Cliff was a amazing bassist but rob is probably way better than him just simply because rob is more versatile rob has way more experience than cliff not because cliffs dead but in music rob have experience in so many more styles of music than cliff sure cliff was a god but rob is technically better

Even if some of the bass lines are good in Trujillo's era, I get shivers near the end when you play the cliff era riffs :p real 80's thrash metal bass lines

honestly i had never heard 1-8 till today, although Robert T is the man on bass his era in Metallica history is not so interesting. Jason N...was medicore. Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets... where the bass was in your face and unapologetic about it were the best albums, Kill em All comes in 3rd but far behind those two. Cliff Burton set a standard in Metal bass that hasnt been met to this day. R.I.P.
