I actually like it, because it's a true Halloween movie even though it's unrelated to Michael Myers! I know it's not a slasher film, but it's a great supernatural mystery-crime!
Glad I found your channel, fun to hear your reviews of all the Halloween films. 1, 3, 4 and 6 are probably my favorites but if you make me choose one to sit and watch, I'm probably going to go with 3. And I wish Tom Atkins had a cameo in every confusing movie ever just to hear him say, "and I don't know what the hell is going on". He's already so distracted and stressed out, then some guy ranting about a mask gets killed on top of that.
I liked halloween 3 season of the witch when i first watched it but i have to watch it again to really appreciate it and see how much i love it since watching your revisited Lee
I've had a love for Halloween 3 since I first seen it as a kid back in the early 90's. Still love to this day and the best out of the franchise. Halloween 1 & 2 I still watch every year on Halloween... Still haven't seen the new Halloween as of yet, but from what I'm hearing it's good.
Tom Atkins is a legend of Cult Cinema & i gotta admit it that i love H3: Season of the Witch & have done since i was little & had it on video!!! Love it
Loved this retrospective! Halloween III is actually my favorite in the series (with the original as a very close 2nd, and part 4) You sum up my thoughts on this movie pretty perfectly.
The good thing about being born in 1991 and having misssed the original release of this movie, is that I watched it after your original review and I LOVED IT! The atmosphere and the music make it a perfect Halloween season movie, the acting is pretty good and even though the kill count it's small, the movie certainly can be scary specially with that ending. Great that you did a revisited review. Amazing work Lee!
such a horribly underrated movie, i love the pure 80’s-ness of it. the story is so interesting, with a great surprise ending. the soundtrack is amazing too - i’m a huge synth fan; which is why Halloween II has my favourite version of the theme
Thing about Conal Cocrahn that a lot of reviewers and fans (Even James Rolfe) missed is Cocrahn is the "Witch" of the movie, he's a Warlock (A male witch). He even makes a subtle reference when talking to Daniel. "Those who were before me you know they never dreamed of anything like this." Couple that with all the supernatural witchcraft and the hints are all there. Also, I'm sure Ellie was killed after she was separated from Daniel as well since Cocrahn replies to Dan with "Mrs. Smith? Ahhh, sure I believe she's resting just now..." He then looks down at his watch and subtly grins. Yeah, she's dead.
Malus Phillips I don't know how other reviews didn't realise Cocrahn was a Warlock, I guess they missed it cos they were not spoon fed the information with a long back story. I always laugh when people bitch about how he got a piece of Stonehenge to the factory, but he explains it in a throw away line about how difficult it was but never expanded on it - leaving you to use your imagination to try work it out, less said the more mysterious it is. If H3 was rebooted, Cocrahn would have his whole backstory explained everything which made the original dark and mysterious will be all explained in great detail lol
Mark Lyne Ha-ha you'd be right on that! I guess most critics and viewers are hypocritical in their reviews of movies. They hate subtlety and love being fed detail after detail then complain about it (Looking at you Stuckmann...). It's almost as if they go in looking to nitpick everything instead of enjoying the entertainment and using their imagination, like the good Sir reviewing this gem.
Malus Phillips that's the magic of H3 it's down to the viewer to piece together little bits of dialogue and come to your own conclusions, just like in real life. But I agree with you
I had the exact same reaction when I first watched it! Today it’s one of my favorite movies ever! I adore the look and soundtrack so much! It runs rampant on my iPod! I also collect everything related to this movie as masks, posters etc.
This is one of my guilty pleasures. I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Eerie and thought provoking. And that song... yoiks! The "And the hills ran red..." speech is one of the creepiest monologues ever, play to perfection. Thanks for the great review! (and I'm one of the non-Michael Myers crowd)
I remember first time I saw this movie i was maybe 12 or 13 and I stopped to watch it because of the Halloween name and was at first disappointed because no Myers. But then I found myself really paying attention to it and really into it. Highly underrated movie.
Halloween 3: Season of the Witch is, in my opinion not just a great Halloween movie, not just as a good holiday movie, but one of the greatest horror movies that ever could be made. The characters are human and instantly recognizable, the action and suspense are top notch, and I applauded the idea of instead of focusing on Michael Myers, each installment going forward was to be focused on the Halloween holiday itself. Sadly, it was never meant to be and as such Halloween III stands alone.
Thank You Mr. Lee It’s Been Awhile Since I Revisited Halloween III You Made Me Remember How Great This Movie Truly Is & Bonus I Always Enjoy Seeing Drewsky & One Of His Epic Rants
I love the fact that you are doing a revisited for every Halloween film because your opinion can change, and there is always more to talk about. Great video as always!
I just watched this movie this halloween, thanks to you and Cody praising it. It was amazing, such a retrofest! It's more cozy than scary and I loved it.
Yes!! It took me at least 4 or 5 views before Halloween 3 grew on me. It’s a become a family tradition viewing every Halloween, just like Die Hard every Christmas. You hit the mark on the soundtrack & I think Ellie might have been a robot since the beginning. Anywhooo, looking forward to your next revisited! Enjoyed your review!!
IMO Ellie was defo not a robot throughout.... If you watch closely she's animated and conversational in the first 2/3rds of the movie then she doesn't speak again once they're re-united. It doesn't make much sense to me that she'd be planted from the off, only to help Dan get closer to unearthing Cochran's plan (remember she's actually the one that says "I'm not leaving til I find out what happened to my father".... She further convinces Dan to turn detective.)
Tbh I didnt even see Halloween 3 until a few years ago. I still remember when I was a kid I saw it at a blockbuster. I was suprised because I already saw the other Halloween movies. At first I didnt like it since there was no Myers but now I think its a decent film. That ending does give me chills and your explanation about it is the reason why its my favorite scene from the movie.
I didn't see Halloween 3 until last year, when I found the VHS tape; ironically, I watched this one first before the first, since I didn't have a copy of it. Anyhow, you're pretty on point here. I'm a big fan of Cochran and his evil scheme; in a way, the film is a commentary on the commercialization of the Halloween holiday, how it's gotten away from its sinister roots in favor of being a fun for all ages experience, and what Cochran intends to do with the masks is to try and bring back those long lost traditions. Tom Atkins is the man in this flick, and the eerie, foreboding synth score heard throughout adds to the underlying sense of tension that builds up towards the ending. I do have some gripes with it, particularly the fact the masks are set to kill the kids at 9 P.M. on Halloween night, even though it differs depending on the time zone, so people in one region would have started experiencing the wrath of Cochran before the others did. Geez, I'm not supposed to review this movie till this October and I'm already providing early thoughts! Regardless, I like this movie, and like many others, I wonder what could have been had they stuck with the anthology route, something I wish they would try again in the near future. P.S. The bum who gets his head yanked off by the robots is played by the same guy who played Colonel Glover in Return of the Living Dead!
That was such a great review, everything you said is exactly how I feel, aside from Halloween 4, I really wish Halloween 3 would have been the second film and that Michael would have returned in a later installment to finish the first films story, really wish it had taken the original idea and ran with it as an anthology series, I honestly feel that it would have been more iconic and just genuinely better with different stories as a whole. Btw, totally agree, title and marketing killed this film back in the day, which is sad, cause it's a great stand alone film👍👍
Love H3 for what it is. A really fun, 1980's horror movie. A cool throwback to the body snatcher movies of the 50's and 60's. And props for the correct pronunciation of Samhain (Sow-in)
I remember going to the movie theater with my mom and about 15 minutes in the movie, I was confused. "Where in the hell is Michael?" I bet I went 15 years without seeing it. Now I watch it at least 3 times a year. I'm a member of that cult following. It's hard to pick my favorite Drumdums video but I must say, this is one of them. I just love Halloween 3.
Just bought this. At first I didn't care much for it, but I never hated it or disliked it really. Then when I saw it a while ago, definitely liked it a lot. Now finally got around to adding it. Thanks for your last comment and happy to be supportive. Also correction, Tom Atkins is 87 😆 He should have made a cameo in Halloween Ends since they were kind of going for a season of the witch style. H3 has more of that 80's kick ass action movie style to it imo. Merry Christmas brother.
This is one of mt favorite reviews you've done this year dude.. and you and Cody made me have a good laugh st the beginning I'm glad you enjoy this cult classic , Its a good move that could of been.. good job , I can't wait to see the next revisited.. you ate one of my favorite film reviewer's..
I remember being so excited that a Halloween 3 was coming out. I was already such a huge Halloween fan. I really wish they had just said that Michael wasn't in it, maybe I would have given it a chance sooner. BUT I went to the theater with my cousin and was just so frustrated and disappointed. Watched it maybe 1 other time many years ago. Then watched Cody Leach and his review of it. So I said, I am gonna give this another chance. Watched it about a week ago. Such a good movie! So glad I gave it another chance. Killer Flicks has made me give some of these movies another shot. I will have to add it to my list every October. So cool!! Enjoying your revisited series. Got a few more to watch.
Noooooooooo! Resurrection is my kryptonite. Take it away!... I love Season of the Witch and glad more Halloween fans are giving it the praises. Thanks for doing this revisited review Lee
Thank you for this! A total favorite from my childhood and I still love it! The disappointment was in the fan reaction, the film did well upon release and made its money back and more but because of no Michael Myers those that didn’t see it bad mouthed it and called it trash. Thank G+d for cable, that and eventually VCR rentals have the movie the exposure it needed. I love Tom Atkins, what Tommy Lee Wallace did, keeping the creepy feel of the first two while expanding the series! Thanks again! 🎃
Hey Lee. I just watched this for the first time in many years. Really enjoyed it this time. Fun and creepy horror movie. Man that eye gouge kill is one the most disturbing kills ever.
Tom Atkins and Stacey Nelkin are so charming talking about this movie in interviews. I saw a clip of Tommy Lee Wallace at a screening being asked if Ellie was a bot the whole time, and I kind of felt sorry for him because you can tell he gets that question a lot. This movie has really grown on me the past few years though!
Thanks Lee, enjoying your revisited series. “Season of the Witch” really has some of the best kills in the series. Bad ass score too. Watched this regionally as a kid.
Brilliant cameo from Cody Leach. As for Halloween 3, I've grown to appreciate this one as a breather from the Micheal Myers story. Though the Silver Shamrock jingle does get on your nerves as the film progresses.
Another great review! A fantastic score and was able to pick it up it up on cd in the 90s. The ever awesome Tom Atkins and love the trailer to the original Halloween in the bar scene early in the movie. Great job
I love this movie. I wish I owned it but I do watch it every time its shown on TV. And man does it take me about a week to get that song out of my head. LOL. Great review!
I love you and Cody! You guys rock!! 🤘 The beginning of this video was hilarious! Ha haa! 😂😂 I cannot think of a better way to past my time here at work, then to watch you, Lee. I enjoyed this. 🤗
So happy you gave this movie the credit it deserves, I love it so much and it's definitely my second favorite in the series other then the original. As I'm a fanatic for the season and the series, this one is an annual watch for me along with the original, H2, H4 and H6.
Great review! I agree with you. I love this movie! I remember in high school a friend telling me that Halloween III wasn’t about Michael Myers and I didn’t believe him, lol. I think this was before I had watched any of them, so I soon started renting them and couldn’t believe that H3 wasn’t about Myers, despite even being told it wasn’t. I had no idea about the planned anthology idea, so it made no sense to me. I didn’t hate the movie though. I still thought it was interesting but now I love it!
Hahaha Holyshit that would be a nightmare if someone had the remote that played Ressurection. I laughed pretty hard when you did the Tom Atkins STOP IT! But as a kid back in 1983 watching Halloween 3 I thought it would have Myers in it, then being very bummed out when he wasn't. Years went by and I got older and wiser and revisited the movie about ten years ago and I thought if this movie was just called Season of the Witch without being a sequel it would have been good.
Season of the Witch is a fun little gem. I didn’t like it on my first viewing because I couldn’t get over the lack of Myers, but looking at it on its own, I now think it’s a very original film with an interesting conspiracy that the main characters try to solve. I love the hell out of the ending, too. Great review, as always! *cough* watch May *cough*
I remember as a youngster watching all the Halloween movies with my Dad and I could never understand why we never watched part 3. Then as I got older I finally realized this didn’t have Myers in it, so my Dad never watched it. But I gave it a try and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Great review!
Yeah it's a weird one because you don't have to watch it on a marathon. But it's nice because you can really throw it in at anytime with having to watch something before it.
As I know you love the Story of Micheal This was the one I was most interested in you reviewing. I had already watched Halloween and Halloween 2 before I watched this. But I hated it as it had no Micheal in it. Like most people at the time. But that advert stuck in my head forever. But I have to say, I now love this movie, its a stand a lone cult classic and great horror movie. The anthology movies could of been great. But Im glad they went back to Micheal again. Nice to hear your take on it as I totally had the same experience thinking where is Micheal and yawn.
Awesome man I might check it out and I love that you also like/love halloween 4 because on halloween almost 10 years ago I saw halloween 4 it was awesome thriller for me so glad someone can appreciate it as well besides michaels mask lol but much love for your channel
I remember the first time I watched Halloween 3, I didn't like it cos it didn't have Myers and thought the story was silly.. but I need to watch it again. my view might change.. love u Lee :)
I love this movie so much and one thing I thought was clever about H3 is Michael Myers isn't in it but you can feel his presence in the form of the robots, the robots were shot the same way as Michael, moved like Michael and they blend as one character at points by giving them the same apparel and the scene with Cochran driving by motel mirrors the scene from the first where Michael drives by Laurie and co.
couldnt agree more. Great movie, totally original. All the characters are solid and likable, music, direction, cinematography its tight. My favorite "halloween" movie and top 5 scray movies.
I love Halloween 3. I'm not even put off by the usage of the Halloween title. It was cool to put in a little Michael Myers break, give us something fun (and scary by '80s standards) in the interlude. And that Silver Shamrock tune is awesome!
Revisited Halloween 3 a couple years ago, and it's become my favorite in the franchise. Like the review. It does have some scenes that could be better, but the story is quite eerie. Characters likeable and realistic.
Actually just ranked the Halloween movies on my channel and finally came out and just said it, Halloween 3 is my number one. I just love it. Good video. Funny.
As for Ellie, it seems pretty clear after they visited the factory, Dan goe s to use the phone before they leave. When he returns the door has been forced open and the robots are there for him. You then see Ellie arrive at the factory manhandled inside by a robot in a suit. I think she was killed then, and the Ellie robot was prepped in advance, Cochrane told Dan they were simple to make. One thing though, she seems to get triggered to attack Dan by the Halloween commercial on the car radio, but she showed no reaction to it when Dan played it in the factory.
Wow over 100 comments already!! Thank you all for watching this one. Season of the Witch rocks!!!
Drumdums I don't know about you brother but I feel like an old bastard when I talk about watching video tapes...
Haha I know the feeling!
I love this underrated installment.
Yes indeed Season of the Witch is a great film! It's one of the most underrated movies of the Halloween franchise.
Lee you need to watch Chris Stuckmann review on HALLOWEEN III SEASON OF THE WITCH you'll enjoy it.
The ending of this little gem was one of the most memorable ones in horror history.
I freaking love Halloween 3, it’s one of the most bizarre but underrated horror movies I’ve ever seen!
It truly is a gift brother.
It’s no longer underrated by definition because everyone enjoys this movie.
I actually like it, because it's a true Halloween movie even though it's unrelated to Michael Myers! I know it's not a slasher film, but it's a great supernatural mystery-crime!
I like Halloween 3: Season of the Witch; I like how it’s a stand alone movie!
This is one of my favorite movies ever
Great! I love Halloween III. One of my favourite horror movies, watch it every Halloween.
Beautiful score on this film!
Indeed!
I will say that though and I will give the movie credit for that even tho I don’t loved the movie like most people do
I love this! That intro lol! Ur good at this! So excited for the new Halloween lol.
Glad I found your channel, fun to hear your reviews of all the Halloween films. 1, 3, 4 and 6 are probably my favorites but if you make me choose one to sit and watch, I'm probably going to go with 3. 2 & 3 have the best musical score of the whole series, love the synths!
The score is phenomenal. This film has also grown on my horror list. I love the Halloween, witches mask. Its great. It is a brilliant movie.
Fuckin gold! Love this movie so much.
Hell yeah brother. Thanks for the assist!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Cody Leach CODY!! What’s up?
Cody Me too
Its so good it finally found its audience and respect.
this is such a carpenter movie honestly i absolutly love this
It feels so much like a Carpenter movie...soup to nuts.
Carpenter didn't direct this movie, Tommy Lee Wallace did! Come on lern this franchise
@@kytaylor5080 I think you are completely misunderstanding. They're not saying Carpenter directed it
This movie ain't directed by carpenter
Always makes me happy to see Halloween III getting some love. That laser to the mouth scene terrified me as a kid.

Or call it *“Season of the Witch: A Halloween Story”* But overall, Great Movie!
thehorrorjunkie78 that's an amazing title for H3. I'm actually pissed I didn't think of it myself 😂
thehorrorjunkie78 that’s a great suggestion 👍
LOOMIS: A Halloween Story 🎃

Agreed, although I loved Watchmen immediately.

*gave the movie not, have the movie
Hell yeah. So glad this one is getting the respect it deserves.
Watching this cause your 2020 Halloween two movies in the same year.. Still the second best Halloween ever!
Hey Lee. I just watched this for the first time in many years. Really enjoyed it this time. Fun and creepy horror movie. Man that eye gouge kill is one the most disturbing kills ever.
Oh definitely. It gets better every time I watch it.
He must get that question constantly haha.
I remember being pretty confused about it as a little kid, but this film has for sure grown on me over the years. Great wacky stand alone film.
And one of the most unique plots for a horror movie. Love it!
This is where the fun begins.
That intro! Hahaha! Great job Lee.
Thanks Lee, enjoying your revisited series. “Season of the Witch” really has some of the best kills in the series. Bad ass score too. Watched this regionally as a kid.
Thanks Robbie!
Dick Warlock who played Michael Myers in H2 was also one of the main robots in H3
Love your dog man. What a cute pup.
Trapped On An Island! Couldn't agree more! Very interesting and cinematography on point!
Hell yeah. It gets better every time.
Such a good film man, it’s like a fine wine, gets better with age.
Yep. Couldn't agree more.
Top 3 of my favorite Halloween movies. Nice job Lee.
Thank you!!
Great job
I love this movie so freakin' much!
I love this movie. I wish I owned it but I do watch it every time its shown on TV. And man does it take me about a week to get that song out of my head. LOL. Great review!
Haha that song never leaves my head. Thanks for watching Diane!
Tommy Lee Wallace said that his ending for Halloween 3 was a tribute to Invasion of the Body Snatchers!
Another great revisited. Just rewatched recently, and cannot wait for my Scream Factory steelbook come October!
Got mine preordered!
I love you and Cody! You guys rock!! 🤘 The beginning of this video was hilarious! Ha haa! 😂😂 I cannot think of a better way to past my time here at work, then to watch you, Lee. I enjoyed this. 🤗
Thanks so much Theda. Glad you enjoyed it!
So happy you gave this movie the credit it deserves, I love it so much and it's definitely my second favorite in the series other then the original. As I'm a fanatic for the season and the series, this one is an annual watch for me along with the original, H2, H4 and H6.
That opening scene with u and Cody was fucking hilarious lmao. Great review Lee. I love this movie and also watch it every Halloween.
Haha thank you Jeff!
It is better than good its great
It's funny how a goof troop decision became a cult classic! Like you and many others,i became a fan of this movie eventually also. Great review!
That song got stuck in my head when I watch the movie
Season of the Witch is a fun little gem. I didn’t like it on my first viewing because I couldn’t get over the lack of Myers, but looking at it on its own, I now think it’s a very original film with an interesting conspiracy that the main characters try to solve. I love the hell out of the ending, too.
Great review, as always!
*cough* watch May *cough*
Haha I'll add it to the list brother.
Drumdums
I thought it already was on the list? I requested it a few times a while back, lol. No rush, review what you want.
That opening was brilliant mate 😂
Thank you!
The beginning of this was awesome!!!
Haha thank you Steph!!
Trapped on a island, hell yes. Such a awesome movie. Great review.
Thank you!
The intro made my day! 😂😂
Thank you!
Best drumdums intro so far
Haha thank you brother!
Awesome man I might check it out and I love that you also like/love halloween 4 because on halloween almost 10 years ago I saw halloween 4 it was awesome thriller for me so glad someone can appreciate it as well besides michaels mask lol but much love for your channel
I’m super glad this film is coming around as a cult classic. I love it. Tom Atkins, as always is Da’ Man!
Love the intro, Lee. 😂
Me too man. And thank you!
I remember the first time I watched Halloween 3, I didn't like it cos it didn't have Myers and thought the story was silly.. but I need to watch it again. my view might change.. love u Lee :)
In between sessions of love making, he asks her if she ever gets tired, and she says no. That may be a clue that she's a robot the whole time.
Loved the intro, that was brilliant
I love this movie so much and one thing I thought was clever about H3 is Michael Myers isn't in it but you can feel his presence in the form of the robots, the robots were shot the same way as Michael, moved like Michael and they blend as one character at points by giving them the same apparel and the scene with Cochran driving by motel mirrors the scene from the first where Michael drives by Laurie and co.
Yes and great points!
couldnt agree more.
Great review man loved that opening.
Thank you!
Revisited Halloween 3 a couple years ago, and it's become my favorite in the franchise. Like the review. It does have some scenes that could be better, but the story is quite eerie. Characters likeable and realistic.
Oh yeah I adore this movie. Watch it every Halloween season.
Actually just ranked the Halloween movies on my channel and finally came out and just said it, Halloween 3 is my number one. I just love it. Good video. Funny.
That's fucking awesome man!! I need to go check that out.
Drumdums yea it’s my newest video
Want see this, Love how you tell these stories of awesome scary movies . AWESOME THANK YOU.
Thank y drumdrums..😊😊
You're welcome!
Even though Myers isn't in it, I consider this one of the best of the series.
Have always liked Halloween III. Now it seems more and more people appreciate it for what it is now.
Agreed. It's earned it's cult status.
