    Prices are higher....but, you only live once. Treat yourself and have a great time doing it.

    Oh man! I thought this was a lot long, and not just 2 hours. I bet it's still amazing!

      The train track used to be much longer than the 2 hrs when it was used to move stuff thru the mountains to mining towns. Now it is just out and back. The Rocky Mountaineer train from Denver to Glenwood Springs or Moab is a true train ride thru the heart of the mountains. Pricey.. but a fun experience.

    I love this scenic train ride. Brought back memories asa kid growing up in NewZealand. My nan used to take us on a railcar ride from Napier to Gisborne for the day. Big shout out to Nick our waiter, top class service. 🙏🏽🩷💯🇺🇸love the Beautiful USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏽🩷

      High praise!! But a train ride in NZ sounds pretty amazing tho.

    Been across the pedestrian bridge. There was a zip line there but was closed for the season.

    • @HashtagColoradoLife

      Was it a windy day? It's a bit unnerving to be in the middle of the bridge and the wind causes it to sway and the bridge moves a bit with each step.

    I remember doing this at least ten years ago when I was in elementary school. I remember my grandma got a reserved table in the dining car and I remember the train ride being really short but it was really fun

    • @HashtagColoradoLife

      How fun! Yes, the train ride is about an hour long but it's a great memory and fun time for a special event.

    Tickets are 80-100$ per person. I went 3years ago and they were 35 Per person. So sad to see the price gauging.

    • @HashtagColoradoLife
      @HashtagColoradoLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it's true that prices have increased quite a lot over the years. As with many things sadly.

      They nail you on the “once in a lifetime opportunity.” Same concept as all the other tourist traps.

      @@HashtagColoradoLife Just glad they make it to keep the train in business. I've see n people drop a couple hundred on a restaurant experience. Not so bad price really.

      @@donaldclifford5763 Defo agree. The venue (the train) is the star -- not the food!

    Looks awesome, how many days in advance do we need to make the reservations? Can you please tell. Thanks!

    • @HashtagColoradoLife
      @HashtagColoradoLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There isn't a specific time when you need to book. However, tickets do sell out often sell out, especially on the weekends. So we suggest booking at least a week or two in advance. When we booked our tickets we did it a month in advance. Hope this helps! 👍

    Cool video but going through the gorge I'd be worried about falling rocks

    • @HashtagColoradoLife
      @HashtagColoradoLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The train is very safe so there isn't a lot to worry about but yes, this is Colorado and you can even see falling rocks on the mountain roads while you're driving.

    Is this a 2 hr trip total? Do you ever get down or is it just a ride

    • @HashtagColoradoLife
      @HashtagColoradoLife  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, its a 2 hour trip in total going out and back. You can get outside and view the ride from the back of the train in the open air. But it doesn't stop and let you out of the train or anything.

    Which side has the best scenic views?

    • @HashtagColoradoLife
      @HashtagColoradoLife  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great question! Either side is perfect because the train goes out and back so you'll see both sides along the way. However, the river is on the southside while the canyon/mountains are on the north side.

    I remember when there was an old west town located by the gorge I think the Koch Brothers bought it and moved all the old buildings out totally destroying the little town

    • @HashtagColoradoLife
      @HashtagColoradoLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Buckskin Joe's!! Actually that place is still there (I think). It's indeed not in use anymore but the buildings remain (as of 2022 last I was there)

    Do they sit random people in front of you? I want to go with my partner but would not like a random couple in front of us!

    • @HashtagColoradoLife
      @HashtagColoradoLife  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      When we did it (just the two of us) we were indeed sat across from another couple we didn't know. So I would imagine more of the same.
      2 solutions:
      go on a double date with friends so all 4 spots are taken.
      buy 4 tickets and sit next to no one! lol

      My wife and I went on a cruise a few months ago for the first time. I can chat with strangers if I’m in the mood so the idea of sitting by them didn’t sound appealing. But, I actually had a great time chatting with random people and just connecting with other humans.
