Hey, really appreciate the watch and comment! I'm glad you found it true to the nature of Siargao! I'll be releasing another one in a couple of days. :-)
I really appreciate your kind words! I agree that the people are fantastic. I have no doubt that I'll be returning in the near future. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching, CB! Very cool that you got to visit it so long ago. Must've been so different back then! Interesting that it's always been a party place. I would've thought that came to be more through the commercialization. Thanks for sharing your experience on the beautiful Siargao!
One of my favorite spots in recent years. I guess it's still too early to celebrate. But I will be visiting again before any eventual negative booms happen! Thanks for watching, G! Wishing you the best on your travels this year.
Hola Carlos! I did notice there were lots of Spanish people there. Coincidentally, I'll be headed to Barcelona soon for a few weeks (not for the first time) Me encanta España!
Bolinao in Zambales, San Juan in La Union, Anvaya Cove in Bataan, Balesin Island in Quezon Province, and San Narciso in Zambales are my best recommend getaway in Luzon Island near Manila.
Hey Bartos, I stayed from Dec 24th to January 3rd and the sun came out on January 2nd haha. Lots of rain in December. I think it's better now so you probably made a good choice. Hope you have a blast!
While Bali is indeed getting crowded nowadays, but one cannot deny how distinctive Balinese culture is, their dances, ceremonies, temples etc. I mean if all you want only beaches and surfspots nowhere better than Mentawais in Southeast Asia, not even close. I Wonder why Mentawaians never referencing their islands with Bali, i could mention more than 10 better wand more consistent waves in Mentawais compared to Cloud 9 easy.
Thanks for your take! I agree that the culture in Indonesia is unmatched. And for advanced surfers, there seem to be better options too. As I'm not a surfer (yet?) Siargao seems like a great place to learn, so that would be enough for a good while. Over New Year's I saw footage of Bali where you couldn't get passed the traffic even on a scooter. In Siargao the traffic was free flowing the whole time. Probably less crunchy people than in Bali too, although that may change over time. Cheers for watching!
I hope it doesn't end up like Bali because bali has been ruined by over tourism. Siargao has started losing its charm it was beautiful in 2019. Went in 2023 and buildings going up everywhere. I just hope it doesn't end up like a concrete jungle
Did you notice the big resorts getting build on Tourism road? These are back by big developers with deep pockets. Its inevitable the island especially in GL will be over commercialised within the next 10 years. Many locals are worried about this as this will bring unaffordability for their living standards. Let hope the government can look beyond tourism revenue and focus on long term sustainable growth.
Hey Marcus! Thanks for watching and joining the conversation. I actually didn't notice that but thanks for bringing it to my attention. Judging by other spots in the Philippines, it does seem inevitable that it will be highly commercialized but there's always the hope that it will be done in the most responsible way possible. I will definitely be rooting for that.
Actually unexpectedly good video, with no bs brainwashing or manipulations like in most media. You deserve more subscribers

you didn't visit wakeboardpark....
Hey Christine! I had plans to visit but I heard some mixed reviews. What's your take on it?

Hey Pete! Thanks for chiming in. You were very lucky to have gone in 2019. I also hope they can keep the development to a minimum :-/

And all coconut trees will be cut due to development
@@xandroid87 just like the rice paddies are disappearing in Bali. So sad
Love Siargao
You and me both, Floren! Thanks for checking out the video. :-)
Siargao is Siargao NOT BALI
Agreed, Adam. It's certainly very DISSIMILAR to Bali now.
Just 10 days bro? Nah, not enough to convince me😢
Too much General Luna videos, there's much more to see👈
you should make one
Ya next time i go back i should do that.👈
