@@davidchoe David Choe, the artist bold, Whose hands spin tales both new and old, Takes a stuffed bear, soft with seams, And unthreads it from childhood dreams. Hello David, I met you while we were eating outside of the grocery store a few weekends ago, with wife and my two girls. You were so nice to say hi to all of them and take a photo with us. My brother and cousin were blown away when I showed them the photo. I just wanted to say thank you for all the years of helping me put a smile on my face during my own down times, as well as through the good times! I remember playing your interview with your mom, for my own mom, like 15 years ago because I thought they had such a similar story and personality. I hope you’re feeling a bit better off the meds. I did the same like 5 years back and even though it was one of the scariest things I’ve been through, I enjoy feeling feelings again. For me, fishing and playing with my kids has been changed everything for me. If you ever want to try some fishing, let me know. I’d be happy to take you out! Thanks again!
I respect you for putting artists on the spot, most of us didn’t have enough of that in life. So instead of mastering our crafts out loud, some of us stagnate in secrecy.
Every couple of months I click on one of these videos and I feel a bit more like myself after. always a bright face to see in the dark that is the internet.
Real human interaction. There's not enough of it in the world today. So cool you would take the time to chat with people and see what's going on with them.
Arnold was my grandfather. I remember seeing that painting hanging around when i was little. Could not believe it when you found that! I absolutely love what you have done with it and i know he would have too.
You say ‘Don’t laugh’ and I say ‘Too late’. I am so glad to see you are doing well Choe. You lift my spirits with what you do and where you go. You are the creator, the artist and the director of your own fate.
7:00 Dime-store Ed Norton is low-key committed to the bit. Keith-hipster-shirt, turned out to be the red herring of the video ;) But, Choe rockin' the Gummo 'T' and politely imposing himself upon the locals is great! Plus, those toys are like Art as Agit-Prop for kids; planting the seed of subversity in the young minds that find them.
My one year old Norman loves watching your videos and you. He’s teething something fierce right now, so it was nice to see him smiling after a long day! Thank you for doing what you do!

I have this saying about dude's I trust. I say "I'd go skydiving with with him." You are someone I would sky dive with. You've got so much raw talent and inspiration. What a Blessing.
This was the best. What a great idea. Going to do this exact thing with my mom. Lost both my grandparents, her parents, she's down and I'm down. Gonna go thrift with her, buy some things we love, buy a painting we love, make it our own, then give it to each other for Christmas. I'm being a simp copy cat I guess, but its a great idea.
I’ve become obsessed with your art. Like the videos. Theeeeeeeee, energy… idk man it’s an effortless personality that I see the pain in, but it translates to something so fun.
Hey David, just wanted to say you’re a huge inspiration. I’m an artist and musician but you don’t inspire me for those things. I just really appreciate your approach to life. I’m in a huge slump of depression and I need to get out there more and do things like this; meet people and talk to them, hear their stories and make connections. Life has been extremely hard lately and I used to be so full of emotions and inspiration to create that has been gone recently but I don’t want to be. Who knows what will break the chain effect of this bad feeling but I know it’s not sitting here overthinking about my problems, I need to get out there and see what happens. Much love 💕
How’s this for supportive? The world really needs you now, so please keep it up. I started watching this series Wednesday, Nov. 6, and I definitely needed it!
I love it when I'm sent shows I missed. They always land right where I need um. This one lifted me up and inspired new perspectives. I appreciate your striving. Blessings
First off, all love and appreciation. Your videos and channel have been a source of solace, learning, and enlightenment for the past few months. So sad to hear of the 2014 masseuse stuff. Hope to return to the fold once accountability and responsibility are taken.
Thrift shops are the fuckin best art supply store ever, excellent people watching and fellow weirdo friends to be detection location. 10/10 on the Fuckin yeah! list. Love you, Dave! 🖤
I been puking for 3 days straight from diabetes, luckily I didn't go to the hospital or slip into a diabetic coma again this time. After texting my kids, this was the first thing I watched. I live in MN but I'm from Los Angeles & I love thrifting. Been a minute since I watched one of ur videos, the eye gazing with ur dog was great. I'm gonna do sum eye gazing with my kids' ferret. Thanks David!🕷🕸🐿
This image of a person traveling threw a traumatic landscape. above in the air is his higher self admitting positive vibrations and colorful lights that seem to start melting away the trauma all around him as he keeps going forward. This is what came to me while watching this thank you for the healing.
Thank you David for today's inspiration! Can't wait for the Veggie Hammer good morning song to come out, I need it in my life! Also those True Romance shorts with the Gummo shirt is a sick outfit
I really do love your work David, and I know you hear that all the time so this youtube message won't mean much, but you really are incredible. The work you do is so good and original. I know I will never be able to afford your work, but it would be cool if you put out a catalog type book of all your favorite paintings. Just wanted to say that though, you are freaking amazing.
You are the treasure found! So enjoy how you have shown up in this world💜🔥💜. (btw: Late great Saturday Jim Cranna Improv gal, here: “always say yes and be better than yourself” (😳eye contact!! )
Improv was fantastic. Emotions were forcefully put into my heart and my face changed due to that fact. At the end of scene I found myself smiling when he got his father's painting 🖼. The widowed ex wife pawned it, you found it and gave the man something priceless.
This video renews my artistic practice! Renews my faith in art! Gives me hope. Wow! I get so stressed out by "why am I making this?" Is it for money or for decoration or self expression? Is it therapy? Is it fun? But damn if David Choe didn't just blow my mind!! Just make stuff!!
Great watch, I enjoy seeing your ability to actively listen to and engage with the world and people you come across. Watching you do so provides a little optimism and inspiration for me to be a little less stuck and self-absorbed.
Hope it works out pickles man, I’d watch you in a movie bro. Love this David, you are a legend- when depression and writers block come, keep moving, get outside, connect and play. I’d watch this all day 💗
Dude was actually a pretty decent actor😂
Yeah, he really did that
Reminded me Ed Norton

He smashed it out of the park
He is amazing!!
What a lovely supportive and caring comments section ❤ love you all thank you for your kind words I’m trying my best
Inspired and liking the rawness of David
I appreciate your inspiration
Great video, thanks for making it.
Looking forward to more vids like this!
Hope you are taking care of yourself
Your videos feel literally like my secondary therapy. ❤

bros just acting
If anything thats how David wants to be treated - like a person.
Edward Nortan's younger cousin kinda gives me serial killer vibes too 😂
Guys he’s not a god and an o he’s a good guy
That improv with Hans was awesome, dope video.

"i am joseph" is a good thing to whisper at people in public
Nah bro the crazy part is the "I am Joseph" in reverse as he walks back. f ing killed me
Yo! I’m gonna start doing that.
I respect you for putting artists on the spot, most of us didn’t have enough of that in life. So instead of mastering our crafts out loud, some of us stagnate in secrecy.
