Agreed, they became my favorite in 2012 after losing one of my best friends to suicide. His favorite song was "Hero" and I started listening to it, REALLY listening to it and then more and more of their songs. Just over 2 months later I lost my other best friend to his demons as well. They've helped me maintain my sanity and heal.
Spider-Man, their songs are soul healing indeed including with this song that talks about how we're not alone in our darkest nights because we trust in God as our Refuge Who defends us. In the end, we will make it because He fills our hearts with His power and His Word that no one can take. I love Skillet too. They're my second favorite band overall after Icon For Hire and my favorite Christian band.

I’ve literally been following this band since around 2002. And back in the day, my old band could of opened up played with for Skillet ❤️
That’s about when I started listening. At first, I couldn’t get used to the drummer, but after I got used to the beat, I couldn’t stop listening. Almost 20 years later, they will alway be my favorite band.

One of my favorite things about Skillet is how they include both hard, energetic rock as well as soft and emotional music in their albums. Such a balanced band
The way they write their songs, it can be interpreted as a song for or by God, or not. They set it up perfectly for either lens to see it.

Can't exactly have a song like Alien Youth, Earth Invasion, Rippin Me Off, Their Ardent Worship album, the intro into Salvation, and some others be anything other than Christian. But yes, many songs can be interpreted from a non christian point of view, which is why they do stuff in the mainstream as well. I like that about them. Music should be for everyone to enjoy. I've seen them 31 times, been backstage with them, listened to them for 20 years.
My comment is directed to the fact they always have a chill song on each album that gets on the Christian radio. (90% Christian radio doesn't play any rock music)

I’ve loved skillet since comatose- have had the privilege to see them live about 4 times. Also listen to cooper stuff podcast. This song has perfect timing in my life as my family is navigating some very heavy stuff right now. Thank you John and Skillet for this. Thank you God for giving them their talents.

I am blown away by this song and it came at the perfect time. With my wife and I unemployed, bank accounts drained, faith is wavering as bills pile up, the words that I just heard kind of help you to stand back up and look to the only One that can give peace and strength to weather these storms. Every song they have come out with has given our family another hand hold to bring us up. This song was one of those. Amazing song from an amazing artist. Can't be matched!
Today I celebrate 12 years with the love of my life and this was the perfect song to listen to waking up with her this morning! I cannot tell you how much I love this song and the timing from God could not be any more perfect! This is just one reason why you are my favorite band. You don't know it but your music has helped me as I got sober, helped in my depression, and saw me as I met and married the love of my life. I saw Skillet 4 times this year at Winter Jam. My 21 year old Autistic Son had suicidal thoughts. He tried killing himself a few times. God used Skillets music to set him free. God and Skillet saves my sons life. I'm a Christian Content Creator and endure intense spiritual warfare. Skillets music helps me endure it. Skillet is awesome. Finally! A ballad that feels more like old Skillet. This song is You Are My Hope + a bit of Stars. Better than Anchor for sure.
During these last couple of years I've been plagued with anxiety that has caused me to lose about 15 pounds And have horrible panic attacks but through it all God has been faithful.. I absolutely love this song. So much truth. I found out I have a brain tumor and about to get into surgery. This song really has has an impact on knowing I’m not alone.

Valley of Death hit home...and Beyond Incredible, and Refuge. My chest is heavy all the time, but Jesus is where I catch my breath. Cooper wrote a good book. Our family is reading it together.
