I've been playing this game ever since its release, and I took my time with it. I just got to the white-coat guy in the first chapter last night. This game is super friendly to players like me, who don't usually play ARPG and can be very slow in fighting. It let me farm and level up fast so I can beat the bosses without too much struggles. The amount of materials, skill building, and side mini bosses are just amazing. I just heard that even it's not an open-world game, there are multiple endings depending on your decisions. And as you replay the game, the story changes and could be completely different from the first-time play-through!! This is the kind of game that I've been waiting for for so long.
This is what gaming used to be. Developers taking chances and trying new things. In my opinion this is GOTY even if they dont win the stupid award. This is what games are supposed to be. Havent had this much fun in a game in awhile. Playin on a decent PC on OLED and its just beautiful. Excellent combat and music. Game is dope. Breaking steam records also.

Shame that I've been nowhere near my gaming rig so I'll still have to wait for some time before I can actullay try the game myself. So I've been watching vids and god your knowledge of the original Journey to the west novel really astonished me. While I'm writing this comment here some Chinese streamers are working on unlocking hidden ending paths, and a second ending has already been found! The story of the game is a bold re-creation on the basis of the original novel and even as a Chinese I wouldn't say I can fully understand it within a single run of the game. Rest assured guys there is more to dig and, hooo the hidden fight scenes found so far are just epic, at least GoW4 level you know. Glad you enjoy the game!
You're going to be my eyes for how this game is start to finish, but I'm excited to hear how good it is. I'm gonna need to see that English voice cast too so I can geek out or learn about new actors in the scene.
Even tho I hate souls games or hard games… and I’ve died helllllaaaa times… I’m finding myself wanting more lol I hate the chore of upgrading small things and applying them.. but with this game I enjoy it. Good job game science. I just started chapter 2.

Can’t believe I’m talking about the “cinematography” of a game but we are in the future folks - with UE5 it’s not absurd to speak of a game like it’s a film… because everything here is top tier. The art direction, sound direction, cinematography, combat, voice acting, storyboarding/storyline, atmosphere, color tones, moods, score and music. It’s something out of a movie.
2.5 hours in. I died like 15 times already with the 2 form dude in white(chapter 1). I'm terrible at these type of games... because I tend to rush in, be greedy and go for maximum damage with zero stamina. lol I really need to learn how to be a little bit patient. But hey, it felt good beating some of the bosses. Some bosses are harder than others... but... I haven't got my "first try" win yet... Game is kicking my ass, but I laughed about it instead of being angry... Great fun.
@@bigheadrhino yup. learned it well. just finished chapter 3 last night. apparently different people have different opinions on which boss was harder. some bosses people have trouble with that i beat on first try, and others found easy when it's one of the toughest for me. lol.
Maybe it’s just me, but some of the character designs/move sets are very similar to God of war Ragnarok. the game is great so far. Definitely enjoying it. 👍🏿
I’m struggling with Chapter 2 especially Tiger Vanguard and Rock Vanguard bosses are difficult I can’t beat them I get closer but damn this game kicks ass and fun as hell and addicting to play. It’s my GOTY I don’t know if anything can come close to it!
@AugustBurnsRedRyan Just keep trying. Thetmy are so easy once you get used to their attack patterns. And I agree. This is also my game of the year as well
I only have a few grabs. Why no HDR, also I have a 4090 it's way over-sharpened even when I use DLAA on 1440p. There is a mod to fix some of it but, still not Impressed with the overall visuals.
This is my first time being exposed to these style of games. I’ve tried Elden ring and while a great game it wasn’t for me. This game my lord it is amazing. I’m taking my time with game,but it is punishing. I love over coming these bosses in this game. Elden ring players do you get a shot of adrenaline after beating a boss like you just conjured the world? Or is that just me? 😅😅😅😅 game is awesome still stuck on chapter two.
