@@Whosayswho79 Yeah, but Cici is an excellent bassist and the clank of bronze strings on fretwire made her bass sound much less appealing (to me, anyway).

Brilliant video. Stewart Copeland once said that fretless instruments are one of the few musical devices where you can hit a note and then re-negotiate.
I like Lee's enthusiastic banter. Cici doesn't always get to do as much of the talking, but it's worth waiting for. Thank you both for another interesting video.
Sire is doing something very unique here. They are in Godin territory! First, they competed against Fender, then they produced a very nice MusicMan competitor, and now they are going for Godin. Amazing.
I would have liked to know what the specific setup was for each of the two basses. What was the fretless plugged into pedal and amp wise? Loved the sound. Thanks for the great videos.
To the Andertons Folks. Could you please gie us some approximate weights for the 4 - 5 string basses, respectively? Thank you. Again, loved the intro jam!
Hey Lee, seeing how you played in the opener, I'm certain you'd love the music of Carles Benavent, flamenco bassist to the greats. He's played with some of the best bassists, and although he's from Barcelona, he has a few videos in English.
Pete does drum loops through his looper on instagram all the time. I'm surprised he doesn't do that with Lee, although having a live drummer would be even better.
I REALLY LOVE ❤️ WHAT SIRE IS DOING,JUST NEED THEM TO DO IT FASTER,WHAT I MEAN,CAN YOU TALK TO SIRE FOR A LIMITED ADDITION M7 7-STRING,WITH A PIEZO,LIKE THE OLD YAMAHA TRB6P,THANKS FOR THE NEW VIDEO ❤
Listening to the fretless, it sounds a bit piezo-ey. I think they've missed a trick not putting an extra, different style pickup on there as say the Epiphone Zenith did.
I simply cannot find a photo of the controls on this bass. Gutted it doesn't have a tuner. If it had, I'd be ordering one today. May just stick to my beautiful Tanglewood TW155A bass. The Sire appeals as it would be easier to store/transport for live shows.
I’m wondering if tapewounds would be useable on the 5 string Fretless? The issue would be with the through body stringing, ie they may break easily with the sharp angle?
i had a Godin Multiac now they are twice as expensive - dont know why nothing has changed except for the greed of all music companies... I have also played the multiac bass - its cool for certain types of music - but theyre not very popular due to it being overpriced these cool like a good option
If it weren't for the fact that she was with Dave, no one would know her or she would have ever appeared on Andertons TV. Now it seems that he is no longer necessary. Typical.
@@metamizol1606Stop spreading this misinformation. That fretless sounds damn gorgeous
I think you will find that has a lot to do with who is playing it
@@Whosayswho79 oh for sure, I’d gladly buy the bass if I could play it like that!

Wow!! What a tone on that fretless! Sheesh! And string through body on and acoustic?? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before so awesome SIRE!!
Brilliant video. Stewart Copeland once said that fretless instruments are one of the few musical devices where you can hit a note and then re-negotiate.
Oooo. Looking forward to this. Fretless sounds great. Fabulous playing.
She just got me convinced to get one to play Astons "Familyman" Barret's lines on. Sounds amazing!
Sounds fabulous! Let’s get the analog drummer to back up the Captain and Danish Pete too!

OUTSTANDING PLAYING!!! Come on, Sire!!!!!! Both basses are killing it but THAT FRETLESS IS PHENOMENAL!!!!!!
Lee is one of the most enjoyable bass testers to listen to on yt
once again guys, that intro was f***ing gorgeous !!!!
That fretless! The tones! I'd love to hear it with GHS Pressurewound Bronze (my favorite fretless strings)!
That intro jam was niiiice! Listened to it a couple of times
Great demo, Cici and Lee! I bet these would sound MAGNIFICENT with a set of tapewound strings!
Chord progression from the beginning sounds a lot like Tide of Changes - Angra. Just beautiful
Thanks guys, nice review & cool sounding basses. Loved the outro jam aswell !
I am sold to that 5-string fretless!
That 5 string fretless is smoooov!
I was gone at that awesome intro oh back again 😊
Great tone on both, but I may have to get that fretless.
These two Bass Babes are so fun to watch.
Thanks for reviewing. I’ve been curious about these - certainly remind me of the Godin ones that I can’t afford. Sounds gorgeous.
There she is again massive bass fingers and groove man she's awesome
Both sound awesome. Great demo!

Phantastic intro jam 👏🏻
These basses are so cool!
Nice playing fellah.... shades of Joni.
Reckless daughter my first thought as well some of the best bass playing I have heard on record
I dig the profile, my biggest gripe with acoustic bass is the wide body. Just not comfortable for me. CiCi stated this as well.
Obrigado pelos vídeos, abraços aqui do Brasil.
would like to see some finger rest or ramp option maybe... other than that great instruments i guess, and great review as always!
that fretless sounds unreal!!!!!
Listen to the intro jam on headphones! Stick a bit of lap steel in there and you would be off

Just discovered his music thanks to this comment - soooo good
Thanks for the recommendation! :)
Absolutely loved your into jam.
Drums make the jams better. Maybe Lee & Pete should do this occasionally.

I think the fretted would be amazing in music like Vulfpeck or more jazzy stuff like Snarky Puppy.
That black four string is cool with the thumb rest that goes the whole length of the neck 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 can we hear the low B?

Super, would be awesome with an octave pedal
Sounds beautiful

Do flatwounds help the fingerboard last longer on a fretless?
Yes.
Bjr - quelles sont les références des cordes bleues de la basse à 5 cordes? Encore merci pour cette démo 🎉👍
Who needs a guitarist.
the bass that Lady is playing on seems to have a little bigger body, is it just impression or it is a case?
Why does the fretless sound like a trumpet? Sounds really cool
how does one adjust the bridge height?
How is the weight on these? I had a Godin fretless for a bit, it was pretty heavy.
Are they using effects pedals? Why ?
Have they sorted out the side dots and the fret markers being out of step?

Was the fretted version suffering from fret buzz, or is that just me?
Too bad they don't have an unlined version. It would look gorgeous.
Is there a solid date for availability? Changes all the time everywhere 😢
I was in Andertons today and they are in stock! Played the fretted one and it sounds amazing!
@@kevinburgess6877 ohhhhhh damn....
Fretless is the way to go. Sounds great. As for the fretted one, I can't stand that clickety clackety piezo sound.
Did they pay Godin, for copy the A4?
I can't believe I'm saying this but I think there should be sound holes
Where are the guitars?
Through the body basses always worry me because of string angle.
DefiniteLee!
“First soirée”? Think you mean “first foray”! 🤣
Starting to save my $$ for one... Or that Music man style...
Decisions, decisions...
Look like Godin bass...
TodAB I guess lol (tod acoustic bass)
Want an acoustic but with a thumb rest like Ibanez do - just don’t really like the look of Ibanez
Everytime I hear thar grey haired bloke on the right play I hear Stanley Clarke and it's wonderful 👌
Nathan is really missed, he and Lee made some of the best bass demos on TH-cam.
where did he go?
Acousto-electric.

So easy to notice a guy who plays 4 string bass. 😂
can u play some sick death metal ever? why does it always have to be this wankery...
Guys you talk so much ¡¡ ..we want just to hear the basses
We all know Sire is Andertons own brand.
Lol, you should do your research!
There isn't anything exciting about bass.
Sire, Ibby or LTD, Good People? Something like this is my next ride. HF.
Personally I would go with the LTD. It's a true acoustic bass that's still thin, and has a really nice Fishman pickup system.
