Jerry Cantrell's stolen Eddie Van Halen guitar explained in 2013 & returned and played live 2018

Jerry Cantrell tells the story in 2013 about his gold top Ernie Ball Music Man Eddie Van Halen signature guitar. It was given to him by Eddie after they spent 6 months on the road opening for them in the early 90s. It was then stolen during the recording of Degradation Trip in 2001.
In 2018, two people got it back to Jerry and he played Rooster live for one of the people who happened to be in the crowd that night, dedicating the song to them. If you're reading this, please comment with the story of how you got it back to Jerry, please!
