This engine was built in 1934 and is rated 132 horsepower @ 265 rpm.

We used this very engine and the crossley in 16 cotton grinding factories in nigeria where I was chief engineer for eleven years between 71 and 83. The sound of this engine under full load is something to remember. The good old days
They’re really nice engines. It’s a shame that they stopped making them a long time ago.

They used these in tea factories in sri lanka .in fact Great Western estate Talawakelle had one in the fifties perhaps it is still there

Diesel-powered, not steam-powered. The engine makes 132 hp at 265 rpm.
How much does this engin cost?
An engine like this probably would’ve only costed a few hundred dollars back in the day; now they go for tens of thousands.
if I write,, very nice,, It will be not true. I feel it 100x more than nice, but I can not find word to say it...
Don't worry, there are plenty of other words for nice that you can feel free to use.
.......and it has the ability (provided it continues to be as well looked after as it is today) to be making that same lovely BOOFF-clack in another hundred years - doesn't it?
