Can you run at full legal limit (cw) indefinitely without pausing to allow the fans to cool the PA? What do the fans sound like when max cooling is required?

yes. full legal limit indefinitely. No pausing for cooling the PA. The fans can hardly be heard ... they are dead silent. See: www.twitch.tv/videos/1578487595?t=00h11m07s for a 1 hour run on CW at 45 WPM contesting non-stop. Temp barely rose above 42C and limit is around 70C....

Yes, full legal limit. Fans are still nearly silent. No vacuum cleaner sound. Search other video to see me run for 1 hour in weekly CWT event ... Indeifintely without pause for 1 hour... good enough for me !

I like how you use watts instead of percent to demonstrate, l have a Smartradioconcepts with 40w so this rf kits would be a great fit, both German made too. There is an option for a red facia, which l think l may choose when ordering. 👍

The input drive level can be changed depending on the swamping resistor value in the input. I’ve known a few hams using the Hermes lite 2 at just 5 watts PEP input to drive this amp to near legal limit. So yes many many options !

@@jomf8929 refer to 3:20 to 3:30, the real meat and potatoes of the video and Vic is correct.

@@BobHolowenko The opening shot shows 1901 watts output. 1 watt reflected. Don't look at the bar graph. Look at the numbers below it. That shows peak power. It's a monster. 1700+ in that segment from 3:20 to 3:30.... fix your eyes on the numbers below the watt meter and keep watching after i transmit. the readout shows the last "peak" output power.
