Gulab Jamun Mix is a popular instant mix used to make Gulab Jamun, a traditional Indian dessert. To make Gulab Jamun use the mix, follow these steps:
Ingredients:
- 1 packet Gulab Jamun Mix (available in most Indian grocery stores) MTR
- 1/2 cup of lukewarm milk
- Ghee or oil for frying
- Sugar -2 cups
Instructions:
1. Open the Gulab Jamun Mix packet and pour the contents into a bowl.
2. Add 1/2 cup of lukewarm milk to the bowl and mix well to form a smooth dough.
3. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes soft and pliable.
4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
5. Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a small lemon.
6. Heat ghee or oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
7. Fry the dough balls until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
8. Remove the fried dumplings from the oil and soak them in sugar syrup (if using).
9. Serve the Gulab Jamun warm or chilled.
Tips:
- Use lukewarm milk to make the dough.
- Knead the dough well to ensure the dumplings are smooth.
- Don't over-fry the dumplings.
- Use a good quality Gulab Jamun Mix for the best flavor.
To make Jamun, you can follow the same steps as above, but use a different mix or make the dough from scratch using milk powder, flour, and ghee.
To mix Gulab Jamun with Jamun, you can simply combine the two desserts together in a bowl and serve. You can also add a splash of rose water or cardamom powder to enhance the flavor.
