true2.. i cant understand why people exaggerate mal in books..i think he just fine and have his own reasons ..but he always stay by her side no matter what.maybe sometimes jealousy and insecurity gets through him but he never truly leave alina.. i mean during second book mal and alina are not always together alone..alina lead the grisha and seen close to nikolai while mal just play her guard..can you imagine..powerful girlfriend and a prince charming while he just an ordinary army.i understand his feeling. in the third book i just feel bad for him..when they at the mountain..he so excited to show the beautiful thing that nikolai made to see that alina and nikolai holding arms walking at stairs..then he pretend to go somewhere else.during that same time nikolai and alina kiss..i feel really bad for mal
but im glad they are endgame though..they always meant to be together.. alina's power attract the darkling and nikolai but mal always with her since day one. i cant understand why people hate mal so much so they can ship alina and the darkling.

so true I haven’t read the books (I loved the show so definitely buying the books) I tend to always like the bad guys/villains but I could not like Darkling, he makes a great villain but what he did to Alina is just terrible I don’t understand how people can want them to be together. The whole show all Mal’s done is look after his best friend the hate he gets is odd.
