    Amazing pattern!! No words needed, everything was so easy to follow. Just made my 3rd pair of pants from this pattern and they are beautiful. Thank you!

    Hmm, that makes sense that you pin the inside of the pants so they don't slip while you're sewing them. (44:00). Great video! Might use this for Hawaiian wedding.

    Just finished making them but out of double cheesecloth for my (slightly hippy) husband as beach pants. Very happy with everything except the waist band as I chose the wrong size elastic. I'll take the band off and replace it then all should be good. Will definitely be making these again. Hemp would be awesome.= imo.

    I love these videos, they are so detailed and clearly illustrate every step. I do have 2 questions, where did you get that beautiful fabric, and why do you always use scissors to cut your threads instead of the thread cutter on the sewing machine?

  • @zandregermishuys7486
    @zandregermishuys7486 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for all your awesome videos. They are really informative and I love that you do not skip any steps. I wanted to know if there was a reason you did a straight stitch next to the serged edge? Thanks

    • @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE
      @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks a lot for your comment =)! Regarding your question: The serger seam here (usually a 3-thread overlock despite me using here a 4-thread one) works as the overcasting of the fabric. Then, the straight stitch is the actual seam. This whole seam (overcasting + seam) can be easily replaced with a 5-thread overlock.

    Looks like a great pattern! Do the pattern pieces have a seam allowance already worked in (if so, how wide a seam allowance)? Or do you have to add a seam allowance to all the pieces? Thanks!

    why after serger stitch use the sew machine? is not the serger's stitch good enough ? thank you

    • @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE
      @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Hi! I'm using a 4-thread overlock here; that's not enough to sew woven materials. I am using the serger to overcast the raw edges of the fabric and then the lockstitch to sew the pieces together.

    Is it possible to add some features like ( zip fly -welt pocket -waistband with button without elastic ) from the chino pattern to linen pattern ?

    • @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE
      @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! Having a zipper fly and an elastic waistband are kind of contradictory; both are different ways to "access" the garment. Welt pockets, however, could be a good design choice.

    • @Butterfly-bv3ky
      @Butterfly-bv3ky 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Waistband without elastic , I want to make it like the chino . Is it possible to?

    • @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE
      @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Butterfly-bv3ky Not really; these pants are wide in the waist so the hips can go thorugh. The Chino's design is completelly different. What you can do is to alter the chinos pattern to make them fit similarly to these linen one.

    Can I use a basic sewing machine to use this pattern and also, can I use any cotton fabric for this pattern ?

    • @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE
      @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! Yes, sure! You may replace the overlock/serger with a zig-zag stitch (one stitch in, one stitch out) to overcast/serge the edges of the fabric. Also, this pattern will work just fine with any lightweight woven fabric. A cotton one is a great option!

    What is the tape you used on the pockets? Is it required?

    • @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE
      @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! That is actually the same fusible interfacing used in the rest of the project; I jut cut two rectangles ( 2 cm X 24 cm). I wouldn't personally skip the interfacing steps as the end result will look way more professional.

    • @russellstrauss
      @russellstrauss ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE Thank you! Can you help me understand how it makes it look better? Is it because it joins the seams in a more durable fashion?

    • @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE
      @PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@russellstrauss Fusible interfacing (also known as "stabilizer") applied here prevents the seam (which is angled almost at a 45º, so it it the bias) from stretching (because of it being the bias). Also, this gives the pocket opening some extra strength (when being used, pockets can receive a lot of stress).
      In general, interfacing gives extra strenght and/or stability so certain areas. The interfacing used when sewing the buttonholes here are also a good example of this.
