  • "I can't get excited about losing a football game. We lose, we lose." Those don't sound like the words of a top-ranked college football coach, but that's what Penn State's Joe Paterno tells Harry Reasoner. Aside from winning, Paterno pushes education; 94 percent of his players graduate with degrees.

I was a sophomore at Penn State this year. I went to all of the home games it was amazing we all had a great time. We lost to Alabama on New Years day. We were devastated.

Sad ending to a great coaching career. Whether fair or not, you are often remembered for the last bad thing you do. So it is with Joe Paterno.

Growing up in Pennsylvania, and playing football, I idolized Joe Paterno as a kid. He made me want to make an impact in an academic setting. In retrospect, what matters is striving to become better than Paterno.

Okay, admittedly, I'm fed up with ESPN when it comes to the Sandusky scandal but it still infuriates me when one of their radio personalities gets it 100% wrong... The Dan Levatard Show was discussing Betino when Dan Levatard posed the question "If there wasn't a link to what went on, could Rick Betino survive? I mean, look at Joe Paterno, at least there there was a link"... he then went on to say "Mike McQueary told Paterno about the sex acts he saw going on in the shower and Paterno did nothing, there was a link"... I know it's pointless but the facts are never, ever going to be properly expressed, but it's naive comments like that that drive me up a freakin wall. If I send a message- the response will be "Another Penn State crazy" because that's how anything that questions the agenda gets portrayed. Just venting cause it really pissed me off. God, I wish there was some other sports outlet to listen to during my work lunch break. If you're going ot make a point, at least get the facts right already. Anyone listening today thinks Joe was toald a) it was a sex act and b) Paterno did nothing. Wrong on both counts but why should that get in the way, right? How many times did Mike M. change his story?

I’m a teacher and have to receive mandated training on child abuse.even if there is a suspicion that something inappropriate is going on ( link or not), I still have to report it . If it is uncovered that I suspected something and I didn’t report it - I’m fired. Paterno , police , and Penn St admin suspected it and never took immediate action to protect the student. Therefore , Paterno is just as guilty of enabling Sandusky

He told Tom Corbett the district attorney. Sandusky and the boys club contributed $200,000 to Corbett's Governor's campaign. Tom Corbett then Governor blamed Joe Paterno who was on his deathbed and couldn't defend himself then died taking all the blame. RESEARCH what news reporters never do anymore.
