I was about to say that. They ate more rice than beans it looked like. But I can’t blame them, mixing things with rice isn’t a typical thing anywhere else but in southern states of the US. It wasn’t until more recently that mixing things with rice even made it up out of the South.

The red beans and rice are actually the only thing I think is worth going to Popeye's for. Their other food isn't *bad* but it's nothing special and a little overpriced (though that's basically all fast food these days so nothing against them specifically). But a bowl of red beans and rice with a packet of Cajun Sparkle mixed in is the best.

Just a tip here on how to drink items like sweet tea. The point is not to sip it up all at once. In the southern heat, the ice will melt. So instead of your drink being watered down, you will retain the flavor of the drink. As for the Red beans and rice, you have to mix the rice with the beans before eating. Enjoyed the video. 😊

Al Copeland, the founder of Popeyes, had originally opened a restaurant called Chicken on the Run to very little success in 1972. He closed down to rework his recipes and reopened only three days later as Popeyes Mighty Good Fried Chicken, taking the name of Gene Hackman’s character in the film “The French Connection,” which was released only the year before.
In the movie, Hackman played Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle, a New York City cop obsessed with taking down a drug operation. It won five Oscars at the 44th Academy Awards. And it had nothing to do with fried chicken.

My name is Timothy Lee,I'm an old 72 Year old US Army veteran US Military police Corp. Only watched your site on TH-cam a couple of times and it's already one of my favorites. I love the way u all are so adventurous and willing to go anywhere and try anything to eat in the USA and believe me that takes a bit of courage, I know. U remind me of me after I got back home after servicing over seas in the early 70s. The US wasn't to friendly to all us serving in a certain country way back then so instead of staying home I traveled to Europe and ended up staying for over 10 years. I traveled all of Europe, Asia, Africa and loved it all. I was like y and ur family, I couldn't get enough of all the beautiful things I had seen, the beautiful people and all the great food I had tried. To cut it short keep the adventurous side of ur family going,to me u all are KICKASS awesome,i love ur beautiful family.
P.S. if u really like to try a great dessert try strawberries washed and green cut off , dip first in sour cream, then finally dip in brown sugar. I believe u will love it.

A lot of families seem to have personality clashes & misbehaved bratty children but your kids were a breath of fresh air. Very well mannered & very well behaved. Even some husbands & wives don't know how to talk to each other properly or respectfully. No one seemed to be talking AT each other or OVER each other & no one seemed to be irritated, annoyed or disappointed with each other either. You guys actually listen to each other & respond to each other with a sense of urgency & eagerness. I mean, I do understand that it IS TH-cam after all & you guys have control over editing & maybe some things were edited out (maybe) but everything seemed to be good smoothly during the entire vid. I realize I'm sure your kids have "off days" where they might behave better than other days in the privacy of your home & @ school but in this particular video, it was impressive. You may or may not be a "perfect" family but you guys seem to be a reasonable, personable & respectful family. Which is truly a relief & a breath of fresh air. You guys Rock! 🎸 I enjoyed the actual review of the Food as well & each & every one of your comments & opinions. Great family you guys have, great content & great review! Peace & Blessings.

I live in Georgia. It honestly brings me so much joy watching your lovely family try American food! We have some pretty tasty stuff over here, especially in the South lol

Love watching the pure joy on Sam's face when he was eating. We do have a great variety eateries in the US, but if you lived here you would probably get tired of dining out.
