Steven Yeun appearing from nowhere and teaming up with David to perform an existential breakthrough intervention on Bobby might legit be my favourite moment in this or any podcast
David choe is EXACTLY the friend Bobby needs to have around him. Anytime I see Choe on a podcast, he’s very insightful. What a very enlightened human being
@@오즈만디아스He had a podcast called DVDASA, Joe Rogan appeared on it and I think Bobby did as well a few times. But David pretty much wiped the podcast from the internet so it’s hard to find now.
I appreciate David praising Bobby and giving him confidence. We are 1 step closer to getting a comedy special. You dont need a large platform to release it Bobby, you have one.
Yeah he needs to do it for herself. Just like Jo Koy and Gary Owen did. They made it with not knowing if anyone would buy it. Jo Koy blew up after that.
the ending of bobby not being on the wall and having to put himself on the wall is perfect symbolism of why dave and steve felt the need to tell bobby how important and legendary he is to the asian american community
1000% facts right here, a little recognition (lets face it, Bobby values his contemporaries' respect heavily) would go a long way to helping him achieve some firsts that he has been elusive with, like his first big special or that intra-podcast heist movie he's always wanted to do
Loved this episode, felt like they could really take this podcast to some Rogan type level stuff... it was awkward it was uncomfortable and it was growth😂
David Choe creates Podcast Masterpieces everywhere he goes. Probably Tigerbellys best episode ever. Choe’s appearance on Rogan was a mindblowing emotional rollercoaster too. This man is a TRUE artist in every sense. For this guy, podcasts are just another form of canvases for him to paint on. God, I miss DVDASA. 😭
As a therapist, I get sick of some of the wannabe psychobabble therapy talk in a lot of podcasts, because I think so often it's people claiming to be "real" but it's still bullshit. THIS was some real fucking genuine human, emotional contact. Absolutely beautiful.
I think it's because in this they were mostly describing WHAT was happening to them and each other as apposed to most people that describe WHY they think their relationships are corroding based on a few theories they read about in intro college psych classes.
You should check out Rick Glassman's podcast. He gets super real with some guests as well. He found out he was autistic in his 30s and now he is incredibly transparent and asks people if what he just said made them uncomfortable and explains his oddities to people and its just so real
Fellow therapist here. I try thinking back to episode 1 of how did I find this & why do I need/love it so much? Boom. You nailed it. Authenticity is an itch that's hard to scratch anymore. Tigerbelly above the sheep, no question 🙌
Im just a humble korean man living in Melbourne, Australia that grew up in Korea and lived more than a half of my life in that country. When I moved to Australia I wasnt able to speak English at all and needed some English language tutorial channel. Thats when I found the incredible Korean American standup comedian, Bobby. At first it was just for learning the language but as my English had gotten better I understood the dialogue and eventually fell in love with your performance. There was no subtitle so I had to watch the video over and over again, writing down the script so I can translate. Back then there werent many Asian comedians nor entertainers making appearance on media. You legitimately worked hard to get recognition as an Asian entertainer and paved the way for many of other asians they are now leading the trends. I respect and admire your hard work that elevated the recognition of Asian community and culture, not only in the us but also other countries in the world. I want to say Ive been your fan and will be one always. You are my legend and idol. I got emotional as I listened to it. Massive thank you from down under.
This was the most emotional roller coaster of a TigerBelly ever I f***ing cried David the warlock choe was not lying when he said this would be the best “most viewed TigerBelly ever” hands down theeee best
I'm not Asian but I always loved Bobby on Mad TV and have a similar personality as him. I hate it but also understand when he's ashamed of Mad TV because that show meant the most to me when growing up.
The Lord of the Rings analogy unfolding throughout the entirety of the podcast is the ultimate symbolism. The bowing becomes more meaningful but also more hilarious as the podcast goes on. David Choe is a walking mind fuck. A wizard of sorts.
So true!!! He was able to bring all of it together at the end with Steven and David showing Bobby the ultimate respect like the scene from Lord of the Rings. Yes Bobby is the hobbit because he is the one who went through the hardship and the journey. Pretty crazy how this was done.
This was the most emotional and beautiful podcast I have ever witnessed. Everyone needs a Steven and David in their life to show them how incredible and powerful they are.
I'm so glad that I had a Korean father who rebelled against his culture and was a vulnerable, emotionally-connected man. He's still going strong at 85!
I have a theory that mindset is what leads to old age, so whatever he is doing it must work! Confronting emotional stress instead of bottling it, now thats the fountain of youth.
This episode is epic. Listening to it all morning between Zoom calls. Steven really brings the maturity and peace. So chill. Khylayla is a wonderful partner. Marry her, Bobo!
Been watching for many years. This episode sums up all of the feelings of why this show is special. Thanks for making us feel loved and for having us be a part of the family. Nosotros Papaya and love to all. Happy 300!
Jeremy Monk wtf are you talking about 😂 how has khalyla been treating him like shit bro he’s repeatedly said she’s the best thing that has ever happened to him lol. Bobby is known for self deprecating when it comes to his acting career and absolutely refuses to accept compliments, he even does it to David before Steven comes in. I’m sure David and Steven just wanted to give Bobby his flowers on the pod because no one really has ever done that and I’m sure them being Korean is what made it even more special for Bobby. Stop making shit up bro khalyla loves the slept king 👑
I got emotional when David Choe said, "We all bow 🙇♂️ to you... it's more then that." His journey from when I first started watching to his father's passing to now is incredible to watch.
Probably Khalyla's decision to look out for what's best for Bobby and also they're relationship. David Choe is a conduit for sex, drugs, alcohol. Edit: when I say conduit I mean regardless of his intentions, due to his wealth and fame, there will always be people around trying to offer sex, drugs and alcohol. Also if Khalyla red lit Bobby hanging out with David, it would've been years ago before he got better and the policy hasn't changed because Bobby probably prefers gaming at this point in this life.
You have 2 watch to the end it definitely comes full circle I thought it was a bad episode but I was so freaking wrong. Epic. Steven Yeun David Choe Kalyla Lee and Bobby Lee open up emotionally very powerful Episode NEEDS TO BE SHARED
Bobby needs more friends like Choe around him, other than red and fatfat (I love both of 'em btw)...who don't give a fuck about "the business" and just see's him as a person.
@@jetjet6560 maybe red serves a different purpose? We all need friends to do bits with, laugh, be silly but we also need friends who are calming and call us on the bs. However both truly love and support.
I haven't seen it yet but Bobby shouldn't be taking advice from Choe. DVDASA was a rambling mess where he'd take 40 minutes to explain a simple point that could have been explained in 40 seconds, Tigerbelly gets 10 times the viewers for a reason. Choe has this weird thing where he feels like he's better & more deserving than Bobby & can't work out why he's not more successful. So he's always trying to put Bobby down by saying things like Steve is the funnier brother (he's clearly not, Bobby's made a fortune from being funny not Steve) & that Steve's podcast is better (again the numbers don't lie). I guess this two & a half hour podcast is Choe again spending way too long to get to the point "that Bobby sucks & doesn't deserve his success" & if Choe wanted to he could be way more famous.
David Choe AND Steven Yeun being on the 300th episode of TB is the best thing ever. David emotionally expressing the gratitude and respect and Steve coming in to ease tension and being the third party to adjudicate the convo was the icing on top. Bobby Lee, as much as you hate and love hearing how much you mean to the korean/americans community, that dont fit that "look". YOU. PAVED. THE. WAY!
Get him, David. I love how he called Bobby out. He didnt allow Bobby to dance around the normal excuses he normally gives, and forced him to answer "Why aren't WE better friends!", after Bobby showered him with compliments. It obviously was a cathartic moment for himself not just Bobby.
Bobby sees opportunities in all of his friendships, if there's nothing that he can get out of being with you then he's not hanging out with you, when David had Dvdasa Bobby was there all the time, maybe David should start playing warzone.
@@jamessteadman1064 seems logical..he sided with Mencia because he was benefitting from him (Carlos). Choe mentions their only recent contact was Bobby asking him to be on the Podcast.
Crying throughout this episode. My dad was abusive and emotionally absent. The week after he passed, he visited me in dreams 3 nights in a row- that's when I was able to forgive him & I feel that's how he could move on. It's great to hear Bobby talk through his thoughts, it's so important.
You shouldn’t forgive actual evil But don’t let me control your life, you are independent free from others and their opinions. Forgiveness is important and it’s showed your self growth and closure. Or you can take the blue pill and listen to me when I say these fucking poeple only care about themselves and their evil ass interest over human feelings and life so feel free to abandon forgiveness and embrace stiff arming any relationship ship that brings you smallest amount of a bad feeling
@@ceoofmilk2756 , my father was not evil. He had his own issues and grew up in a different era with worse parents. Won't say he did the best he could but i get it and if you've ever experienced a visit from a deceased person seemingly attempting to make amends with you, you'd understand. Having said that - I have also dealt with real evil people who will never get my forgiveness. It's a whole different level. Trust that I'm a bridge burner - I move on. But thank you for replying, I see that you care and that you've experienced heartache or worse. 💗
Let's throw this idea around for a second, spitball a little: In spirit of David's sentiment, what if Bobby recorded his own comedy special and said fuck Netflix? Then he got all of his friends to help him sell it via his own website, sort of like Louie CK. He could be ubersuccessful , esp with this climate. He is our king, we will support the kingdom. I'm making money now, I'd buy 10 copies just to support Bob. It's time, the kingdom is powerful, NOSOTROS PAPAYA!!!!
@@rickeykoga2312 you know they could do the handcuffs and put it out partially as promotion of Bobby's special, the handcuff thing would be crazy and fun enough to bring extra attention and hype
Yeah. Look at bobby losing his dignity by begging to attend Shults' wedding when he has a great friend like David that he should be cherishing instead.
@@Tac0maAr0ma cause all your thumbs up are from Californians...their the only ones who care about "OSCAR AWARD NOMINATED" 😂 cool dude but let's not treat him like he did something important 😆
David isn't toxic, he's confronting Bobby in a way that nobody else will. He has the heart to do it. Where as everyone else doesn't have the heart for it.
Yeah, ever since Bourdain's death i feel like Dave has changed in a way that he just wants to help people in the rawest way possible. He dosnt wanna lose anyone else to mental issues and he's definitely been advocating getting help for problems for a while.
She didn't say he was toxic. She said maybe they were toxic to each other. Look how quickly the tone changed once Steven showed up. So I'm a new TB fan but I've watched like 10 episodes in the first week. Literally every guest has gone out of their way to heap praise on Bobby (and visa versa) in the ones I've seen so far. I've just accepted that it's part of the show. The difference with Choe is he did it for the entire podcast. It was touching though. I hope Bobby calls him to hang out one day. You can genuinely tell Dave wants to hang out. Bobby says don't take it personally because he ignores everyone but he needs to understand that each person he does it to is an individual person. He's basically an ego maniac. He got excited that Choe was doing his show because it's his show. He talks a big game about being good friends with people but you can tell how much David is hurt by Bobby not giving him the time of day. I really hope he calls him.
Except it's bs and any sociopath that feels compelled to stab an Asian grandma isn't gonna be swayed by Bobby Lee just living his life. This episode is just a part of Dave's vanity project because he gets off on hyping people up and then talking shit to them sequentially. It's his entire brand, really.
@@BluesRiffage You're partly right but you missed the point. Bobby has made Asians and Koreans more relatable and that is better for the Asian community in the long run.
i think this is the respectful andloving thing that dave asked to see your dad and bowed down infront of him ...that shows how much he really loves you and he really is a true friend and i hope yous fully connect as friend's 💪❤
There is something very unique about Korean Americans born in the 70s who grew up in Cali. Bobby Lee, David Choe, Roy Choi, etc. There was something in the kim chee during that period and it was potent. Look at what came from that hard time, look what came from the struggle. They don't realize it bc they aren't recognized for it, but they are the revolutionaries of our generation.
Not to take anything away from David and Steve but Jo Koy is been trying to tell Bobby the same thing for years on how much he means to the Asian community and that he blazed a trail for us all to follow when there was no road. I'm 35 so growing up all I really saw was Bruce Lee on the big screen and after his passing there really wasn't anyone to look up to. And then out of nowhere here comes Margaret Cho and Bobby Lee and they gave hope to other Asians that you can make it and also be yourself at the same time. One of the best podcasts/episodes I've ever seen and listened to. 🍻 Here's to you Slept King you bow to No One!!!
@@tat2masheen I get where your coming from because it might resonate more with Bobby because David and Steve are both Korean. But still doesn't take away the fact that Jo Koy is been saying the same thing to Bobby for years. And the Asian community is more than just Korean and Filipino bro. It's everyone of Asian decent. No matter what culture or background. If you Asian we riding with you!!!
The thing that sets Bobby apart from all other Asian American celebs is that he made it to the top of the mountain on his own terms. The Asians we see in movies and on TV are the "white-approved" Asians. As Griffin said, you won't see no Asian-Asians as lead roles. Bobby is finally our guy, and he truly is a man of the people (even tho he fancy)
C'mon guys stop buying the schtick. Bob likes to play the victim. He likes to act like none loves or respects him. Simply so he can act the way he wants. He doesn't have the courage to just be an asshole. He has to disguise it in self-pity and self efficacy.
This was by far the best podcast i have ever watched/heard… it so real, raw and honest… i have never actually cried listening to a podcast before. I literally felt what they felt…that was so deep and beautiful.
That would be great but does he even have the ability to connect to people like that? The "I love you"s that he tosses around are LA speak for "I appreciate you", they have nothing to do with love. I was with a girl for 5 years who reminds me of him, she had a million friends but at the end of the day you're nothing to them unless you're right in front of their face.
@@KVonnegut did you watch the episode, they basically broke down why he is incapable of having those emotions, or last previously in life. Never to late to learn new things
@@itsmebernard00 some things need to be heard from certain people. Santino could have this same conversation with him but it wouldn’t resonate the same way.
Sometimes people run from their problems and in by doing that they run from people or places that remind them of that. It sounds like for Bobby, Dave reminds him of his deep rooted problems and reminds him that no matter how successful he gets those problems won’t go away. I agree though he should let Dave in because he truly cares about nothing except for Bobby’s mental health.
bobby is so uncomfortable getting praised by exactly the right people. theo and santino would be unable to do something like this, and he needed to hear it, and i needed to hear it too.
I feel like Santino has tried to do it on Bad Friends, but Bobby always brushes it off and feels like he's making fun of him or not being authentic when its pretty clear Santino loves him like a brother.
Exactly this, I feel like Santino is genuinely like Bobby’s brother like Steebee, they are family and sometimes when your family praises you, it’s hard to take in, I do always hear Santino in bits reassure Bobby that he’s great that he’s funny and he’s just great (for example when Bobby had a existential crisis during their bad friends podcast and Bobby said he doesn’t know why he was doing podcast or whatever and if anything really mattered and questioning again his career and Santino genuinely got concerned and really comforted Bobby by saying “I don’t wanna be smart cause this is fun. I am having a great fucking time, being dumb with you is more fun than anything I’ve done.” Basically saying that he’d rather be doing podcasts and projects with Bobby than ANYTHING in the world, I mean he basically that episode reassured Bobby that it’s important what he’s doing and that he was with Bobby all the way, I mean he loves Bobby), but like you said Bobby kind of takes it and brushed it off or makes it a funny bit and I think Santino can tell he’s doing that but as his brother he respects how uncomfortable Bobby gets when he’s being praised so he doesn’t push the envelope as hard as David here, I think this episode is exactly what Santino wanted for Bobby, for someone other than his brothers or Khalyla, like Khalyla said established (not that Santino isn’t established but like I said when it’s close family like that it’s hard to take in) people to tell him and nail in what his family has been saying all along and really let him understand how great he is. And how much we ALL not just Asian Americans but people of all colors love and appreciate the man that is Bobby Lee.
This was phenomenal. This episode cut deep and hard. I feel this is what Bobby needed. David pulls no punches and goes right for the jugular. You can see and hear and feel the love and compassion david has for bobby. Fucking fantastic episode. We need more shit like this in the podcast realm. You never see this type of shit on Rogan. Fucking phenomenal.
Not since he called on Brendan Shaub about not having what it takes in MMA and to find a new route in life. That shit was bone chilling and the side of their lives they avoid showing.
This episode was extremely powerful! And this is the second time I’m watching it. I can completely understand David Choe’s perspective and I can definitely understand how so much love can make Bobby feel uncomfortable. He grew up without receiving open and unconditional love. So when he receives it from a friend who genuinely loves him without any conditions, that makes him uncomfortable. I completely get it. I love Dave for being so open with his heart.
I feel like this brought up a ton of emotion for David that he didn't know he still held on to. He blamed himself for the distance and I think he finally understood Bobby's trauma induced solitude and I think this is going to heal both of them quite a bit
This feels like when you root and support your favorite team year after year and then this year they finally win a championship. This feels like an epic championship moment. Congrats on 300!!
This was a really special episode and it did need to be said, David was right. I didn't understand at all an Asian American perspective looking into the entertainment industry until now. This episode gave me a whole new appreciation for Bobby and Asian Americans in general. This was really something special.
such a beautiful episode, David's just a lot more raw with his unfiltered intensity which I think made Bobby uncomfortable and get all defensive at the beginning but Steven's a lot more chill so when he joined in it eased up on Bobby better and he finally understood that their concern and love was genuine and he wasn't being mocked
"I'm a lot of things. What I'm not is a coward." -Slept King on episode 300 after spending the first 302 episodes telling stories about what a coward he is. 😂
Three years later, somehow I’m watching this at full length, but it’s come to me at a time where these types of friendships/connections in the realm of being Korean American is very much on my mind. I thank the universe for this to show up on my feed and thank y’all for being genuine and open about your struggles!
I've only got thru 53 mins so far, but easily one of the best episodes ever. You feel how much Dave loves Bobby. You feel how much he wants more connection with Bobby. You sense Dave's desire for the deeper meanings in life's journey. Respect.
They’re connecting then bowing, grounding to the earth and touching hands which is a sacred energy exchange and this is beautiful. I know I’m super late here but this is ❤
When Dave said he asked his dad if he wanted to get to know each other better or keep it the same and his dad said 'keep it same' it was the realest shit. My Dad would 100% say the same thing.
Watching from London guys... I am a Filipino and I got emotional with what you shared about Filipinos... yes I have to say we have watched your movies over here. Shout out to @David Chloe for being proud to be a Filipino by heart. You are most welcome. We are proud of you. God bless you all.

@@threeofeight197 Thinking about it is better than completely avoiding it or drowning it with alcohol and drugs. I'm in this process, just trying to be making tiny changes and appreciating little victories.
Literally 3 hours ago i was crying, i almost messed up my relationship with my girlfriend, i have been depressed and suicidal. i called my mom trying to get a slither of hope & then i started to listen to this episode and all it took was Dave yelling at Bobby about communication to get through to me. I really appreciate this episode
Best episode hands down. Incredible, actually emotionally affected me throughout. I never listened to dvdasa/never even really knew of David choe but this made me watch his show, I'd recommend it to anyone who liked this episode. Really beautiful stuff and very meaningful for me in this period of my life
Take it with a grain of salt! The show will eventually make you act more impulsive. Dude is a different breed and at later points in the show encourages people to just live balls to the wall like he did to achieve success. That said, greatest pod of all time!
Almost finished with this episode, and choked up and tearing up over the weights comment from Steve. Bobby, take those weights off man, so much love for you man. You are the best, you are my favorite entertainer, you are my favorite person on the internet, you are my best friend that I dont know.
I never thought about how much Bobby meant to Asians and Asians in entertainment, but hearing Steven and Dave talk about it blew my mind. It never crossed my mind to think about how many doors he broke down.
@@mrblobby1095 it symbolizes all the hardships he’s had to endure throughout his career trying to make it as one of the early Asian Americans in entertainment. The fact that Bobby had to persevere through that has caused him to continue carry all that emotional baggage even to this day when there are much more Asian representation in American media and how all else being equal being Asian doesn’t make it extra difficult. I don’t think Bobby realized how much emotional trauma and baggage he’s been carrying from his profession. As much he talks about childhood trauma this is an area he’s never really dealt with. It’s really worth watching it
David is such an intens person, and everything he does just resonates with me so much. It's like getting confronted with your worst darkness and your brightest sunshines at the same time. Thank you David, and thank you Bobby for making this possible.
In the past he’s done some fucked up shit to his friends, notably Bobby Lee. Humiliating him in front of his girl during his DVDASA podcast. But that’s just life, we all fuck up. I do think David has changed for the good.
@@Great_PatBingsoo - I was actually thinking about introducing my brother to them lol, but I can see my physician Korean brother lol, not liking David.
It takes a person like David Cho who has had to have so many real conversations with himself (about himself) to have a real conversation with Bobby. If you watch Cho's appearance on Rogan you'll see what he's been through. He's come out stronger than ever but now he's equipped with the tools to help others do the same. It's awesome.
The turn when Steven showed up was so good. Love this podcast, a piece of Bobby is in all of us. And David is a golden soul. He’s the big brother we all wish he had. Push you when you’re up and pick you up when you’re down
TigerBelly is often just pure fun. But this was so therapeutic for me. It put a new perspective on Bobby. He not just short, he’s absurdly short. He’s not remotely a conventionally attractive guy. History of drug abuse and infinitely more. He’s suffered endless humiliation, abuse, and trauma throughout his life. The fact that he kept figuratively fighting and never gave up, it’s beyond inspiring. I just have a loss for words, it just takes a inner strength that I pray I have in myself to fight my own struggles.
I would of never imagined Tigerbelly bringing me to tears. It’s so odd how by watching a podcast so regularly you grow a bond. Bobo we are proud of you. Well deserved!
Powerful episode. I imagine that watching this could be a turning point in the midsets of alot of young young Asians in America. This resonates incredible powerfully over here as a lebanese person living in Australia. Lots of respect.
This. The whole journey of Tigerbelly over the past 6 years and Bobby's journey and development really all led up to this moment. I mean, I cried like as if I were Bobby receiving the compliments. He really has had such a strong impact on my life and I'm sure so many others.
I'm actually so blown away that these guys coming to praise Bobby ended so well. He is always looking for the joke and a lot of it is self-deprecating, but he actually sat there and absorbed the compliments and responded with dignity, able to agree and receive that love. I wasn't expecting such a powerful moment and was happy to see it. Bobby really was one of the first Koreans in show business that was really seen and it's awesome that he is doing even better than he ever has. I have a lot of his same flaws and I can relate to how people view him.
I do know they both have their issues and so do I I'm not above it and I'm sure she'd not on a high horse but I definitely feel David was a bit aggressive and judgmental like so judgmental and just the conversation wasn't very balanced in um... letting Bobby talk... Steven Yuen saved the show and brought CALM... ZEN... Glenn!! No! 🖤😜🏏😭 the day TWD died 😥
@@nicksilver_music he’s calling him out for all his bullshit. David Choe may not be perfect, but he knows his own flaws and can see through people like glass
It’s the most disingenuous episode ever because Bobby literally "jokes" on bad friends that he wants be recognized as a voice for AAPI. You think Bobby gives a fuck about any of this shit?
It’s interesting seeing a lot of comments praising David Choe for “peeling the layers back” on Bobby. Having watched TigerBelly for years it’s evident that Bobby does have conflict avoidance issues but listening to David Choe trying to “counsel” him was almost unbearable. There’s a sense of pride he carries - he clearly sees himself as superior to Bobby, while simultaneously reverential. David Choe is the kind of guy to get you a gift and then complain about you not acknowledging him or showing enough appreciation. At that point it’s no longer about the person that got you the gift for, because you’ve taken it personally and made it about yourself. While I do think David has a genuine desire to help Bobby, it seems like some of it is rooted in a kind of saviour complex. He wants Bobby to pay him the respect he thinks he deserves as this wise guru, but presents it in a way that makes it seem like he “just wants to help him.” I do think there can be a genuine friendship between the two but David also needs to take responsibility for taking things too personally and making it all about himself.
As an almost 30 year-old Filipino-American, I feel the exact same way about Bobby and I shed a tear when they told him that he paved the way. I also shed some tears when Khalyla said the Filipinos ride for all Asians due to lack of representation and ESPECIALLY if we know someone is a small percent Filipino. What an episode.
I've never seen anyone interact with Bobby with more tact, honesty and love than David Choe. He's *always* got the best response to Bobby's bullshit and projection, because he sees that it's a genuine part of Bobby processing stuff. And every time Bobby tries his usual tactic (of faux escalation) to discombobulate his guests, it just . . . . doesn't have *any* effect, and Bobby has no choice except to backpedal madly. It just bounces off David, rebounds onto Bobby, who then feels under attack . . . from himself. Every time. . And David just lets Bobby figure out that he *knows* what he's doing and that's hilarious, because Bobby has a micro-tantrum, then has to de-escalate. And he does it all without trying to score a point, or belittle what he was saying, he just sits there with that smile, like, "are you done now?"
i cried so much man. david just brings out emotions out of everybody. it's really wonderful to see bobby finally take in the praise he always avoids. this man is the rebel king of the asian community and its great to see him get his flowers.

the ending of bobby not being on the wall and having to put himself on the wall is perfect symbolism of why dave and steve felt the need to tell bobby how important and legendary he is to the asian american community

He's already on the wall... Check his Instagram
"They recognized Slipknot without the masks before they recognized Bobby Lee"
1000% facts right here, a little recognition (lets face it, Bobby values his contemporaries' respect heavily) would go a long way to helping him achieve some firsts that he has been elusive with, like his first big special or that intra-podcast heist movie he's always wanted to do

"Ok, but that phase of the podcast is ooover. We DID it? We got past it, I'm no longer THERE? I'M AT...the END part of the fuckin thing!" Stay slept.
Fellow therapist here. I try thinking back to episode 1 of how did I find this & why do I need/love it so much? Boom. You nailed it. Authenticity is an itch that's hard to scratch anymore. Tigerbelly above the sheep, no question 🙌

i cried so much and im a 17 year old male lmfao

Very touching story, I hope Bobby gets to see this. Thank you for sharing.

The Lord of the Rings analogy unfolding throughout the entirety of the podcast is the ultimate symbolism. The bowing becomes more meaningful but also more hilarious as the podcast goes on. David Choe is a walking mind fuck. A wizard of sorts.
Mind Blown

Some might call him a Korean warlock
Not a wizard but a warlock. A Korean warlock.
So true!!! He was able to bring all of it together at the end with Steven and David showing Bobby the ultimate respect like the scene from Lord of the Rings. Yes Bobby is the hobbit because he is the one who went through the hardship and the journey. Pretty crazy how this was done.

I want updates on David Choe and Bobby hanging out together and being close friends.

YOU. PAVED. THE. WAY!

Watching this made me so happy for Bobby…he doesn’t realize how inspiring he is
They said it wasn't an intervention, except, it was.

@@rickeykoga2312 no it was their upbringings their parents escaped the evil from Korea
No matter what culture or background. If you Asian we riding with you!!!
The thing that sets Bobby apart from all other Asian American celebs is that he made it to the top of the mountain on his own terms.

Bobby let your friend in. He is real af and you need that.
That would be great but does he even have the ability to connect to people like that? The "I love you"s that he tosses around are LA speak for "I appreciate you", they have nothing to do with love.
@@Ali-dj1od thank you for saying that. i think santino loves bobby more than almost anyone.

What did the weights symbolise? Somehow I missed that
@@mrblobby1095 it symbolizes all the hardships he’s had to endure throughout his career trying to make it as one of the early Asian Americans in entertainment. It’s really worth watching it
Lmao god, youtubers and their parasocial relationships are so weird 😂😂
David is such an intens person, and everything he does just resonates with me so much. It's like getting confronted with your worst darkness and your brightest sunshines at the same time. Thank you David, and thank you Bobby for making this possible.
More like thank you David. If David was my psychologist, I'd be scared to go to him because he'd be that guy to bring out my fears and darkness
David Choe's radiant expression of care for his friends made me smile throught the podcast even when Bobby and Choe yell at eachother...
This is like the asian avengers just teamed up
Is dr. Ken thanos ?
Hell yeah lol
It’s incredible how David choe can just peel Bobby’s layers back.
He could be a stand up so dam funny.
Like a pickled napa cabbage
This...Yes yes yes yes, thank you for putting it into words. Agree 1,000%. I've never seen anybody be more real with Bobby than David.
It takes a person like David Cho who has had to have so many real conversations with himself (about himself) to have a real conversation with Bobby. If you watch Cho's appearance on Rogan you'll see what he's been through. He's come out stronger than ever but now he's equipped with the tools to help others do the same. It's awesome.
lol they rile each other up
The turn when Steven showed up was so good.
The perfect episode. Almost cathartic in a way no other podcast could be.
Waaaay better than I could have said it
Loved the hard discussions had on this episode. Congrats to Episode 300!!
Dave, Bobby, and Kalyla are going to "e tu mama tambien" eachother. We'll need a follow-up podcast.
This is the first podcast that's ever made me cry. Amazing episode.
This is an important episode for everyone in that room and us fans, wow
I almost passed out from laughing after one of the bows and David hands your dad to Steven and he’s just like “wtf” 🤣
When Kahlayla said “hand me something have I not done enough” fewf that got me tearing up
As an almost 30 year-old Filipino-American, I feel the exact same way about Bobby and I shed a tear when they told him that he paved the way. I also shed some tears when Khalyla said the Filipinos ride for all Asians due to lack of representation and ESPECIALLY if we know someone is a small percent Filipino. What an episode.
If you want you can come to the imrpov with me
im a 21 yr old filipino canadian and i don't give a shit, just be yourself don't worry about putting on a good image for racists
What about Jackie Chan
This is art. Raw. It wasn't comfortable for Bobby but it was beautiful.
It wasn't comfortable for the viewer either, but that made it great.
He aint no coward
That's exactly how DVDASA used to be.
This was an amazing podcast; the toughest display of love while paying homage and respect to someone you consider a legend. Shit made me emotional
Bobby's dad passing away was the catalyst to so much exponential growth...incredible
Sometimes we need to experience a tragedy/hardship in life to really grow as people
I've never seen anyone interact with Bobby with more tact, honesty and love than David Choe.
Yoh bro damn 😐❤️
its just that similar korean culture
@@NotAdamSandler mmmm that makes sense
1:45:50. “You can take the weights off”. Wow that hit different
Omg why am I crying right now.....I'm in love with this episode!! So heartwarming ❤
Other asians out there having polite fights. These guys just did a RESPECT DUEL.
Perfect name for it
don't Korean's run a little hot?
i cried so much man. david just brings out emotions out of everybody. it's really wonderful to see bobby finally take in the praise he always avoids. this man is the rebel king of the asian community and its great to see him get his flowers.
David’s last appearance on Rogan made me tear up :’(
@@G_909 man i wish i could watch it but spotify middle east doesn't have podcasts😣
This is already a classic
So true
A certified hood classic even
Love David choe this is legendary
Lemme bow to you
This is such a cool episode. David is a saint. Bobby deserves friends like him. Bobby is a good soul, David is a good soul.
i'm a white from Sweden and this brought me to tears
Great intense episode, thank you for Tigerbelly and all the joy, warmth and laughter you bring with it!
Happy 300th!
I already listened to the audio and for the hardcore fans about to watch, this is the greatest Tigerbelly ever.
Dude me too!!!!
Ditto! I was shocked and excited to hear Choe was finally on Tigerbelly.
After the first 3 mins of audio yesterday, I started setting alarms for the video drop today. Amen, greatest ever
Not exaggerating. This is probably the best episode.
Only the realest of real Papayas listen+watch each pod
David Choe is such a special human being. His podcast with Joe Rogan touched me very deeply. He is so honest and pure
his ted talks is also really good!
Same, I still think about that dinosaur all the time..
Top 5 jre
That Congo story is the best story I’ve ever heard. Recommended it to so many people.
Choe
This is very inspirational, emotional, and motivating. Appreciate this very much. Hopefully more Koreans will rally together and support all Koreans not selectively. Made my day a whole lot better.
