The folks at DJI were able to enlighten me regarding installing the 2.35:1 markings on the Pocket 3 LCD. On the Pocket 3 LCD screen, swipe down to bring up the Control Menu. The "nut-like" icon in the far left lower line, when selected pulls up a "Setting Menu". Scroll down to the "Reference Line" -select it. There are 2 options (1) Grid and (2) 2.35:1 Guides. Make sure that the 2.35:1 Guides is turn on. Note this only works with a screen selected at 16:9. When you exit the Control Menu, you will note 2 single lines, Top and Bottom, have appeared on the LCD screen. These 2 lines mark the Top and Bottom of the 2.35:1 aspect ratio area. The recorded video will not contain upper and lower bars. One will have to crop in post to achieve the final visual aspect ratio with black bars, Top and Bottom.
This is exactly what I said to you: settings, grid. But I am sure all of those like you that did not read the manual will benefit from your detailed description. Thanks.
After upgrading my Pocket 3 firmware to V01.05.10.01 and the MIMO app to the latest versions - V01 2..1.8, I have been unable to find what you've described as 2.35:1 markings on the LCD. Can you provide more details on how to find the markings ? Thanks - Best from Houston TX
@@markr041 - In my iOS version (iPhone 16 Pro) - V01.05.10.01 or the MIMO app V01 2.1.8 there is no reference or any drop down for a 2.35:1 grid. However, when Video is selected in the MIMO app, when one gently touches the iPhone screen in the general area around the N/S/E/W compass icon, a faint dotted outline (which resembles a 2.35:1 aspect ratio) will briefly appear, then disappear. This will occur whether or not the GRID menu is Off/Gridlines/ Grid + Diagonals is selected. Nothing appears in the GRID menu mentioning 2.35:1 aspect ratio. I suspect that if you are using different brand smart phone, there may be a yet to be implemented 2.35:1 grid which is not yet working for the iPhone. Thanks for your earlier reply to my question.
