FYI, this process has been updated since this video was done and now there is a provision to select the country and overseas number to get the OTP. I just did it and got the OTP!

FYI I received the following message from Indian mutual fund services on March 11, 2022. Looks like they extended the deadline date. "Recent amendments to the Income Tax Rules make it mandatory to link your Aadhaar to your PAN, as notified by Government of India. If they are not linked, PAN shall be deemed to have become inoperative, after 31st March 2022." "If you are not required to comply with linking of your PAN with Aadhaar by virtue of being an NRI, you may please take the guidance from your tax advisor and have your status updated with Income Tax / NSDL suitably, on or before 31st March 2022." Money Clinic video on " Aadhar card for NRI" July 23, 2021 covers this issue for NRIs. Very helpful.
Sir will the penalty of Rs.1000 be levied on the non-resident if he is going to link his Aadhaar with the PAN as of 31.03.2023. The individual had already mentioned his status as Non Resident on the e-filing Portal (income tax site) earlier.
Your Aadhaar-PAN linking request has been sent to UIDAI for validation. Please check the status later by clicking on "Link Aadhaar Status" link on Home page..this is showing in status section..what to do

This nonsense seems to be going on and on...first having a PAN card was very important. There was no Aadhar card anywhere. Then came the Aadhar card...another headache. Now the PAN card was not so important...Aadhar replaced it...all this has made an average Indian citizens life miserable....and what benefit do we have....Nothing.
Sir change is the order f life. Whatever happening in India was already tested in other countries. Problem is finance ministry has to go longway in responding to citizen's doubts. Imagine if there were no U'tube who will educate citizens ,

What I meant by my remark was that our Government is just making our lives miserable....they are imitating the procedures in other countries but only on the taxation point. On the welfare side they are doing absolutely ZERO. Every time a new Government comes they come up with some new ideas to squeeze money from our pockets. There is absolutely NO relief to the common man.
@@ST-ju6qu i can understand ur point f view sir. Our tx dept is especially cruel towards middle class. My wife wakes up at 5am &goes to bed after 10pm. But as per income tax laws i cannot gift a single rupee to her, where as working women are given many privileges. One simple ex is extra Standard deduction 😀

It is indeed a shame that instead of doing something beneficial for the middle clas this un-just government is just increasing the taxes every day. It is just a matter of time when the whole of India will have only two classes-the VERY rich and the VERY poor.In the other countries they do pay taxes but then the Government also provides it citizens with many benefits in their old age and education and medical assistance is free. Here the whole system is corrupt...totally corrupt..wonder IF it will EVER change...Do keep in touch it is nice to hear from you.

PAN can be corrected being situated outside of India… However to update details in Aadhar, one need to approach Aadhar centres in India only
