The film itself is fantastic, but for me the score elevates it to a masterpiece on the same level as The Dark Knight. Tragic and disturbing, but also beautiful and comforting. God I love this movie.
It’s a far better film than the Dark Knight imo. For me TDK is very safe, very plain tonally, despite the hype. I can’t buy that Bruce Wayne as a scarred individual, he’s treating it as a job and not an obsession, the joker has no depth, comes across as a Jigsaw type villain who’s actually very sane, where the makeup just feels forced
It's funny how modern audiences find comfort in tragedy, isn't it? Maybe it's because there's less honesty in film today, but we crave to feel as much as we crave to entertain
This movie is a masterpiece. I couldn't count how many times I've re-watched it... sometimes I even put it on in the background, when Im working, or when Im feeling like shit.. because the melancholic atmosphere somehow feels good to me. I can honestly say this movie has helped me through some bad times, and I cannot explain why. Its just comfy to have on.
I watched it four times in it's theatrical release then this year many more times each time for the acting and storyline. Now I'll let the music take me on that journey.
I think the bathroom dance is amazing, for me it signifies calm and peace for the character as arthur fleck and joker meet and become the same person. Like he's finally given in to his alter ego "the joker". The music really brings it together in that scene.
Fiction yes, but I feel the truth in this film and it hurts. More and more of us shouldn’t just walk by. It’s getting darker now. That said this film is a masterpiece and a warning.
Every chord of this magnificent music makes me feel every second of suffering, sadness, and helplessness that Arthur Fleck felt. A masterpiece to never forget.
This movie empowers me, i’ve seen it a month ago and it makes me a new person with a new personality giving me a feeling i have never felt before. This movie has helped me, unlike the reviews of people saying this will make you want to become like the joker and become bad, yes it may have showed me what i could become but it shows me not to become that but this music is so powerful, words cannot describe it. It really helps out

Yes thank you. I am still waiting to write more after my studies for an exam coming up are done. But I have a few chapters done from months ago. Still have it all planned out I just need free time which I don't have . I actually listened to the song tonight while studying. Yes it is about early childhood. But the fact that movies like this are based off of events that happen in real life makes me stop and wonder if we even have a future. If we can’t even take care of our own, what chance do we have out there?
Ha! I literally saw a scene from this movie and thought, “That music is incredible, I can’t wait till the soundtrack comes out.” Yet, somehow you’ve already uploaded the songs I was admiring. Thank you!
Their Darker side? How about tge dark side of the people that made them down trodden. If you think this movie was about Arthur Fleck, you missed the fucking point of the entire damn movie. It is about the sick society that produced The Joker... It was about people who refuse to see what its like from the other persons perspective! Its was about a society that could give a shit less about the downtrodden.
Thinking about the movie or seeing pictures is not the same as hearing the music again. Suddenly it's all there, again. The heavy aching in the chest, the lump in the throat..
*SPOILERS* 14:03 "He was always so happy..." That flashback was amazing. Seeing Arthur in the back of the room, then switching back to him on the stairs with the medical log, laughing in pain while he found out... Have chills right now
This scene brought me tears the two times I watched. Joaquim cries so much we can see tears dropping from his nose while he`s laughing. Such powerful scene.
I hope you realize the film is less about the Batman villain and more about a depressed man turned criminally insane. It's like an imprisioned angel inside a corpse without soul. Depression is a real disease and the real people who live it know how hell on earth can it be.

The thing I find fascinating is the "Bathroom Dance" soundtrack. Most of you probably know this by now, but the scene where Arthur dances to the music despite the chaos, wasn't actually in the script.
