Haruna performed a 2-3 minute drum solo in the middle of their sets at their recently concluded "Judgement Day" tour in Japan. Fingers crossed this will be a regular feature in future LIVE shows. Lovebites just announced their World Tour 2024 called "The Thin Line between Love and Hate" where they will be ADDING countries/cities to the already confirmed ProgPower and European dates. This will be pretty fluid, so watch out for ongoing announcements of new shows throughout this year.
Haruna puts so much power, intensity and technicality in her drumming that I feel she does at least 3-4 solos per show.
Well a lot of the live stuff is from the knocking on heaven's Gates DVDs.. but there is a live video of stand and deliver where there is an actual drum solo
@@Jkoziol72577 Yep, I know of that video which I believe was uploaded by a fan. The rip was taken from the Tokyo leg of Lovebites' "Judgement Day" tour in Japan, which was LIVE streamed (paid) in its entirety to an international audience back in September last year.
She played it before Stand and Deliver, except for the first concert of the tour when she played it before Scream for Me.
Actually, you don't need to underplay the role reactors and youtubers have played in publicizing Japanese music. You all have played a big role. The American music industry hate foreign acts and do nothing to promote them. The Japanese labels are largely clueless how to market in the West, and some don't even try. The popularity of J-Rock and Metal is almost entirely due to word of mouth, social media, reactors, youtubers and music bloggers. Keep up the good work!

Last song on last album is the fastest they've done, and she got some ridiculous fills after the solo. It was so tough on Asami too, that Miyako had to apologize to them during the online premiere. But according to her, she tried to slow it down and such, but didn't work as well.
Song is called "Solider stands solitarily". Though no video, there is one from the stream, with translations of their notes they wrote.
Yeah... they have said there will be a tour this year, and quite sure there will be more than the single one they have at ProgPower.
You were appropriately frightened and aroused by the menacing looks of Midori! The range of chops she goes through playing this song in a live setting really showcases her razor sharp playing skill and dead sexy stage presence. I generally avoid that last adjective when discussing these classy ladies, because they deservedly float above such objectivity, but it can safely be said Midori projects strength/skill/sexuality on her terms: she works hard for it!
I also like Midori and the rest of the 'Bites. I want to find a woman like Miyako and marry her. She is a very talented musician and music composer. She has a large collection of guitars. One of my favorites is her Les Paul Gibson guitar. Many of my guitar heroes also play the same model. She is also a Star Wars movie fan like me. And she loves to go fishing. Akane from Band-Maid and Haruna are very good friends and in fact there are pictures of Midori, Asami and Haruna at the Band-Maid Yokohama 10 year anniversary show. I am suprised that Haruna doesnt do solos since her and Akana are such close friends...

Yeah I think this wave that started in TH-cam is starting to spread to the real world now. I just saw Babymetal play in a filled arena here in Spain, that's unthinkable for a japanese band two or three years ago. Resurrection Fest, that's our biggest festival and one of the biggest in Europe is scheduling 6 japanese bands this year (among them Hanabie, Babymetal as headliners and... Lovebites). So yeah, the wave is coming, it has already started to happen.

The MV of this song came out on Christmas 2022, and immediately captured my pick for Song of the Year, all categories. For them to crush is like this live is just mind-blowing.

I fell in love with the Music Video version of Judgement Day. Then, I saw the live version and now it feels like I have 2 girlfriends. I binged 4 hours straight listening to Lovebites videos with a friend on New Years day. Then, she introduced me, out of nowhere, to Rolling Quartz, an all girls band, and their song Fearless is now on my playlist. :) Wishing you a safe 2024 and appreciation for your genuine always enjoyable reactions.

Great reaction Anastasia. This is merely my opinion. The drums and the bass don't play solo in Lovebites because Lovebites focus on the total sound as ensemble like an orchestra while small sized bands usually play in work session style, therefore only solo instruments play solos in Lovebites, I guess.
There's a video of Haruna doing a drum solo and I do believe it's from this show.
Haruna does drum solos sometimes, but the UN have asked her not to do so because the planet could take damage.

Lovebites have gotten alot of good youtube coverage for a good while now and its really well deserved. I found Lovebites by simply typing "live rock music" into the search bar and lovebites was in the selection, playing Shadowmaker in the studio concert.

Iron Maiden will beginning the US leg of their world tour on October 4 2024 in my city on the west coast. They haven't announced an opening act yet. Lovebites would be a perfect fit...Just saying.
Would be a bucket list show if IRON MAIDEN invited LOVEBITES to be their special guest on the FUTURE PAST sets. Commissioned some art to promote exactly that. Got Samurai Eddie sword drawn behind the LOVEBITES ladies in their Onma-Musha outfits looking bad ass as all get out. Sent it to the bands with the request to team up. I hope that they add more dates to both Europe and the Americas. Until then... I do know an all-female band whom are touring North America this year, however it may not be what you're into. If you like punk music at all, (or you just need another Japanese band to blow your mind) I recommend checking out Otoboke Beaver. No guitar solos, and it's a way different vibe, but their energy is undeniable. If you're not sure, maybe ask your chat or fans what they think?
This year in Japan started with some bad news, but I think LOVEBITES (and BAND-MAID and WGAKKIBAND) will give me hope.

I think you underestimate social media. If not for TH-cam, the japanese bands would be hardly known in the US. WSOU, in New Jersey, the metal radio station in the NYC area, does not play the Asian groups. This platform is the only way I stay in touch with the Japanese Pop/Rock scene.

Sorry, I don't mean to be pushy but there is a hugely important MV out now and I can't figure out why you haven't done it. Probably needs a filter so it won't get blocked? The song is called "Unravel" Live This is a cover by "Ado" but sounds completely different than the "TK" original. The vocal fireworks by "Ado" will surely shorten her career due to injuries. This is a very important MV that IMO should be done as soon as possible. This LIVE MV is a "must do" for the Jscene fans.
