Man, I remember playing this game and it completely blew my mind. You could pick any nation anywhere and just be them. So many hours spent as a middling king, and now I know that we could have just destroyed our enemies from within the whole time lol. Great video dude!

I remember I bought EU in a local shop (there was a little shelf for games) and I found it for like... 2 euros, it was ~4 years ago. Imagine my pain when I realized it was EU3 and not EU4...

I actually think EU3 with DW is better than EU4 if you only took the Europe part into consideration.
For me the sliders just make more sense than the monarch points.

Ah, this brings some memories back, when I was playing DH as Germany in one of my first games, before I went to war with Soviets, I stopped producing units, buildings, supplies and just produced consumer goods which gives you money, maxed out my intelligence agency, and started spamming Coup on Soviets with 1% chance, my relations with them was at lowest because I was discovered so many times but finally I did it, they became fascist, their relation with me maxed out and all was Gucci.
Although I had to capture every one of British VPs, even in South America/Guayana cuz they wouldn't capitulate.

You got me interested in the EU series and thought I'd jump in at the start but couldn't get EU1 & 2 on Steam so went with EU3 (plus it was super cheap in the sale). Other than the cliff face learning curve and the over use of the console *ahem*, I'm now starting to realise it's not as big of a waste of money as I had previously thought, unlike the 20 other games I bought in the summer sale I am yet to install (let alone ever actually play).
So, I therefore vote for another EU3 video, preferably Divine Wind!!!!

The only modding I ever did with this was to change Prussia's map color to...Prussian Blue.
A game so good it drove me crazy: Barnyard for the PS2
Paradox gave EU3+DW for free to forum users around the time EU4 came out. My first real campaign was also with the Teutons, and I was HOOKED. I played, no, lived EU3 for weeks, months. A lot of the stuff in the game had an element of random chance to it, which was frustrating but also added some realism and fun to it. EU4 just couldn't compare back in the early releases. They did improve IV a lot by now and it is, frankly, a better overall, but different experience. I still miss the music, though.
My first Paradox game was HoI 1, my second was EU2...

I did that about 6 months ago, without any incentives of an audience in my own private home on a PS3. And I enjoyed it. But then I don't hate Episode 1 as much as some, but I still don't like it either. The thing is you don't have to hear Jar Jar ramble on and no one talks really at all, so its not so bad really. I might even say Lego Star Wars Episode 1 is better than the actual movie. But indeed some of the mechanics are dated and I was annoyed at some of the BS that happened because of the outdated mechanics, but I still enjoyed it for the most part. Don't get me wrong its far far down the list of games I like, but its also not as bad as one might think if they can be patient and play the game as a separate entity than the movies. Ignore that you hated Episode 1, you might not even hate the Lego version as much. But they do have that Gungan leader do his spit grunt thing still *shudders*. Easily the worst part of the whole game. But not letting Jar Jar talk is mighty good I say.

I don’t really understand the eu3 hate, imo it was a great grand strategy game for its time.
That austrian Brittany is pretty aestethic though
