- Masala chai is a heart and soul of Indian Street Food, you’ll fine a tea vendor in every nook and corner of the City. Recently, a tea made with a special recipe and poured into a hot kulhad (clay cup) has become the talk of the town.
What makes this tea different from the others is its quirky preparation style; wherein, empty kulhad or clay pot is pre-heated in tandoor and then half cooked tea is poured in it. It eventually gets fully brewed. Tandoori chai is sure to please your taste buds.

This tea is fully hygenic and has a good taste..for people who dont know..the pot used is been heated with charcoal..and it is been removed safely without any ash remaining inside it..the ash doesnt stick to it..it is been cleared..so its hygenic and is worth to drink this tea without any issue.

I’d try it, too if social protocols of Masks and appropriate Social Distancing norms are in place. The way the customers are falling over one another to get their cups - it is shocking! It is unsafe - totally!!! During these times of COVID -19, how can the proprietors be so callous and indifferent? I’d rather not satisfy my wish of drinking this tandoori chai, than get myself into a dangerous situation!! God save those courageous people who would go into such an irresponsible crowd!!🤭🤨

Oh!, that seems to be like English tea, or a version of it.
I haven't tried this Tandoori chai shown in the video, although have an impression that this tea is gaining popularity in India.
I prefer Earl grey tea (no milk and sugar) with a small piece of Dark chocolate. As a matter of fact, I am having one right now. :)

Tea in Bombay generally tastes like a glass of water mixed with 5 drops of milk and 3 drops of tea

One doubt that I have, as you are putting Chai in red hot pot, won't ash be mixed with it?
Ash will be mixed and in tandoori u see black soot which is carbon, leads to colon cancer, it's just a new trend to make some money.
Of course it's gonna mix with tea and who ever is consuming this tea on regular basis. He/She should get good health insurance because soon will be visiting oncologist.

It's just a normal tea mixed finally with the hot mud pot gives a smooth smoky flavour added to give you more strong feel.
As an American you can assume it as a delicious chicken curry but added with a smokey tandoori flavour.
So, yes it be a mix of both flavours --- you love this fusion if you like Tea.
This same method can be done with Tea, Milk & Coffee also.
