    this kind of reminded me of lacan's concept of the symbolic order. the symbolic order is the realm of language, and we enter it in order to represent and communicate our needs to other people. but language is just a representation and can never truly represent things fully; it can only substitute it with a linguistic signifier. it seemed to me that hong sang soo is trying to capture the moment of now as much as possible (although it is perhaps impossible to do so) without being chained to the language and words we use to describe the moment.
