Another reason why Kenny didn’t bring this to Disney because they probably wouldn’t have accepted the open LGBTQ representation. Netflix was the right way to go and I’m so happy that Netflix was able to bring so much depth into the characters.
Mal V I don’t think that that’s the reason why it went to Netflix, it would definitely not see it go to Disney channel, even if It did It would be a stretch and the show would be worse regarding special effects, however it could have went to Disney plus, they are working on a new way to be seen especially with there past working with Walt Disney who was quit homophobic as seen in older animations
There was the show Andi Mack so I don't know what made Disney changed their mind in LGBTQ people.

i’ve been saying this for like a week. aside from the kinda stereotyped flannel/leather jacket vibe and peace signs he also got SO flustered after the scene about luke’s chemistry with julie that you can’t tell me he isn’t bi.

asexualsuccubus adding a bi character just based off one joke scene seems to be a little forced imo. If Reggie is bi it can’t just be because of what luke did it has to have a storyline.
Jeremy (Reggie) recently mentioned that the "chemistry" scene was improvised and the three of them were all just trying to make each other break scene. The team just decided to keep their antics in the final cut. I don't think the original plan was to hint at a Bi Reggie- but as a Pan pizza, I'm here for it. An NB love interest would definitely shake up the TV world in a great way as well. If he's straight- he'll be the sweetest ally. He's my favorite of the characters. He and Alex bring the comic relief. A more rounded and developed Season 2 would be nice.

Can I just say it's not really a love triangle when Julie clearly likes Luke like way more. I mean when she was dancing with Nick she was thinking of Luke and when Nick finally asked her out she said no because so has feeling for Luke. So, not so much a love triangle thing as it is a "but Luke's a ghost so it might not work out" kind of thing

I see it more as, Julie liked Nic for awhile. Long before she even knew of the ghosts. Then Luke comes into her life and she grows to like him. She still has a crush on Nic but grapples with her newfound feelings for the ghost. It’s more of a will they or won’t they , type thing.
It’s obvious that she liked Nic. It’s also obvious that she liked Luke. It’s also pretty clear that they’re monogamous. Hence the love triangle.
A love triangle is basically just a cool phrase for saying this chick/guy/gender nonconforming person liked this chick/guy/gender nonconforming person but then grows feelings for this chick/guy/gender nonconforming person. Who will she choose?
tbh most love triangles are like that. the only triangle that I can remember actually wondering who the person will end up with is Katniss with Peeta and Gale

I'm way out of the demographic for this show and some jokes really showed that this show wasn't made for people my age (i'm in my mid twenties lol) but i still fell in love with it. The music's great and the overall story was fun. I'm on my second rewatch. maybe it's just giving me the serotonin boost i need during these times
My mom and I watched it (she’s 41 I’m 16) and we both enjoyed it. They did a great job making it appeal to all age demographics.
I feel you, I'm 24 and really enjoyed it. It is a great show with great characters, and I don't care, who it is targeted at 😂 Honestly though, there are some jokes, that probably go over the heads of the younger audience as well 🙈 (the scene were the phantoms listen to Julie's father talking to his wife... And the anniversary... 😁)
I love how proud he sounds of the show. Even though it’s for kids, he talks about it with such passion and about each of the cast members with such love. What a wonderful man

Netflix never fails. 😉 Besides of all the musical Kenny's made, Julie and the Phantoms has the most wonderful original songs. Songs were more thought out. The songs were not made for the plot, the plots were made for the songs. They never came out cheesy for music lovers like me. 😍

On the off chance that Kenny or someone involved see’s this I’m gonna say it, I’ve seen a few other people comment that Reggie should have a nonbinary love interest, and I definitely don’t expect it, but as someone who is nonbinary I think it would be SO perfect and sounds like an amazing combination

Personally I would just like them to visit each of the boy’s past like they did Luke. I feel like Reggie would of had a younger sibling and when Subset Curve got big he promised would of taken him/her cause their parents always fighting. That’s why he likes Carlos so much. And Alex maybe also had a sibling that also went through coming out too and it came out bad. So now Alex would be looking after them as they struggle with their identity. Idk just some thoughts that could be cool. I say this cause I don’t like the thought of giving Reggie a love interest cause I feel it wouldn’t add to his character but I might be wrong.

I feel like authenticity is sometime are hard to find anymore in shows in movies. Kenny is amazing at achieving that. I think that’s why so many people found something personal in the show

My recommendations for the show include:
More background on Reggie and Alex. More about their families like with Luke. Maybe Reggie tries to get his parents together or just to see where they are now (besides a bike shop).
I think that it would be cool if they try to help Willie out with being free from Caleb.
What is with the connection with the mom? Why they are seen with Julie even though the only connection they had with their mom is the T-shirt and compliments.

Caleb is trying to figure out the connection between Julie and the boys. Probably why he possessed Nick; to find out why Julie can make them visible.
Get Reggie a girlfriend (ghost? Carrie?)

An interesting idea. What if Caleb is seeking revenge on them. What is the guys started getting fame and bumped Caleb out of the Orphium. Then when they died Caleb got called to take their place and due to being rushed failed to survive his performance and blames them for his death,
That’s…wow. I’d actually really love for that to be what happened. But I think it would be awesome if they did the whole ‘what happened in Budapest?’ thing with it. Allude to it enough that we have an idea but still wonder. Don’t give it away outright.

In another interview with the the cast when asked about are they gonna kiss I liked that they responded they want it to go slow and I agree I would love if they make season 2 about connecting more with the characters like Alex and Reggie there are so many questions about them outside of relationships and it makes me more excited.

I think what this video forgot to mention is what an incredible person Kenny Ortega really is I mean I just think it’s amazing all his projects he has done and helped create, they really always have more behind them than just entertainment and fantasy, and some characters are highly relatable, I mean you know that the show does what it’s supposed to do when you find yourself crying too. But aside from that I love how Kenny always makes such a wonderful connection with all the casts and how highly he thinks of them, he has something special that helps him find talent and polish it. He seems like a really great person to work with
