The Attack of Returning Vets is overblown. It’s propaganda used by government to ensure support for all their wars in the future.

Great documentary. This needs to be seen and learned by all Americans. This is the worst part of war. The damage done mentally and violence ingrained into the soul. I have had many problems and struggked with both of these issues. We need to have special courts dedicated to our own special unique problems after returning to society

Presidential assassination vice president becomes president of the gigantic construction company brown and root and much of that company went to Vietnam and did a lot of work there in civil service so you know it's kind of symbiotic relationship at the expense of the American youth again and again and again and again and again and then until they designed the medoff scandal which was something to destroy the middle aged people who have so much money invested in their homes and industrial complex is an evil evil entity in a superpower country that controls so much they literally destroyed all homes and then turn around and created a synthetic boom financially where everybody had to have homes rebuilt the economy started blowing people started making money again of course all the older people can't start over anymore and now they have to try to survive on what they do pay in a monthly note because they know they'll be too old to be able to get above the interest rateprincipal pay for in a 30-year loan what a true travesty of how a government can feed on its own people like some kind of cancer that the industrial complex is making so much money from democracy have some terrible holes in it that has destroyed so many people along the way many.

The Vietnam war.....the "gift" that keeps on giving. I am a Vietnam/Draft resistor. There is a saying, "by their fruits you shall know them". Vietnam was a multi-facet tragedy that still effects America 50 years later. These people are a microcosm of it.

I left a week early from my 30 day leave before going to Nam, ahead of my Ft.Polk. tiger Land training brigade. Didn't know anyone in my assigned unit. Came home on a C-141 hospital plane. Strange times.

Vietnam was a tragedy politicians knew or should have known we should not have been there. There was an opportunity to make money and they took it. I was there 19 months got to know the vietnamese very well both sides. The good thing about today's electronic communication (not the media) computers cell phones etc. Crooked politicians can't hide anymore it is like they are all naked in a showroom window. For all to view so take a good look. Make your judgements accordingly. Good Bless All.

First time seeing this. It resonates. I was born in 84 enlisted in 02. Landed in Korea with the Manchus of 2 ID. Then i found myself in Iraq. pcs to Bragg and Got the hell out in 08. These men could have been in my unit by the way they talk their mannerisms. War sucks.

As somebody else said before, Song 19 from Paul Hardcastle brought me here. I am from Chile I am 53 years old, teacher of english and I grew up with this song. I have watched many films and documentaries about Vietnam war and I keep the highest respect for American victims due to this unwanted and compulsory participation. Many of them forgotten. Just like John Rambo said in the first film something like this : " I was encharged of expensive machines, drove sophisticated vehicles and now , back in my country I can't even find a job washing cars" Sad but true. I think , Stallone did it great cause he made Americans try to respect and understand Vietnam vets. My humble opinion

Actually in WWII combat was worse for soldiers as in Europe troops came under fire every day during the Battle Of The Bulge and in the Pacific theatre US soldiers and marines had to fight the brutal and relentless Japanese forces in the island campaigns like Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan and most famously Iwo Jima

WW2 soldiers and marines also came back home on board troop trains that were pulled by steam locomotives such as the Reading T1s like for ex 2102 which were equipped for troop train service if needed

with the wars going on right now it is as if we learnt nothing from this travesty.

1:46 : this man's analogy about sending his kids down the street is dead on. The nation should have been there for them. Hopefully America will treat its veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan better than it did its men in Vietnam.

America has got to hang its head in shame for the way these men were treated. They deserved better.

Born in ‘66.....by the time I was five and the US finally crashed out of Saigon, Cambodia and Vietnam were my background soundtrack, whilst things were going downhill in Northern Ireland.....Soldiers, Soldiers everywhere, Death n Sadness and no one cares.... Sitting here in ‘23 and this is just as powerful, if not more so, than in ‘82, when it was filmed..... I remember an Officer from the Scots Guards, that had battled up Mount Tumbledown in the Falklands, describing the difference in sound that a high velocity rifle round makes when it hits a body, as opposed to stone, or earth...and you’re straight back in the room with Sgt Dodds.....sad, sad stuff.....
