  • In this video, Master Tsimshian artist John Hudson of Metlakatla, Alaska, talks briefly about a Haida whistle or squawker from the National Museum of Natural History collection (E88880). He studied and photographed it during a collections research trip through the Artist Leadership Program of the National Museum of the American Indian. This heritage piece was made by a Haida artist in village of Masset, Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) and was collected in 1883.
