- Vietnam Requiem was a 1982 ABC News Closeup television documentary directed by Bill Couturié and Jonas McCord and photographed by Ted Haimes. It is about the post-traumatic stress disorder suffered by veterans. The film comprises interviews with five Vietnam War veterans then in prison for crimes committed after discharge, inter-cut with news footage from the time of the war, with narration by Peter Thomas.
I served with Albert Dobbs in the 101st Airborne Alpha Company 4th platoon 2nd squad 2/502, I was there in that footage in the rain at 5:10 you see a black soldier without a helmet, that was my squad leader Percy Beasley 2nd squad 4th platoon he was killed in a fire fight in August or September 1967. In that same fire fight a helicopter had landed across the river to evac our wounded, that's when I saw Albert helping some guys carry out a wounded soldier, I remember that because Albert Dobbs carried a western style revolver (pistol) , as I looked up at him he had a wound in the middle of his forehead that looked like a bullet wound but most likely a shrapnel wound, he looked pissed, I was firing my M79 grenade launcher in that fire fight. That helicopter was later hit with a mortar round as I was crossing the river (stream) one mortar round exploded right in front of me.
My dad was 101st Airborne in Vietnam 1970 January. A good site to go to is HONOR STATES and WALL OF FACES if you want to find guys who did not come home.

I left a week early from my 30 day leave before going to Nam, ahead of my Ft.Polk. tiger Land training brigade. Didn't know anyone in my assigned unit. Came home on a C-141 hospital plane. Strange times.
At 8:50 he says he sees demons .
WW2 soldiers and marines also came back home on board troop trains that were pulled by steam locomotives such as the Reading T1s like for ex 2102 which were equipped for troop train service if needed
