I know this is older but thanks a ton! Unfortunately my hands were way too big so I showed this video to my wife and had her stick her small hands and arms back there.
@@kajerawashington6994
We are honored to help, and 👍👍 to your wife for helping with your DIY project.
It’s definitely a tight fit in tedious job.
Good video. It helped a lot. There is a piece of ductwork under the dash below the glovebox that is held on by 2 screws. If you take it out as well, then you can work from underneath and actually see most of what you are doing, instead of doing it all by feel.
Good morning ☕️ you are welcome and we are honored to hear.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share this advice. 😁👍🧰
Thanks for the warning about the gear, I defiantly would have tried to spin it to make it fit in
@@andrewpolito9244
Thanks for watching, and you are welcome. You definitely don’t want to damage that gear. 😁👍🧰
What a great video! Thank you so much!
I was able to do this with your help.
I recommend plastic gloves for added grip and a sweatband for your forearm for padding. I also got a thumb ratchet and it was really helpful for the 7/32 screws.
@@jonskalski9189
You are welcome, and 👍👍 to you for making it a DIY project. Having the gloves for added grip and headband for padding is great advice! 😁👍🧰
Thanks! You made the best video I’ve seen on this repair. It took me an hour to complete but that’s just because the space is so tight.
Good morning to you ☕️
Thank you so much for the (Super Thanks). This means the absolute world to us, that was extremely kind of you to do, thank you thank you thank you! 😁👍

Thanks so much for this. Just completed my first car repair on my own! I did have to adjust my gear which required me to watch another video and taking the new actuator apart which made me so nervous.

Answering you from the other video I asked you questions on this is the sound I was hearing
@@decarlosperry5111
Thanks for the update, a faulty Recirculation Actuator Motor will 100% cause this. 🧰
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I disconnected it I’m about to try and start it I had to get a jump yesterday and for a couple times it would cut off on the last jump it didn’t and stayed on so I let it run while I went to get gas I didn’t turn it off until I got back I was watching the battery status on the dashboard and it was charging back up I’m hoping this is it and would leaving it disconnected until I can get it replaced ok I’m not going to be able to replace it I had a hard time just getting my hand in there to disconnect it
@@decarlosperry5111
Thanks for the follow up, looking forward to hearing back from you after you get it replaced…when that time comes.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders just came out to start it after sitting overnight with the actuator disconnected and it started right up and the battery voltage is right at the volts it was when I purchased it

😎👍
Just fixed it! Thank you!

You are welcome. 😁👍🧰
The flapper clicking would definitely drive me nuts lol, excellent video Michael 👍😁
Good morning Dave ☕️
It really confused us…we kept saying…”is that normal…that’s normal right…it always did that…🤔….
Nope, that’s not normal…we need to replace that. 🤣
The noise is driving me and my wife nuts. Gonna be ripping that out and getting a new one when I get home from work. Thanks for the videos.
@@bricken10
Thanks for watching, we know that exact annoying sound too. 😁
Keep us posted on how the project goes. 🧰
Thank you! This noise has been driving me crazy!

I appreciate for detailed and useful information.
We are happy you watched, thank you.
Excellent video. Appreciate the step by step process.
We are honored to read this, thank you.
😁👍🧰
Excellent video. So what actually fails? A bad ground? Can I use zero ohm dialetric grease? I would suspect the gears are binding due to play. I will be taking mine apart. I am also going to test the ground and the connector for continuity and check that the required voltage is to OEM specifications.
@@mr.henderson3395
Good morning ☕️
It’s that exactly. We find it better to just replace the part as a whole. Looking forward to hearing back from you on how your DIY project goes.
Hey! Thank you so much, I have that mystery sound since I bought it
You are welcome, mystery no more. Looking forward to hearing back from you on how it sounds after the replacement. 😁👍🧰
Oem doesnt come marked..... You have a blue mark because maybe the car was bought used.

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. We purchased Pacifica brand new. It had 4 miles on it.

Excellent video

Thank you. 😁👍🧰
Could not have done a better job demonstrating this.
Good morning ☕️ very nice of you to say. How did your project go? Let us know if you have any questions. 🧰
@@DIYwithMichaelBordersTook a good hour. Used a thumb drive purchased from harborfreight for $5. Not sure I could have done it without. Tore the crap out of the skin on left arm...and that was with a protective sleeve on it. I would recommend to those doing this, put a small towel in the space below the unit. That way if you drop a tool or screw the towel will catch and you won't have to take more 'stuff' apart. Also, I had to plug the new unit in to the power cord to get the splines of the white post to match the old unit so I could install and match to the holes it fits into. Looking at videos of the inside of this thing I agree with Michael, you probably don't want to go twisting the white post. BTW this was a 2021 and part still looks the same...

Great to hear the 2021 part is still the same as the Pacificas that came before it. 😎👍
Awesome vid man!
Thank you. 😁👍🧰
@diywithmichaelborders this video is super helpful! i am hearing this same sound on the driver's side behind the dash. could this be the same issue??
Thanks for watching, it is indeed. There is a fan unit on the drivers side as well.
Looking forward to hearing back from you on how your DIY project is going. Let us know if you have any questions.
Is this actuator links provided is for passenger or driver side ?
@@hussainimca
Thanks for watching. In our case, this part is for the passenger side of our 2018 Pacifica.
😁👍🧰
I just picked up a used 2017, and I dont think my recirc button is doing anything. I dont hear any noises, and will take out the glovebox and panel to see if the button is actually moving or not, and try to replace this part if its not moving at all
@@justicator
Thanks for watching, congrats on the purchase of your 2017 Pacifica. Great vehicle and we love our 2018. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders the recirc actuator fixed it. I wonder how long it will last
@@justicator
Very cool, thanks for taking the time to give us an update. Hopefully many good heathy years ahead for that part.
😁👍
Where is the driver's side actuator located? Could someone point me to a video?
@@charleshom3133
Thanks for watching, depending on your year/make/model…it will be located just inside lower left panel below steering wheel and to the right. Some are located on right side near this actuator and down to the left.
@@DIYwithMichaelBordersThanks. I have a 2017 Pacifica. I took the panel off under the steering wheel to the right but wasn't sure what I was looking at.

I don’t have the flapping noise issue, but the AC stops coming out of the vents after a while. Sometimes I can shut off the AC and turn it back on and it resovles, but soon it doesn’t resolve. The AC is blowing, I can hear it but only feel it very slighty. It’s been suggested that this piece may the the culprit. Anyone have this issue?
Thanks for watching, and it’s likely. Have you replaced part yet?
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders not yet, I have it and will likely replace it this weekend or next.
