Greetings Justin! Newly retired Army vet, taking up Jeep overlanding ad my new hobby. Stumbled on your videos and haven't stopped watching! Great content bro, I'd love to hang with you one trip and get some experience under my belt. Stay safe brother
Hi Justin, First off, I want to say that my wife and I are huge fans of your videos! They've inspired us to plan an overlanding adventure to Grand Teton National Park this September. It's a dream trip for us, and I'm currently preparing our truck for the journey. However, we're from Texas and not very familiar with how overlanding spots operate in Grand Teton. Could you possibly share some coordinates or tips for the incredible places you've showcased in your videos? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as we embark on this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much!.
Half thought you were going to end up in the campsite we found about 3 weeks back on FR 30290 right by Spread Creek. It was getting crowded then but Yellowstone was nearly deserted the next day (Yellowstone deserted, not normal deserted). Had to laugh when you went to the "OVERLOOK" of Old Faithful, that was a total FAIL for dear wife Lori and I. we didn't plan enough time and it erupted while we were en route...in a spot where we could see....nothing. The Spread Creek campsite was great, good views and lots of driftwood for a fire. Neil the Cattlemutt learned that the water was fast and cold when he decided to try fishing. Fortunately for him he was leashed and we hauled him back to land. Great videos, keep em coming!
Nice videos... Just found your site, love the Tetons, but have you tried the wind river range outside of Pinedale WY? Beautiful mts lots of dispersed camping... Keep up the vids!
Just stumbled across your channel. Excellent footage, music and dope rig. New sub right here. I know the struggle with primitive sites. Back east we always go to a national forest with 200 primitive sites all the time. Since Covid if your not on a site by Thursday then turn around and go home. Before Covid I would maybe see 5 other campers all weekend. Nice that people are out....crap that so many people are out! Wife and I are going to Tetons in September. Could you share you camp spots please !? I have a AWD lifted Chevy Express built out. Should be ok in the rough stuff. Thanks in advance. !
Great video Justin! I love Jackson Hole it has unbelievable scenery! I grew up just south of Jackson and worked many jobs in Jackson as a teenager. Around Jackson Hole is one of the hardest places to find remote camping, the thing that a lot of people don’t realize is many people do live in camp sites around Jackson in the summer. It is a very attractive place for people who love the outdoors. It’s those people that are usually the work force for service jobs in Jackson. It’s way to expensive to live there so they live in camp sites.
Great view! Love how you guys just kept lookin after each disappointment. That's soo hard to do. Maybe try the Idaho side of the tetons next time, lol I'll be honest I'm partial to the Idaho side. It's been a bucket list trip for my wife and I to find a great spot in idaho with a view of the tetons. The only thing that keeps us from venturing out to stay is we don't want to camp alone in grizzly territory. Great video man thanks for taking us along
wow how beautiful! Cant wait to take my 6 year old daughter there in a few weeks. She watches your videos with me and keeps asking me when we are going to get out there. Its gonna be a loooong drive from the Florida panhandle but its all she talks about and she cant wait to hit the road. Thanks again for the great content. Look forward to getting out your way.
Great shots of Tetons. Seems every time that I travel by them they are all fogged in. You're story on this trip so far with the issue with the stove, and finding that perfect illusive camp spot with people already squating, fortifies my thought process regarding life now. It seems that the harder a I try to shortcut and move too fast in life, shit just happens and continues to happen. But.....if I just back off the pressure and go with it in stride, letting Karma do her thing, it just works out. Sometimes for the better even. It goes for trying to make that yellow light, or the slow poke in front of me on the highway, I still get to where I'm going and wouldn't have arrived any sooner regardless. Also being in a hurry to find something at a store last minute that I didn't have, or forgot to pack. If I just relax and go with it, it always seems to work itself out one way or another. Justin, ytou have a great story going on here, keep it up bro. I look forward to crossing paths with you (and the wife) sometime, you are good people!
Loving the driver & passenger video chat! Keep up the travel videos even though sometimes it gets frustrating. I just missed a spot in NM and we couldn't find one for hours then we got lost. We too almost turned around then I remembered I downloaded the IOverlander APP before we left home and voila it took me right to the campsite at 10 PM! We were a little loud airing our mattress but in the end it was an epic adventure and may have saw green men in the morning. No really. Question: how do you guys stay warm we froze our butts off. Need to reassess.
My wife and I just went to that area (not off road anywhere) for the first time at the end of Aug and it was gorgeous. Now that I am getting a RTT for my new Tacoma (2wd Sport though) I would love to go back and camp. Beautiful location though. Just finding your channel and hear you use to have a Tacoma, how do you like having the Jeep instead?
Yo bro is that east of Tetons yall was searching and was that at shadow mountain? Could you send Lat and LONG, cause tryna go here this month. Would really appreciate it man... Thank you much
Unfortunately, with the whole covid thing everywhere has been like this.... I went out to the middle of the desert a couple weeks ago, 90+ degrees and still couldn't get a secluded/ peaceful spot. Been up to the mountains, same thing. I feel like it's not even worth trying to go get the far out secluded spots right now, nomatter how bad I want to, because everybody and their mother is doing the same thing.
Hey I ahve a question for ya. First time overlanding next week for me. My son and I are doing a around the country trip hitting as much as we can. So these camp spots, is what my question is. Are the just pull offs? On BLM land? Or in the National Parks? How do I find them? How do I know where I can or can not camp? I have the first 5 nights of our trip from PA to Just on the other side of the Black Hills booked at campgrounds. Any helpful tips would be helpful. We might bypass Yellowstone, well because it's a shame it's severely damaged. But the Tetons and then Glacier is in order.
Justin B. McBride do you travel to Wyoming often? I live here so if you ever make your way down here again let me know I’d love to check your rig out and meet you!
Justin- What mountain did you end up on? It looks like you are around Shadow Mtn but according to the 2020 national forest map you cant camp off of forest road 30340 anymore. We are heading that way next week and will be doing the same search as you. Any suggestions are appreciated.
justin! your videos are exceptional! thank you for teaching me so much stuff about overlanding! maybe we could collaborate on a project someday! I'm doing a big road trip across the country! lets connect!
@@JustinBMcBride btw, you should do an amazon affiliates store, I need overlanding gear, I could use your suggestions on gear to buy, might as well make some $ off the affiliate links.

Hey have you ever thought about making collaboration videos with other overlanding/gear/rig youtubers? I know you made a video with Tacoma beast way back, but you making a video with trailrecon and Last line of defense would be super awesome to watch
Great video and glad you found a great spot. Had a question on your drone shots while the car is driving. Are you doing that simultaneously, two person job with Hilary’s help, or throwing your drone on a track/follow program?
First: thanks much for all the education you’ve provided. Outstanding channel! Second: can you educate me…about dealing with bears in the backcountry around Grand Teton & Yellowstone? I have an iKamper RTT & am setting up my vehicle for a 10 day swing thru these areas and up to Banff. I’m concerned about the whole concept of a Dometic/food in the back of my Rover-and then sleeping on top of it. I have visions of me and my dog being the proverbial ‘cherry on top’ of a perfect bear smorgasboard inside my rig. How do you follow and/or manage the ‘standard’ recommendations in bear country (e.g., food/cooking area 100 yds away from where you sleep) with your rig and RTT setup? Thanks in advance. Hope we have the chance to meet on all the beautiful trails in Utah and surrounding states! -Roger
I’ve been in that first spot you went too - summer 22 and it was awesome. By the end of the evening there were LOTS of people that pulled in.
Greetings Justin! Newly retired Army vet, taking up Jeep overlanding ad my new hobby. Stumbled on your videos and haven't stopped watching! Great content bro, I'd love to hang with you one trip and get some experience under my belt. Stay safe brother
Oh man... this gave me that “driving to the spot anxiety”! Glad you finally got a spot.
Right? This is the real side of the story behind all the cool Instagram photos.
I hate that we all sup up our rigs to get to places like this and someone shows up in a mini van 😑 #gx470
No joke! Minivans must be worth looking into.
I show up in my minivan all the time, got videos of it lol

Those good spots near Cunningham Cabin are packed now.
11 seconds in had one of the best sounds in the world. Anyone who’s a camping fan knows and loves that sound.
I didn't have to look to know you are talking about coffee pouring...
Gotta get that propane “pop”!
Justin B. McBride that too I guess. I was thinking of the water filling a metal pot from a jug. That sweet sweet “ting” sound.

Just pick up a MVUM from the rangers out there. It’ll get you all the fun spots.

Yeah, it’s pretty obvious after this last trip that the people in the best spots are really established.
Those views are amazing! Glad you were able to find such a cool spot. That drone footage is so rad! Can’t wait for the next vid!

Camping out here in the Tetons, how do you store trash, scented items or left overs? Do you use a bear canister? Do you hang up a bag on a tree or?
Another great video Justin! Always excited to see a new one first thing in the morning - and damn, 3 days in a row!!!

So… you got some coordinates on that spot?
What mount are you using hooked to the freedom panels?
The fuel tank mounts or camera mounts?
Inside the car top of the mirror. Looks like u hooked a CB radio screen or something..
That’s a mount from Carolina Metal Masters, my Ham radio faceplate is up there.

Sick episode!
Thanks!
Looks beautiful at Grand Teton! Are those 35s with stock suspension? If so, have you ran into any issues with that on the Rubi?

The mount up top is from Carolina Metal Masters, but I use my phone mounted to a 67Designs Mount.
One minute in and really wondering which ONE spot you want! There's more than one "dream" spot in GTNP...
This is true. There are lots. I don’t want to exactly say, there were already too many people up there.
So this was free camping ? I love the Tetons ! Why aren’t you playing Weezer on you video ?
I can’t play Weezer songs in the videos. They’ll hit me with a copyright violation.
