Honestly, if lego just make a whole wave of ep II and ep III sets with obscure character minifigs on it, it could be a "best lego star wars year" again.
Insanely accurate video. I have been waving 2020’s flag for a long time now and I hope the kids of today get to praise their eras instead of chasing the favourites of others
2014 was so good, i have all of the ROTS sets from that year. We had the best phase II clones, some of the best kashyyyk sets and also we got the ISD, the AV-7 and coruscant police gunship. Im hoping we get a good amount of ROTS sets next year, atleast a UT-AT and would be nice
You're correct about my favourite years… 2013-2014 was peak Lego SW. That AOTC wave was probably the best they've ever done and I'm extremely happy I picked up every single set. And then with 2014, finally new ROTS stuff after many years. 3 of the best battle packs they've ever made. The unbeaten, movie-accurate clone phase 2 helmet prints 😍 such a shame those are probably gone forever. But I think a lot of my perspective is biased due to me not being a fan of TCW and absolutely hating the Sequel Trilogy, so a lot of sets/waves released after 2014 were not up my alley.
the only sets I regret skipping were the 2014 ISD and the 2013 Sail Barge. A new playscale ISD released in '24 or '25 would probably cost around €200. And that Sail Barge had Max Rebo and Ree-Yees - as a big fan of the alien characters, it's a shame we get so few (besides Chewbacca) in affordable Lego sets.
I'm looking to grab that 2013 sailbarge someday when I have the funds. I don't care how big or how cool the UCS one is, there's no way I'd regret having the 2013 one with all of the nostalgia value.
Yup 2013. I didn't have access to Internet either I relied on the back of the instructions to see all the sets. And actually the last Star Wars set I got was 2013 or early 2014 and I haven't looked back
I really likes 2015 as a year, It had rebels sets, some ot sets and some killer Battle packs, and the ep 7 wave was Amazing, but i think 2013 2014 Will design supreme in community best years
The prices increased and the builds got smaller, nostalgia is not gonna fix that, 2014 is regarsed as the BEST because It has the BEST builds, minifigs and prices
Honestly... Yeah. 13-14 are my favorite. But part of that for me is honestly thinking back to things such as the Yoda Chronicles which were popular at the time. I have fond memories of the shows and the games at the time which were often associated with the sets released during those years. But yes, the sets were great and I enjoyed a good few of them as a kid.
2013/14 were the best years because of a good balance of price, piece count and design. Also they focussed on better Movies/Series and as such were more loved

and clone wars!

for me it's 2009-2012 - because that was my elementary school time. It really is 90% nostalgia.
Honestly, my favorite year was 2020-2021

2013 has always been my favourite, great sets, they were some of the first sets I got, and I loved the green box art

Hey I saw you got on Mandr! Nice job man
I loved 2013 because I had the gunship and barc speeder from that year
2006-2007 is the real best era of Lego Star Wars
I don’t have any favorite year

I loved 2015 I don’t know why tho
2015 is my third favorite year, easy.
I grew up with 2012 and 2013 sets so naturally that’s what im most nostalgic for

Prices were similar or even more expensive than they are today adjusted for income and inflation
my peak year is 2007 cause i always saw the sets on my lego catalog, but i didn't get any of them besides the at-st and the clone battlepack
