People having B. Arch (Bachlor of Architecture) background in graduation after getting into GNR in IITB, does they do well too? What kind of job roles they get in placement ? Also how many did place in core this year ? Can you please share a bit?
Arch guys do well basically it doesn't really matter from which dept you come from, everyone here does well. Majorly the job roles for GNR are Data Scientist, AI ML Engineer, Researcher. This year only 1 gets placed in core, no one prefer core as they do not pay well.
Hi I am From EnTC background and want to get into iitb for GNR, So which Gate papers should I give to be eligible,Previously in TY I had given GE and CS and my Rank was 960 for GE and 29K in CS.So what should I do to get into GNR.And am i eligible to give interview as an BTech EnTC student if I had not given EnTC paper
Yeah you are eligible for admission if you have taken GATE CS or GE... It doesn't matter you come from which department however EnTC is eligible to get into GNR.... Prepare well around your best subjects all the best
GNR is far better because the scope of PhD is more advanced i guess when compared with remote sensing, you will get to know a lot of interdisciplinary things which makes your Thesis a more advanced and opens up multiple gates for collaboration as well.
What is package of the agriculture engineering background students. I am 4th year agriculture engineering student. Is there any difficulty in completing this carriculum as an agriculture engineering background??
There is no such different package scenario for agricultural engineering students, everyone will be treated as GNR students. Just to make you realise the highest package from our dept is an agricultural student. And talking about the difficulty that happened to everyone, it's an interdisciplinary course so courses are very new to everyone.

My gate score from civil is 697
IIT Bombay is very hectic for at least 1st yr of MTech, any department any course. You have to really work hard to manage some time for preparation.
Are placements interview related to coding only ? Do the company prefer CS/IT/ECE background students over other students ?
