I'm a Filipino, but I'm rooting for Hagejin, I love rushdown and grapplers, I hate zoners and people seem to say that Filipino Champ doesn't behave well.
i like grapplers too. hate rushdown, its like brainless to be serviceable rushdown player; nothing about it is entertaining to me actually, I'm wrong. there is one rushdown character i like....i like watching Yun from Third Strike
Good shit by Arturo not being a mindless fuck and actually giving props to Hagejin rather than just "DURR OMG GUIZ GIEF JUMPS IN 4 FREE WOW SO UNFAIR". Like Art was saying, Hagejin won not because his character is broken but because he was willing to sacrifice life and make bets/reads to get in, and it paid dividends.
+littlescruby What made you think Art would react like that? Sure, the Dhalsim struggle is real but I'm pretty sure Art would agree that Skill > Tier lists. This matchup is actually a bit better for Dhalsim.

+Sharuru magne snake eyez does well in tournaments but cannot even take a round from daigo or momochi, hagejin has beatn both of them, in TL he lost to daigo but manage to take a game something that snake has never done in his sf4 career. Hagejin already beat snakeeyez in a ft5 match, i like snakeeyez myself but hagejin is top3 zangief in the world guarantee

The biggest part of where art is bad at certain matchups back then is the fact that in his head dhal is solely a keep away when he is not he has aggressive moves and combos as well even against geif most of the round yes play keep away but geif never expects you to just slide back mk yoga flame and if geif jumps you go under react and throw to get away because standing you get grabbed and jump you get ult 2 so you basically have 1 option just normal throw and Jin doesn’t tech but stand mp and stand Lk weren’t used enough here nor yoga blast for jump in like art suggests
Champ didn't use ex upblast enough. Thats his only way to guarantee anti air vs Gief and would've got him out of alot of bad situations. But yeah this matchup isn't in Sims favour anymore. Even at best. Sim has to work much harder to keep Gief out than Gief has to to get in.
+CheechWizard22 Agreed, but Champ was also punished for trying upblast a couple of times. It's like Arturo says.. Champ gets afraid of pressing buttons. But a lot of people will hear that as "Champ made the mistake of getting scared", but in reality he had good reason to, and any Sim would be.
