun.
For what it's worth, I as a vet don't like killing ranged shit shooting at us because when I try to do that, melee enemies swarm me and bonk me on the head
@@itsteebz484 everyone is able to do it, but Vet is the best at taking out squads of shooters. it absolutely is your job to prioritize that compared to the other classes. I love playing smash-y strong melee ogryn but when I do that I constantly get torn to shreds by them even more than heavy gunners since I can at least they're a single target to get CC'd. I play vet most because teams are constantly lacking counterfire capabilities in their kits.
People always give zealots a bad wrap for rushing ahead, but veterans going down 3-4 times a mission on average and doing nothing to counter the shooters is far more common and detrimental.
@@randomhero6365 Sadly ragers and maulers can just walk right through our models so a shield ogryn can easily veil an instant knock down surprise if they're not vigilant.
Gun lugger was already quite strong not sure it needed any buffs. Ogryn was tanky but it was a trade off for poor ability to deal with ranged enemies and poor mobility. If you nerf the tankiness then buff mobility and rocks. Why does zealot have 12 knives that replenish from kills and ogryn rock only has 4 and needs to be pulled out first and recovered with a timer?
I wish parts of the Game wouldn't feel so half assed. End Screen poses still don't show the Weapon you have equipped. Events only give Dockets and Materials, there's no shiny unlock for completing a full Event, like a Skin, Ribbon or Portrait frame. There's no endgame. All i have for endgame is the True Level Mod to make Number go up.
your endgame should be being skilled enough that you can just quickplay into an auric high intensity shock troop gauntlet and still roll through it without going down on any class.
The endgame now is to fulfill your mastery on all weapon families, a few patches ago added a whole bunch of penances to complete with a progression bar that gives rewards on top of the penance completion. I agree the events are always lackluster with the same old same old collect, kill, damage for dockets and plasteel, and they always just change one enemy model to make it ‘unique’. Though the only thing that matters is your enjoyment of the game.

3:38 Looks like a 8.5% increase to area, relative to the old +22.5% value. a. so if the base radius is 1, the area is 3.14 (pi) b. +22.5% was a 50% larger area (4.71 / 3.14) c. +27.5% is a 62% larger area (5.11 / 3.14) EDIT: corrected above numbers for 22.5% (was 25%). With that correction, the change seems pretty meaningful (though still not a huge change).

I really want to love the Bullgryn talent tree but the heavy attack keystone lasts far to short. Its actually stressful making sure you keep fighting and landing your heavy attacks to build stacks or to stay at max stacks and I commonly have them wear off in mid combat because I had to reposition.
That's almost piston power from VT2 Engineer, Ogryn really is dwarf. I always used to run mk 4 knife on my gunlugger but since jumping back in I find I keep getting hit by maulers, I remember the dodge window was always tighter on ogryn than zealot or vet but if I spawn in 6 in the testing area it's a real nighmare to fight them. You have to be way more defensive than I ever remember being. IDK if they buffed their attack speed or stagger, but I dodge one and then can't dodge the second, or they don't stagger from overhead. Compared to zealot or vet, or even the same ogryn build with a karsolas pickaxe it's night and day. The pickaxe also somehow has less of a dodge debuff than the knife.
Damn i wanna play this game so bad but then i see all the badass skins that are paid for money and like the one your wearing is badass but i bet it already shuffled through and i gotta wait a year for a reskin of it to come back to buy with real money...... ughh.
There's lots of decent outfits for zealot, psyker and veterans you unlock by doing penances/challenges with some variety in them. The Ogryn suffers from everything being straps, shirts and pants... and at the very end of the penances you get some gladiator, junkyard warrior armor.
There are now a lot of pretty good outfits now from penances and in the ingame shop. You can get some decent drip going for $0 in cosmetics, thank goodness.
Have to agree. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of thought put into Oggy's tree. The paths are the most locked off, and there is not much you want that isn't down the tree you're already going. It feels like they're treating Ogryn players as stupid and incapable of a complex talent tree 😢

They've been indirectly nerfed. Ripper MK.V could consistently stab a mauler then shoot 1 burst and kill. Now it requires 2 bursts. This is with a Branx pickaxe melee build.
Ogryn got 2 nerfs and 4-5 buffs. Remember when Veteran players cried that their class was murdered when the skill trees came out, or Zealots coping and seething when Invocation of Death and Inexorable Judgement were nerfed? Ogryn received two tiny slaps on the wrist, it's not a big deal imo.
If they keep going, no one will want to play Ogryn. Nerf after nerf while adding nothing interesting. It’s already the least played class by a large margin. Got to be rough leveling a new one in public matches.
The Pickaxes are the best and coolest melee weapons in the game though! Ogryn is getting buffs to his underperforming talents while getting slapped on the wrist for his super high Toughness damage resistance. You are still way more resilient to chip damage than every other class.

now multiply that by the base blast radius of the ogryn frag bomb of 16.5 meters and it becomes a MASSIVE total area increase.

Gunlugger has been my main since I started darktide, I'm surprised it's the least popular build route
Its the least popular build because not playing with charge hinders your movement and youre already slow.
