Nice session man, you crushed it. I just got some boots and waders but not sure where to walk in. I'm not asking where this was but what resource should I look at for spots ? I live in Katy so it's a drive to scout locations.
Brad Hatch I live in Katy as well. I found a lot of spots just using google maps and I’ve been wading for years. I was a wade fisherman before I was ever a boat or kayak fisherman. I’d be happy to share some spots with you man, just send me an email.
fun video !!!!! one of the most fun days I ever had, up here in DFW, was wade fishing Ray Roberts at a State Park.....back before having a Kayak......the sandies were just out of reach from the bank, and I thought....the water is warmish and it is a beach, sorta, why not wade out that difference in distance.....NON-STOP ACTION.......yeah I know they were just sandies, BUT the fun is in CATCHIN!!!!!.
Nice session! You mention your technique of fishing croacker like a lure, and you killed it. Do you use a weight? I was taught to free line croaker or any live bait., let them get as far away as possible and every few minutes reel slack, then let them loose again. The philosophy is you can get your bait out farther than you could ever casting a lure, up 300 yards or more. And monster fish are smart fish, and can sense you, your sound, your boat, even on calm days, line vibration, etc... thus this technique will yeild you fish you couldnt otherwise fool. I have caught huge fish this way, but I always like seeing how others do it... all I know is most of the guys I know who catch trophies usually do it wading.
Doug Owen I caught a 27” trout a few weeks ago less than 2 ft away from me. I have seen them get spooked close by though. As for croaker, I use just a chatter weight with a flouro leader. The croaker will attempt to swim to the bottom, so I pop them back up every 5-10 seconds and then reel in slowly with as much tension as possible. You can feel the croaker run right before they get hit most of the time. You can actually see my rod tip in this video when the croaker took off to try and escape the trout in one of the clips.
Awesome day of catching. I had a similar day fishing with live croaker on a popping cork. I lost a few and I am not sure if I am using the right hook. What type of hook do you use when fishing with croaker?
Very nice bag of fish for the day. Per earlier conversations, I will be in Boliver on Monday and plan on wading West Bay, some East Bay and a bit of the surf. I used to wade West Bay frequently going in off 8 mile Rd but never experienced much at that location due to high traffic. Checking out my maps as well as Google but any advice or pointers to West Bay access is greatly appreciated. Are the tackle shops open? What about Fishing Tackle Unlimited on 45 South? Thanks for all the vids and invaluable insight. Hoping to run across your path sometime soon.
8 mile is now closed but sportsman still has access. A lot of guys wade that area. I’m pretty sure FTU is closed. I will probably be back down Tuesday or Wednesday
I’m going to Galveston this weekend to try wade fishing for the first time, any general suggestions on a place to start or what to look for, I’ve tried looking on google maps but never seem to be able to tell if that spot will work or not? Any knowledge would help, thank you
S Bob sure, I’m a bit late on this reply but always willing to help. Wind has shifted during the weekend so I would definitely be wading near the inlets/outlets. San Luis, Churchill/cold pass would be some good starting points.
I have never been salt water fishing but I have a lot of time on my hands right now. Any point or success fishing off Bolivar? I'm going to be on shore. Any advice is appreciated.
Honestly, this time of year, croaker works very well. I dont generally use live bait but I went in a group and so they bought a ton of croaker. Its something different than my norm so I jumped in on the action.
Little help please. New in the area. I live I. Lake Jackson where surfside is. Been hearing about west bay but don’t know where to go to try out my luck. Any pointer where to fish??
Unfortunately west bay is pretty difficult to learn mostly because it depends on the conditions more than the location. My suggestion would be start at point feeding into the bay. For instance, near San Luis pass. A lot of fish come in out of the bay in that area daily. From there start learning the south shore line, and recognize what conditions your catching more fish. SW winds with high tides may work well on that south shore line but a N wind can be tough in the same spot. Hope that helps.
@@TexasFishingForce on a SW wind it’s more calm correct ? North wind would make for harsher conditions right ? I fished some coves In Galveston last weekend. Just bought a boat and trying to learn.
Diego Villagomez no, there is no reason you can’t go to Galveston if you are fishing. So I don’t see why you could but I’m not in law enforcement. If you are worried I would call to make sure.
Idk if you have done this, but I think you should do a video on what you look for in a spot to wade
Curtis Medina I haven’t done that but I definitely can.
@@TexasFishingForce that would be great 👍
Damn I haven’t been to that spot in years nice to see some action there!
where was it? hehe

Nice haul of specs! Freelined croakers tossed just about anywhere with grass and mixes of mud / sand...lines bent!
Daniel Guillette absolutely! Thanks for watching!

David Dura absolutely!
There’s nothing like feeling a croaker do a lil jig on the end of your line then...wham. Fish on.
Absolutely! What a great feeling!
Your wade fishing vids are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
Love this video! Really good job.
Natalie Ashworth thank you!
That was awesome, nice catches! I live in Indiana, watching this video makes me want to move south.

John Ames thanks man, I appreciate it. Thank you for watching!
Perfect conditions for some big trout
Emilio Reed absolutely!

They definitely can!

Nice wade session and video as well
Glad you enjoyed
Awesome day of catching. I had a similar day fishing with live croaker on a popping cork. I lost a few and I am not sure if I am using the right hook. What type of hook do you use when fishing with croaker?
I use a Treble or a Kahle hook

How u got ur rig set up?
I didn't want that video to end. Beautiful trout. Do you prefer nose hooking the croakers or tail hooking?
I always tail hook, I find they swim better that way and live longer.
What’s your wade fishing rod and reel?
where did you get that bad ass minnow bucket.
Johnny Jackson made that for me.
Nice Video bubba... what kind of fish bag was that? Definitely in the market for one.
Fred Gardner I’m not sure on the brand. I picked this up at Fishing Tackle unlimited. They have 2 brands there that make these.
Awesome thanks brother... ill check them out. Keep the awesome vids coming. Im trying to get out there this weekend for some trout
Haters will hate! Dope action!
Thank you! I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Is this wade spot accessible from shore? Or was boat needed to get to here?
Mr Naji you can to one of these spots from shore.
Hey man, question the rig you use , what the small white thing between your line and the leader ? Is it a weight or bobber ? Thx
That is a chatter weight from TX Rattlin Rigs.
Where was this in west bay? Thanks
Nice catch bro, where about was this?
Derly Gonzalez south shore line. We moved all over so hard to give in exact location.
Do you take people on guided wade trips?
I’m not a licensed guide so I don’t do guided trips however I do randomly meet up with people to go fish.
New subscriber nice video man I want to go fishing already lol
Ivan Garcia thank you! Get out there man, it’s one activity we can actually do right now.
What area are u in
Where can I wade fish? I'm being told you can fish then I'm being told everything is closed including San Luis Pass

I dont fish bolivar too much anymore since they closed rollover pass. I know some people do great over there, Ive just had more success in West Bay.
@@TexasFishingForce thanks!
So what was the reason to use croaker that day?
Honestly, this time of year, croaker works very well. I dont generally use live bait but I went in a group and so they bought a ton of croaker. Its something different than my norm so I jumped in on the action.
I’ve fished a bunch of pipeliner tournaments in Port Aransas and the guides use croaker, yeah it’ll catch fish.

Where can I purchase this bait bucket? Thank you.
That was hand painted by Johnny Jackson
everytime you panned out those other waders where closer and closer
What was your set up that you were using?
Shimano Curado DC on a cajun custom rod.
@@TexasFishingForce thx bud!!!
Where’d you get that nice hat at?
Dylan Matocha salty dog hat company
How do you like the curado dc
absolutely love it. Best reel ive personally ever used. i actually bought a second one as well.
Texas Fishing Force thanks for the feed back! I’m thinking of getting one myself ahaha
We can still fish ? I want to go fishing tomorrow but not sure if we allowed
Mamk Malpica we are allowed
You can never go wrong soakin croaker but Piggy Perch is just as good or better. If you want a killer Matagorda trip fish with Capt. Peyton Arrison.
South shoreline or north shoreline?
Gisele T south shoreline. I’ve had more luck on the south lately.
Texas Fishing Force thank you!
Nice
What kind of wading belt is that? Thanks! Great vids!!!
Sandy77 it’s the everlast wading belt. Cheap but works very well
Great content! I'm glad I found our channel. # Pomex
Thank you! I’m glad you found it too!
Hey Texas Fishing Force I was wondering if we could chat about some local spots if I emailed you? I live in Hitchcock. If not, no worries.
Dawson Watson sure, send me an email.
Its a live bait lure. Not like a live shrimp under a cork
Agree 100%
Can you get stopped by the cops for going to Galveston??
Diego Villagomez no, there is no reason you can’t go to Galveston if you are fishing. So I don’t see why you could but I’m not in law enforcement. If you are worried I would call to make sure.
