BMF/R Touring Axle Bolt Tightening

  • Jace describes how to tighten the Touring Axle Bolt on your Bishop Telemark BMF/R ski bindings. The bolt is pre-treated with thread fastener, but we recommend you add some more red loctite or equivalent. These bolts must be tightened to 20 N-m (14.75 ft-lbs), which is really really tight.
    By the way, have you checked you're binding screws? They attach the binding to the switch plate, and need to always be tight. They are also pre-treated with thread fastener, but they should be checked every time before you ski, similar to a snowboard binding. New thread fastener (e.g. Red Loctite) should be applied to all the binding screws after every third use of the Switch Kit system to switch bindings between skis.
