Back in the old days, people thought or knew United States Marines went out on ships and wore blue coats and white pants. Maybe that's why the instructions or the pictures on the box convinced you to paint the figurines the same as what people thought or knew they were like in the old days. Thank you for this video, Captain.

It just seemed fitting. I know it wasn’t necessarily true to reality but eh it gave the effect.

@@LCModelBuilding Oh, but artists who were in the Marines painted pictures of the United States Marines when they were on one of the U.S.S. Wasps in the war of 1812. At least 5 ships had the name U.S.S. Wasp, so what you did is even better than you give it credit for, Brother.

A tip for future reference-speaking as a former Marine with their artillery regiment (11th Marines), all cannons are mounted to carriages. Not so much carts 😊
Finishing up the last of the footropes and blocks on the Main Mast on my build right now-looking forward to starting the Mizzen.

Great work there Larry.. cannons, ropes and gun crews are done beautifully. It's like you can see them getting ready to exchange broadsides. In regards of the 1812 war I'd like to say on behalf of all Brits.. I do apologise for the hardships my people gave yours more than 200 years ago. I know none of us we're born back then and we didn't have the morals and common sense of civilised nations as we do now but.. to you and all other Americans.. I'm sorry for what my country did to yours. Now looking at the ship your making, it looks epic.. coming along nicely.. I remember seeing model maker Gary Brinker doing the same thing when he was building the HMS Bounty and the Blue nose, sail ships are way beyond my skills but I love watching talented model makers like yourself making these. Coming along great, this is going to be a masterpiece when done. Great log update.. captain 👍

No need to apologize to me that’s part of both our country’s history. I’d say in the long run it all worked out as we became each others biggest allies. Thank you for the compliments, down the road when I do victory it will probably be a very similar build. With a lot more cannons.

@@LCModelBuilding That's something I couldn't word any better, yes.. we're side by side each other now. Your very welcome for the thanks, I've heard HMS Victory can be a challenge but with skills like yours, you can nail it no problem.

Yet again a much anticipated video. At times though, your demo tends to go off the bottom of the screen and we can only guess what is happening! Keep up the good work. Much appreciated.

Thanks. I tried to catch it while filming. I am getting a small monitor so I’ll be able to see as I’m filming. Should be here bedside the next video.
Thanks for watching and your comment!

Nice work, the cannons look so much better with all the tackle and rigging in place. Where did you find the files for the crew?

I started a simultaneous build of two of these kits: one with no sails, the second under full sail, with a standard crew complement whilst under way upon the high seas.
The rest is a long story.

Your guns look better and better as you go along. I know it sounds weird, but if you refrigerate your super glue when not in use, it lasts longer. We do that with the stock at the Hobby Shop I work at.

Hmm I’ll give that a go. Interesting!

I have a NON Ship suggestion... I have a project going for a car... We need a Pro model builder to work with us and show it off as a "Sponsor Build"...

Larry thanks so much for the tutorial on the cannon rigging. I’m working on one of these I started in 1969 and am now finishing with scaledecks and accessories. Quick question: for the lower deck scaledecks did you shave off the ridge on the deck where the cannons butt up against before applying the scaledecks? It won’t sit flat unless we do that, right?
Thanks for your great build videos!

Yes I did. I did not show it in the video, but I did go back and cut it flat with a razor. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!

It appears your back pull is chockablock meaning you won’t be able to pull the gun back to reload. They look great though.

Thanks Scotty. May not be 100% accurate, doing my best though. I’m on gun 5 of 22. Very time consuming process!
