Always had a soft spot for Aberdeen ever since a mate of mine came down to London from Aberdeen to work, he was an Aberdeen nut and used to come to watch West Ham with me because he missed football so much. Best of luck to you all and much success.
5:00 Westhill will thus gain MASSIVE economic benefits then. The Stadium isn't even in Westhill itself. Take Ross County FC for example. They have a stadium that has a capacity of more than their population - but it brings tourism and economic benefit to the whole area. Why don't we just cancel the Highland Games in the likes of Aboyne and Braemar, where instead of double the population, 5-10 times the population attend. That would destroy tourism and destroy the fame of the area. Rejecting this stadium would basically be doing the same.
No it won't impact the road you idiot. The bypass will have a junction right by the stadium, as well as shortly after to the North East of Westhill. That is a pathetic argument.
Westhill is a feeder town for Aberdeen, the majority of it relatively new. Makes the case for complaining about new constructions even weaker. The argument that there will be no economic benefit to the town is simply ludicrous. As for the population increase - how many thousands travel to the office area just outside Westhill each day? How many use travel to use the Park and Ride? How many travel to use the Tesco? Westhill is more than used to an influx of people on a daily basis.
People saying “oh it’ll increase traffic” on one day a week and sometimes two not 365/366 days a year also there’s a parking lot they won’t just park anywhere we only do that now because there’s no proper parking and now the grass by the driving range has been blocked by the council
5:30 'Everybody will be exiting the Stadium at the same time.' Do you even have a clue of how match days work? The losing side leave first, and then the winning side (especially if that is the home team) will stay a bit after the match and go gradually in their own time, and then probably go their own ways into Westhill for food or shopping, or direct back to their homes, either in Aberdeen, or in Deeside and the wider area. THERE WILL NOT BE 20,000 CARS ON THE SAME ROAD AT THE SAME TIME HEADING IN THE SAME DIRECTION. NOR WILL THERE BE EVEN 5,000.
An empty field is inappropriate for a Stadium is it? Well fine then, but when other companies want to buy the land for either property development or a business park, you can expect the same levels of traffic or 'doubling of the population' as you would with a Stadium. 06:23
cant even watch it tbh - the opening sequence of climbing the steps at king st / padock end was always my favourite bit - going thru those doors and seeing the beach end and floodlights ; tinny tannoy noise and smell of tobacco -old Div 1 with my Dad
Stupid location for a stadium its miles out of Aberdeen, redevelop Pittodrie or build it on the Lynx, it is possible. If they build Kingsford after a few home games and the novelty wears off crowds will go down below 10k.
Very good short movie, we as a club & a city need to move with the times. Yes Pittodrie holds loads of good memories for generations of Dons fans, but that's all they are, memories. We can create new ones at the new stadium and take the club into the 21st century. COYR **
SMilne at helm ensure we stayed afloat during dark times ; but for sure got his pound of flesh out of the relationship ; and ensured we would have to move (we had bought all the land behind the south stand for future expansion = there is flats on the old gasworks now)
Exactly... Two multi-millionaire chairmen guilty of sitting on their hands have left us with a stadium not fit for purpose..... Much as I love the place it is now an embarrassment.

Stand free brothers , where ever you end up we will visit COYR...COYS
Well balanced wee video. Sad to leave Pittodrie but time to move on if we can't redevelop there.
I hope Aberdeen get planning permission from the council yous really do need a new stadium
When was the last time Scotland got a new football stadium? Celtic Park "renovation"?
St. Mirren's new gaff, Tony Macaroni
Coming from a Celtic fan
@@harrisstar9917 Pittodrie looks like it’s falling apart
I think a new stadium would be good for the club and the game here in general. Sentiment is all great but you have to progress.

I've been going to pittodrie since the '80 s, going to miss it.

There are pedestrian crossings already in a place near to the proposed site if I am right, and if not then they WILL be added. 5:43
I am sooo buzzing for the new stadium but I am going to be RELLY RELLY amotinal when we haft to leave Pitttodrie 😥 but COYR 🔴⚪️

Robert McIntosh nah but we need a training complex
Robert McIntosh go fuck urself you fucker hun it’s happened and you can’t stop it 😂😂😂😂
The whole city is expanding, in years to come that road will be full of buildings, houses etc..
If the council don't approve this new Stadium, there will be hell to pay.

That new stadium is underwhelming
We need to move but I will always remember Pittodrie
Yes to kingsford
Brilliant movie and gives a fair hearing to both sides. I think the new stadium would be great. Westhill needs a boost, as does Aberdeen itself.
great stuff!
Very good video :)
Thank you very much.
Have they got money to pay for it
Great video btw guys. New sub and follower on Twitter too. :)
