Greatest feature in any recording DAW. All daws that record should have this quick punch feature period! You never wanna miss a take. Quick punch should automatically be on on every song you record be default PERIOD!!
This helps cause when I rap. I say a few line stop, say another stop. I do that throughout the verse and I didn’t know how to actually punch in without making a whole another track
So when you are recording yourself, you can't hit the space bar. It was initially giving me a pre-roll of a few bars before the punch it. But now when I have pre-roll on, it's going back to the top instead of where I have it marked. Why is that? Not sure what I hit to change it.

Hi, I watched this video but I still cant seem to work my pro tools. I have a scarlett solo 2 nd gen and mac computer along with my microphone. My issue is that my microphone is picking up sound as far as i can tell because the light lights up around my microphone light on my scarlett solo. But when I go to hit record, the mic still picks up sound but does not actually record any sound, it is just a flat line. The 48 V is pushed in, gain is all the way up and playback engine is set on scarlett solo and record. The cord can't be broken because the mic light on my scarlett shows me that it is picking up the sound but on pro tools when I'm recording it only shows a flat line on the red bar. Do you have any other advice? Thanks!
I just create a sub track call me lazy but I cut the bad part before hand And let the artist catch the beat when ever they want I know it’s extra but if it ain’t broke why fix it
