    Dan makes a note: Need a bigger whiteboard.

      I don't think that whiteboard could fit the plot of Green Eggs and Ham.

      Also a note to past-Dan if I get a time machine. Don't passively read/listen to book 2 of Malazan and stunt the rest of the series. I just wanted to make things tougher on myself. It is just such a muddy mess in my mind when I look back. I don't know why I would be ok doing part of the book with audiobook while doing other things.

    Well Dan. You made more of connection than I did during that reveal. I was like.. Toblawhat? Then had to google it and still didn't really remember Toblawhatever.

      Maybe if I would have paid more attention in DG I would have got it. This series would be great on a re-read.

    Don’t feel bad. When I got to the reveal I had completely forgotten Toblakai from DG so it whiffed for me totally 😂

    • @DanExploresBooks
      @DanExploresBooks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats a big part of my problem. I just didn't really pay attention to him as much in DG so it didn't hit me.

    Now that you figured out our long con, join us. Get more new readers and watch them fumble like you. (Btw, you mentioned that shadow fought against chaos when we spoke and i didn't correct you)

    Saw this vid posted on the Malazan subreddit. Love your style and I started listening to your MoI videos.
    I can't tell if you referring to Anomander Rake as "Allomander Rake" is a joke or not. I also like how you can't decide if Picker is a man or a woman. Good stuff.

      Allomander Rake, like most other stuff I get wrong, is because I just can never remember things correct and don't care to fix it in editing. Lol. People know who I am meaning. Sometimes I am just lazy with speaking though and thats why I say things wrong.

    I posted this comment in Bookborn's review of Deadhouse Gates, so posting here again.
    The Malazan world is built in a way where there are multiple ways a person can get resurrected and its built in the lore of the world, but it really varies and no two persons get resurrected the same way. So there are people who come back from the dead. BUT its NEVER without consequences. Deaths always matter even if some of them come back, because when they are back they are almost always fundamentally changed, and its never like, "he was never dead, just move on as if nothing happened" : it always affects everything the person goes through later and they are never the same. Ganoes in GOTM was the only minor exception but he hadn't really died.
    So if you see any character come back from dead (there will be more), don't think it will cheapen your emotion on their death, trust Erickson, he will not let it happen, he will write in a way that even then you will feel those emotions, by seeing how fundamentally these people are changed.
    BTW Duiker's resurrection was already shown in Deadhouse Gates, you might have missed it. It was from that vial that was meant foe Coltaine but he gave it to Duiker.

      Right. I did remember that he wasn't dead but back to hang out.

    It's goes deep, you haven't felt the betrayal yet, humiliation may occur... Typically known as Malazan book 4 emotional cycle and realizing your probably f**ed because your going to be reading the series straight through and this hieghtened state will only increase on a scaling level of WTF
